But most issues just shift.

I agree with you on the freedom part. Nobody wants to work for a boss forever or ask permission to travel and that’s why most of us are chasing money. But I don’t really agree with the "poor mentality" line. Some people want to get rich to compete, to prove something, to be ahead. That’s not poor mentality, that’s just ambition. At the end freedom is the goal for many, but the reason why someone wants to be rich doesn’t really matter. 

Freedom 100 percent, because being your own boss and not depending on anyone for salary is the main reason for me too. I get what you’re saying about people who just want to show off, but I think that also pushes some people to work harder. Everyone has their own reason.

Yes ambition is completely different from the poor gaining stability financially being a poor man's mentality.  If that is called the mentality of a poor man, what then are we going to call a rich man pushing to become more richer because I know both are of the same characteristics.
