We should use both in market conditions like these. Mastering technical analysis without fundamental analysis is futile, and vice versa. But if you ask me which I prefer, I prefer fundamental analysis. It will make us confident in our choices and the projects we invest in. This is where I prioritize fundamental analysis.
Fundamental analysis is good if you don't want to spend much time with the technical but fundamental analysis does not always guarantee profits. You have to be really fast when you are dealing with fundamental analysis as you might have heard, buy the rumour, sell the news. You can only make profits if you were able to catch the rumour and validate the sources. Only then you can start filling your bags and wait for the actual news to roll out. Once it does, all you have to do is keep adjusting take-profits and relax. But most of the times, these rumours would be faked just to trap innocent people who still want to buy the rumour and sell the news but does not have good market research capabilities. These people trust these rumours and start pouring their money. They hardly get any profits this way so OP, make sure you don’t turn into one of these people.

As you said, yes both are important but if I had to choose one, I would go with technical analysis because it helps me in better understanding on the markets. Fundamentals are useful too but we can identify those fundamental gaps on charts if we have a strong technical insight. People using technical analysis can even trade without having to worry about the fundamentals but those using fundamentals to identify profit making gaps will also need to use technical analysis somewhere at least to set a stop-loss.
Technical analysis for me gives most of the answers to my questions so I will stick with it. But yes, I would not recommend new traders to stick to technical analysis only because fundamentals can blow their accounts. For new people, try focusing on technical more but also consider fundamentals while considering your trading decisions.
True, technical analysis is the far most important thing so far but let's not ignore the fundamental side as well. Even if the technical are strong, fundamentals can screw up the entire trade. This is the reason why I prefer going through news every morning with a cup of coffee. That gives me useful insights about what might happen in the market and that helps me take my trading decision. Majority of the times, I would look for technical analysis before opening any trade but it is sometimes when I prefer trading on fundamental signals. For fundamentals, I usually hold my positions for a slightly bigger time. One benefit about technical analysis is that we can identify exact support and resistance levels. This alone helps a lot in taking trading decisions. Even if we have a fundamental signal, we would still need to look for these support and resistance levels to adjust our stop loss and take profit accordingly.

that whole question is basically a trap. choosing one or the other in this 2026 market doesn't mean jack, cuz TA is just for timing ur entries/exits, while FA is for deciding if the asset is even worth touching. for day trading, fundamentals are mostly just noise, but if ur holding long-term, ta is just short-term fog. u gotta weight 'em based on ur time horizon instead of trying to force a binary choice.

But if it comes to you strictly making use of only one, what will your choice be and why.
First off, you didn't specify the industry the trading is on; whether it's cryptos (Futures) or FX or Index or Stocks. I know a lot of those who dropped their comments here took for granted that it was the crypto industry you referred to. Anyway, if it's for cryptos; both technical and fundamentals should be considered. However, investors mostly consider fundamentals because news direct their decision to buy and hodl. The same goes for Stocks. As for FX, emphasis should be more on TA. Fundamentals only drive price quickly to meet with what TA is saying. Index is purely TA, even more than FX is. I think the reason why most people assumed it is about cryptos is because OP wrote about it on a cryptos forum. Story would have been different if this was a forex or indices related forum. I am sure OP meant cryptos here. To be honest, 80% of the strategies would be same in different types of trading. I have been with cryptos for a long time now and I have also tried my luck with stocks and indices. So I can say this from my experience that if our base is clear, we can understand any of these markets in a fraction. Even fundamentals would be necessary in the forex markets. I have seen markets reacting harshly to even a small news. Forex traders are usually looking for such fundamental opportunities as the first thing they do every morning is watch news.

Honestly, I'm a bit confused about how to answer this because both are important, so I can't choose which is more important, it depends on each person's trading style. Personally, I use technical analysis more often because my trading is short-term, especially when I trade forex. For me, technical analysis is easier to understand and also easier to practice to achieve the profit targets I have planned.
You are right, because it is not an exact science and it depends on the person, and not only that it depends on the timing as well, but also depends on that persons mood even. So it's not an exact thing, it can change a lot. Me on my happy day while market is up, versus me on a sad day while market going down would be different and that's still both the same person, let alone different people which is wildly different. Hence we can't really just say this or that is better in types of these questions.

mate, picking just one is a total pipe dream. no matter how clean your ta looks or how nicely you're riding a trend, the second some heavy macro headline or geopolitical bomb drops, it'll wipe your whole stack out in a heartbeat.
at the end of the day, ta's just a wall to time your entries and exits, while fa is basically dynamite waiting to blow the whole foundation to pieces. if you're scalping or day trading short term, you gotta trust the charts and indicators, but if you ain't keeping the fear of sudden headlines in the back of your mind, you're just asking to get rekt by slippage. if i absolutely had to pick just one, it's gotta be ta for keeping discipline, but ignoring the macro minefield means you won't survive long anyway.

Actually if you understand to trade a particular market, you can use the knowledge to go into others but not exactly the same because the psychology and sentiment of the different market are not the same. For example, in forex trading you have a lot of fundamental to deal with and if you have a running trade at the time a news item is released in the market, it can change the direction of your supposedly winning trade or it may be positive for you too. For cryptocurrency, volatility indices like V75, you don't necessarily need news to trade on them. I believe what you need in them is more of technical and sentiment, whale's hype etc.

If you are the kind of person who used to be, or are, active more often in the trading space on a daily basis to make money in a short time frame. I would highly recommend that you should not stick to only one(TA or FA) solely. As trading is not as simple or easy as many consider it, or think trading can make them rich overnight, haha. Trading requires your best focus and time. You should try your best to follow both TA(technical analysis) and FA(Fundamental analysis), and then you should conclude the results of both at a single point for a better desicion.
What if I say that you still follow both while doing research and follow many strategies; there are still chances that you will lose your money in the trading space. This is what the crypto space and trading space are well known for: their unpredictable behaviour. So, stay in real time and be prepared for any possibility. This is my point of view on this. Not advice. DYOR!

In trading either we are active trader or not before any entry on the market let always consider our technical analysis and fundamentals analysis and however that shouldn’t be the only source we rely on because they are other factors too that can affect the market and change it directions. The moment we go through our technical analysis and fundamental analysis before any entry then we are saving ourselves from losses and increasing the chances of our profits because we know the market current situation and we already made analysis on it.

Any experience trader will know that put the fundamental and technical aspect of the market are all important and needed to be critically considered at any given time, it can appear that at a particular time, the fundamental analysis is more relevant to use in determining the market direction and in some cases, we may also discover that the technical analysis are also made applicable, and this is why I have always been mentioned in that both are mostly considered as we speculate the market to know the bearing.

Do not tell me that the two are important and should be used. I know their unique relevance already. But if it comes to you strictly making use of only one, what will your choice be and why.
Fundamental analysis is the first step to understand an asset and later one can trade it and make profit from it with technical analysis. But still at most steps fundamental analysis is important to make profit from an asset in long term so I must say that both fundamental analysis along with technical analysis are need to have consistent profits in long term.

Well said, I don't like giving advices to upcoming traders on how to trade before you get held as responsible for their losses emotionally that's why I always go with the common saying of doing whatever works for you. Combining both analysis is the ideal thing to do but do people even do this anymore? The traders I see this days don't even care about analysis anymore but all they're after is profits and this had blind them that what they do now is copy trading. They aren't even doing it with senes (smartness) but just doing it blindly following the signal provider like sheeps while this so called professionals uses them to make profits easily. A trader need both analysis to be a step ahead of the market and position their orders in the right position to make profit. If you can't study and understand them both (the analysis) you might just not be ready to become a trader and that's the reality.

Traders will take technical analysis at all times, yet the presence of fundamental analysis will help them take better decisions in some cases. I have seen that most times fundamental analysis brings changes to the market technicality, therefore, swing traders might miss some big moves in most sensitive cases.
Just as you've said, you know how important the both are, therefore, I will conclude by saying technical analysis is a more focused analysis used by traders while fundamental analysis is used as a backup before things changes in the market.

Yeah, it is always better to avoid giving your suggestions to follow to others, but you can share your point of view regarding any factors by suggesting to them that this is just my point of view, not any advice to follow, and we should always suggest to others to DYOR when it is a matter of trading space. Combining both analysis is the ideal thing to do but do people even do this anymore? Yeah, it is a better approach indeed to give your best to find all possible data before opening any trade. And obviously, those who don't combine all the data before opening any trade, in my point of view they are not trading; they are gambling with their funds to try their luck. What do you think? And honestly, I would never recommend anyone to do copy trading. This contains big risks because if the person that you are following makes any wrong decision, you will have to face the consequences of their mistake, right? This is why you must verify all information using TA and FA before opening any trade. Because the money is yours, not the person you are following, and whatever money you make or lose will also be yours at the end of the day. And here, in this case, these people are following other shared signals blindly. This is why they are not traders, and I call them gamblers. What do you say about it? CMIIW!

Honestly, both mare important. Both play a significant role in shaping an analysis. But, fundamentally speaking, and looking at it in greater depth, there are quite small distinct differences between them.
I agree with some of the members here.
Holders typically focus on fundamental analysis to ensure the coins they acquire have strong fundamentals and are suitable for the long term. Well, technical analysis of market trends and indicators is certainly necessary as well. At the very least, it allows us to examine charts and plan for potential price targets.
Technical analysis is crucial for traders. On the other hand, one must also pay attention to fundamentals. Especially factors that can influence market sentiment at any given time. Since these can rapidly impact market conditions.

I chose to disagree with you on this. If you call yourself a real-time trader and not an investor trader that isn't really concerned about the chart or news, it's difficult to base your analysis only on one factor as a true trader (technical or a fundamental market analyst). What you can basically get among traders are traders that base their analysis 70% or more on technical or fundamental analysis and 30% verse versa. Taking you for instance, people are begging to position them in the market, in the event that Bitcoin having is on the way, that's fundamental, while looking for technical indicators to place their orders like market structure, support and the rest, But because we do this unnoticed, and pays more attention to one, it seems we have people that trade basically on Technical analysis or fundamental or news events.

There are instances where both defeat each other. Technical analysis is the common one that's used by the short term traders and they have to profit in that certain period. While fundamental analysis is more of a relaxed strategy for those who are not in a hurry to immediately earn from their trades. FA is mostly applicable to investors, so these two strategies work together for the specifics of traders and investors. We can all both use it however we want, the focus is to profit and to gain experience too. Testing more strategies that could work is going to require deep pockets to endure the losses in mastering either of it.

In my opinion, fundamental analysis is the most important, if I had to pick one. Technical patterns have the potential to identify and highlight potential entry or exit opportunities, but they are unable to provide a comprehensive analysis of the reasons why an asset may be repriced. Sentiment can turn around very quickly due to interest rate changes, liquidity changes and large supply events. There are a number of factors that I would be watching for Bitcoin. And macroeconomic conditions and market liquidity changes are of particular interest to me. The problem with good news is that sometimes it isn't translated as a price rise, as expectations are already baked in.

Let keep it simple, straight and informative with our inputs on this it may help to a confuse trader reading what one has been useful for most profit for traders presently.
Between the fundamental analysis and the technical analysis field in the crypto market today, which will you say have much influence on a trader and investor's sentiment and decision in the market.
Do not tell me that the two are important and should be used. I know their unique relevance already. But if it comes to you strictly making use of only one, what will your choice be and why.
It is reasonable to say that individual traders, other than institutional traders, mostly use basic knowledge. It takes a lot of time to analyze the market and most of the assumptions are biased and there is a possibility of loss. For those who are still new to the crypto market, with the basic knowledge they have, they may be eligible to continue buying but to learn trading, they will have to trade on this platform for many years, but they may still say that they have not learned much. Most of those who entered the crypto market 1-2 years ago are still losing money, although some of them may have spent a lot of time analyzing the market. The success rate among traders is very limited, but in this bad market situation, some may be getting a small profit, but most of them are at risk. The fall and rise in the crypto market depends on the global economy. Or most of the time it depends on hype.

If I have to choose one, it’ll be technical.
It is difficult to measure crypto fundamentals. Most projects are without earnings or balance sheet and a “fundamental” is frequently a roadmap or an announcement that is already discounted by the time you read it. In this market, price action is driven primarily by sentiment, liquidity, and leverage, which is why coins tend to "dump" in response to positive news and/or "pump" for no apparent reason.
Technicals at the very least provide a clear sense of what the market is actually doing: where volume is, where support and resistance levels are, where individuals are getting liquidated. Equally important, they provide you with explicit entry, exit and stop-loss levels. To a trader, that risk control is more important than being right about a project’s vision.
But it is no magic, though. Technicals tend to fail during news-driven spikes. Part of what makes it work is that many traders are looking at the same levels.
Bigger picture investors should be more concerned with fundamentals. However, in trading, it is price action that pays the bills. Fundamentals help you know what to watch, technicals help you know when to act.
