But keep in mind that most US goods are assembled and manufactured in China. If you use an iphone, you will see "made in China" right on the box.
That is completely irrelevant and has nothing to do with Chinese goods made in China. When it is a real brand of the US such as Apple, then the manufacturing follows the high quality level of manufacturing as imposed by Apple -- what is available in China regularly or irregularly has nothing to do with that. Putting the price aside and any other issues that may be related, iPhones are a great example of one of the highest quality items to have ever been produced in recent history and it does not matter at all in which country it is done. It is not a reflection of the standards of the country, it is only a reflection of Apple.
Most people are only using their cheaper product. Very few are willing to spend money on their high end products, yet they are quick to assume that all Chinese goods have the same level of quality. In my opinion, looking down on Chinese goods is mostly based on prejudice rather than actual experience.
China is the world's factory and produces all kinds of goods at different quality levels. The cheap products you usually see are just one part of the market and cannot represent Chinese goods as a whole.
If you are talking about generic items and small gizmos that are being produced in China, yes those are shit. There is no such thing as "high level quality" Chinese product, 99.9% of Chinese products are junk and as such the exception can be ignored. Usually people who come to the defense of China have no idea what they are talking about. Aside from a few items or companies from the technology sector, literally everything else is junk. You invent some kind of "high end products" narrative for which you yourself do not have any examples of, since you have never actually seen or tried such a product. It may be more expensive, but it is still junk.
