Gambling influencer marketing is true escape route in many countries. Whereas normal ads go through rule checks, social media content is moving so fast that lawmakers cant keep up. There are some countries such as UK that have rules that require risk warnings and age restrictions on gambling advertising, even for individual influencers, but these are very difficult to force. There are too many and platforms dont always act fast on complaints of broken rules. Sadly, £80k tale is all too familiar. If influencers are showing gambling as easy money, via their referral links, it takes away the element of risk completely for new and weak users. Platforms may need to take action on their own to adopt tougher policies on content before individual governments can stop the offenders. Clearly self regulation has not worked well enough to date.

There should be some form of regulations if not fully but to some extent because when it comes to social media, TV channels and more, adults are not the only ones watching, children and teens also watch and they can easily be influenced as they are very inquisitive and would always want to try something new without having a prior knowledge about it. With the fact that it is something that could get them money in return if they win, they would want to test or try their luck hoping to win big but when they go into it, it would not be as easy as they think and by then, they must have lost heavily and it wouldn't be that easy for them to go back but rather they would want to recover all they have lost and that is how addiction starts. Meanwhile the social media handles they got the ads from are busy getting referral bonus from their losses without thinking twice their actions. So therefore I am in support of the opinion that there should be some form of regulations on social media influencers who decides to promote gambling ads on their pages without thinking of the consequences of their actions.

I just want to share this news and ask for your opinion because I do not really see gambling advertisements being regulated well in our country.
Maybe for legitimate TV ads, they pass through the right process first before they are shown, but when it comes to vloggers and social media influencers, I do not think there is enough regulation there.
Some of them even encourage gamblers to play and sign up using their links, making it look like people can easily win if they join through them, and until now I think this is still happening. In this news, one man reportedly lost around £80,000 because of gambling debt, and now he is asking for more control over gambling advertisements, especially during big sports events like the World Cup.
Online casinos have made our gambling experience easier. We can easily gamble sitting in our rooms. This has also led to a huge increase in gambling. Gambling is not for minors. But I have seen a lot of minors participating in online casinos. This is risky for our social system. They are gambling despite having no income of their own. If they get addicted to it, they will get involved in many other crimes in the future. Social media is an open platform. It is not possible for any government to control it completely. But if the government wants to, it can control it to some extent. But I do not see much interest from any government in this regard.

So my question is, can social media influencers really not be regulated, or maybe in some countries they are already regulated and it is just not properly enforced in ours?
Since these social media influencers get commission or percentage based on the number of people who used their promo code, they sometimes go to the extreme. You see them go to the extent of giving gamblers assurance of big wins. Some of them even showcase demo accounts to deceive people that they gave won big from real accounts. In my country they are not regulated because they freely come up with several questionable strategies. I support that their activities of these social media influencers be regulated. They should promote casinos based on certain standards. Craig Clements should take responsibility for his losses. He should have sought professional health earlier to avoid this high losses. It is a lesson for all of use not loss control of our gambling activities.

They should be regulated 100%. The problem with advertisements is that everything should be regulated and tempered no matter what the subject matter may be. This includes the content of the advertisement, who advertises it, how it is advertised, and what is being advertised. Most of these so-called "influencers" tend to deceive the public by streaming an online gambling website just to discover that they are paid and the rates are rigged. In fact, I have been a victim of these influencers. Back then, I saw a video online about a certain influencer advertising this gambling website. I got curious and saw the videos where he was winning a lot. So I did what a normal person would do- try it out for myself and later did I discover, after I lost money, that the gambling website was shut down for being intentionally rigging their rates.

We are all responsible for our own financial situation. We need to be able to budget ourselves, it’s very easy to blame the gambling company for your losses but it’s not them who can’t control their finances. I have never understood the people who blame bookies if they keep losing.

So my question is, can social media influencers really not be regulated, or maybe in some countries they are already regulated and it is just not properly enforced in ours? The damage is done already, that 80,000 in euro isn't coming back, he should now make use of his senses and be responsible around gambling, the solution isn't gambling advertisement, if you can't control yourselves when a casino does it's adverts it's your problem. Gambling is for adults and not kids, this is enough precaution that's necessary, kids have guidances for this reasons, you can't respect the same government who is benefiting alot from.casinos to stop casinos from advertising their business it's impossible. A country is better off banning gambling for good rather than taking taxes from casinos and not allowing them to display and promoter their businesses, people just need to grow up.

Obviously, such an advertisement will not arise from scratch, just like that. They pay for it, and the more they pay, the more resistant such advertising will be to regulators. Today, money rules the world, and everything that is published on the Internet must pass through the filters of the person's consciousness. It's naive to demand a ban on advertising, as that poor guy does, because no one held his hand or forced him to play, isn't it? For some reason, people think the state needs to protect not only their safety but also implement things like censorship on social media or the entire internet. And as soon as there are any prohibitions that users don't like, they immediately remember the expression "their own freedom". Funny, isn't it?

OP has a valid point. Often these celebrities do paid promotions without even thinking what they are advertising. I have seen come celebrities do gambling ads too but what OP says is valid, these ads should be regulated too. These celebrities have a huge fan following and often, people below 18 also get these ads and hence they get triggered to gambling. This should be regulated at least on platform level where people below 18 are not shown such ads at all.

In my opinion, this should be regulated. The most important thing is oversight, because advertisements by influencers on social media are completely different from TV commercials, which must go through strict procedures before airing, especially those related to gambling, while social media is much harder to monitor. We often see influencers showcasing only large winnings, as if to imply that gambling is the fastest way to make money, when in reality they’re promoting gambling sites. This is particularly risky for laypeople or minors, as they are not yet able to think clearly, therefore, it is important to always explain the risks associated with gambling.

Yes and its good for them to be regulated to. Because those influencers have wide reach and also many minors possibly could watch their videos or stream including their gambling promotion. So to avoid having any potential problems with their audiences in related to gambling. Much better if government will pay attention to those streamers engage with this promotions. They are main culprit on why gambling sites get massive exposure to lots of people in the world.

Of course, it can be regulated. It's just a matter of whether the government is competent or serious enough. But more than regulations, it's the implementation that matters. All kinds of regulations and other policies can be put in place, but if they're not seriously implemented, they would amount to nothing.
From where I am, even illegal gambling is so rampant it's done openly. Laws against it are useless because they're operating with the protection of law enforcers and leaders themselves.

It could not be risky for minors as long as the casinos do their job to ensure that verification is properly done, that is the purpose of KYC. Unless a casino allows gamblers without KYC, then that is something hard to prevent from happening, but still the responsibility should also be on the parents, not to be blamed on the casino solely. So to avoid having any potential problems with their audiences in related to gambling. Much better if government will pay attention to those streamers engage with this promotions. I hope they will look at that because in reality, those influencers are probably better marketers compared to the TV ads we see. Influencers can play or make a video for more than an hour just gambling, and if they are winning, that is when people will be convinced to play too.

In a country that is corrupt, you cannot expect regulation to be fair because those who are given licenses, especially local casinos, probably have connections to them.
Although they are legal and they pay taxes, that is just small compared to what goes into the pockets of corrupt officials. You are talking about the Philippines, do not expect too much dude, you will only be disappointed because as long as the current leader is still sitting, that is close to impossible.
But to answer your questions, ( its yes).

My country has regulated the advertising of gambling through influencers and it is totally prohibited, if anyone does it, they will be arrested and in prison, there have been many influencers arrested that I saw on the local news. How do you regulate influencers abroad? They are free because gambling is completely legal, while advertising gambling by influencers and then spreading it on the internet will be seen by all social media users, so it is difficult to regulate all unless in your own country then the government can do it.

Social media influencers can be regulated but that depends on the government of each country. They can asks social media platforms to apply a strict filter to the influencer and only those who adult can see the ads.
But that can't stop young people or those who lack controls from play gambling so they can deactivate the filter through their account settings.
That will not only regulation from the government, the social medias but from personal so people must know the risk and don't gambling too much if they don't want to lose.

If the rules set by the government are already in place and influencers still break them, it seems like the regulatory oversight isn't strict enough. So influencers are still free to promote in their own way. And of course, they don't care about any of their followers who end up falling because of their influence in gambling.

Before calling on regulating influencers, gambling ads placed on stadium's led boards, in top tier football competitions, where kids and adults participate in watching should as well be regulated. The widespread of ads in gaming niche is so large that both minors, unaware players, problem players, will definitely get to see those ads. Curtailing the deals of social media content influencers will help only on social platforms, and individual pages, but will do no much impact in solving the problem imposed on them as the prime cause.

The reason why I think it should be regulated is because these ads on social media can be very deceiving. The reason why I started playing crash games was because I came across the ad on a social media platform and what was advertised was just the positive side of it. Gambling ads can make a someone that's trying to quit gambling relapse back to addiction.

In my country it's not regulated and, if you must gamble through their promotion it's left for the said person to do their research before signing up to the gambling site and to crown it all, you need to know what you are signing up for so that you wouldn't be that redirected to phishing site where the person get hacked. Nowadays, the rate and manner at which people are getting lured through gambling ads on social media is becoming alarming and the worst is that people who do not know how those things work would think that gambling winning is that very easy or common.
This is the case with my country, Influencers are free to advertise what brings revenue to them. The government doesn't care at all about the extent of misinformation they spread or to protect the citizens from the effect of such promotions. They are always eager to advertise gambling as having only positive effects and no losses, thereby encouraging gamblers to gamble endlessly without brake. I believe there are people who save their card details on their browser to enable them make quick funding to their gambling account.
Saving your card details is no more much of a threat like before now. In my country, almost all banks and fintechs have adopted the method of using OTP to validate transactions when bank cards are to be charged, so scammers are no longer able to withdraw your funds if they have no access to the sim or email linked to that account as based on user selection for notification during the registration of that account.
