World can survive without Africa because the humanity would not suddenly ceases to exist but the economic and industrial consequences would be very big and normals as Africa is having a very large amount of strategic share they are providing chromium and all other minerals that you have discussed , they are deeply integrated into the global supply chain .

The modern technology is relaying on these minerals that Africa is supplying to them if their supply is being cut off then industries around the globe have to find the alternative ways that will take years and will cause the higher cost at lower production level. Along with natural resources the continent has a rapid growing population their markets are expanding and their economic influence is getting bigger and bigger,  the modern global economy is very much dependent on it . Africa need global markets and investment around the world while the other world is depending on their resources  so in short we can say that the world cannot survive without Africa.
To me aaying the world can survive without Africa actually depend on how we see the survival, definitely humans will actually survive and would continue to exist, but I think the economic will continue but then Africa plays a big  role when it comes to global supply because of their mineral resources, and agricultural product and thats just the simple truth so industries and manufacturing companies actually rely heavily on resources gotten from African countries and also beyond resources, Africa also benefits from international trade, technology, and even investment.
