Is European soccer on decline? Many big names facing elimination in early rounds

The Round of 16 lineup is completed with 7 teams from Europe and 7 teams from America entering, while 2 Africans are having their spots even though a few have done an impressive job, but they fail to hold their nerve and lose in the last minutes of their games, but I am still optimistic about them with their performance level they can do much better in the future.

Senegal is the biggest shock for me after leading by 2-0, they still fail and let themselves down, while Congo was also amazing in the last two games. Cape Verde and Ghana also show good performance, but still they are not good enough to do their job after a few hours. Morocco is going to be the entertaining host country, Canada. I am sure they are going to have a spot in the last 8 as well.

The problem with african teams is shooting. They are fast and have endurance, but lack accuracy. Their shots are too powerful when launching the ball to the attacker, and miss too many goals in the front of the goal.

African teams were only good in the opening matches or the group stage of the tournament. European teams were weak in the group stage but rise up to face their challenges in the round of 32 and beat up the African teams. The two qualified Africa teams are not trusted to scale through in the round of 16.

Yea it is what we all expect because of how good they are, Morocco national team has shown much strength, they have been of good performance in this world cup, Canada look less of a team as they will be meeting each other, however, no team in this stage of the  world cup should be seen as less because we saw what happened to Germany, in Argentina match against Cape Verde that we thought that Argentina will win so fast became a tough match that Argentina has to win by struggle, yea Argentina had more ball possession but the match was not won as easy as we thought, as it is, I don't think that it is easy for us to tell which team that will be knocked out in the next round.

I think Morocco needs to do something better if it wants to beat Canada. Morocco's performance in the first 25 minutes of the half has not been as expected, I just get they dominated possession and have not found good opportunities to score. Canada were even better in terms of creating chances, they almost scored and put Morocco under pressure. Canada's chances of winning are likely to be better because of its performance than Morocco, but I hope Morocco finds a solution so that it can develop game play.

Why the fuck are you bringing up Morocco if you want to make examples of a lack of "domination"?  It is an African country after all, and that Netherlands failed even to defeat them just confirms and shows that my post on the previous pages is entirely correct. The Golden times of European football are in the past, give it a few more cups and they will be even more useless than they are now. Belgium barely managed to defeat Senegal, what a shit show.  You have a problem that you do not understand English words in their correct meaning. "Dominating" does not mean complete domination nor does it refer to every single game. Compared to the past, those countries are now dominating European nations even if a European nation might still win this time around. There is no way of going around that, no matter how biased and in favor of Europe you are.

Italy, Denmark, and Serbia are out of this World Cup. After them, Turkey and the Czech Republic are out of action in group stage games. Their performances were not as expected and last night Germany and the Netherlands also facing surprising eliminations from the round of 32 on penalties.

In upcoming games, a few teams are also going to face possible elimination with this level of performance.
Now, it looks like European soccer is facing serious troubles.

I don't think European soccer is fading away as you said, the reason is because their are still many of the European countries in the tournament even though some of them are out of the competition, the 2026 FIFA world cup might likely go to Europe. Sometimes, the group or country you meet can determine how far you will go in the competition, those countries that meet very strong opponent at their early stage might find it very difficult to scale through. However, this FIFA world cup have been in Europe for so long, and to me I will support other continent to win this 2026 FIFA world cup instead of Europe.

I would not really say that they are on decline because if you have been following the world cup games the European teams have been winning their matches, perhaps they didn't meet up your expectations this time around that's why you said there is a decline in their performance. Asides from the European soccer being on decline like you Said you must remember that anything can happen in soccer, it is not actually a decline per se, it's just way more competitive.

European teams have won 4 of the last 5 World Cups, and they are the favorites to win this World Cup. It would be wrong to say that European teams are playing bad football, but there are some teams that we had high hopes for. Germany in particular is in a miserable state after winning the 2014 World Cup. Italy is going through an even worse situation, they have not been able to participate in the last 3 World Cups. These two teams are doing very badly among European teams, which is quite surprising to me. Moreover, European teams still dominate world football, but recently they have to compete with South American teams.
