I am not sure if people should combine religion and laws. Because then for everything that is haram, people should be put in jail, but what is not described in Qur'an, should be allowed or not punished. If gambling is haram - get in jail. Tax avoidance or inside trading isnt haram - allowed. I also dont think that punishment is the right form to fight with something. From young age, from school I have learned that if someone gets punished, that has no effect on understanding situation and problem.
Yeah i get your point and i completely agree with you. But i think if there are strict laws against something then people were less likely to do it. For example there is a fixed punishment for murder so people think thousand times before killing someone. That is because the law exists. Otherwise people would kill each other if there is no law. We can see something like this happening now between
Israel and Palestine. Where there is free hand for
Israel and their IDF and the result is in front of you. This was just because there is no law.
