Solo mining: Hobby or network necessity?

We focus so much on hashrate, but what about the barrier to entry?

It's a waste of time and money and expensive hobby, unless you have asic miners and ''free'' electricity.
Note that bitcoin mining is currently not profitable at all, and even big miners are mining with a loss.

I miss the days of cloud mining  lol .... it s no more possible but use make profit with some CPU minning coins sush as monero XMR!

That's an expensive hobby but at the same time, it's like a toy that you would like to have despite knowing its cost.

Many of those in the past were just scams and uses the term mining to get people invested onto them. While some have existed genuinely but for bitcoin, the profitability isn't a lot.

i TOTALLY AGREE it is somehow the case, and to be honest with you i had the opportunity to  try it ; I mean before the TOS against mining in numerous plateforms....

The profit was possible during the age of free trial offers in numerous plateforms .

Right now it s more a waste and there are musch better opportunities that are worth it . + Against TOS .
