This year, I decided to actually get serious about my finances. Not just holding Bitcoin, but the whole picture. Budgeting, tracking, knowing where I stood. I started using Rocket Money. It was solid for what it did, pulling in bank accounts and cards and showing me where my money was going.

But my Bitcoin wasn't in it. There was no way to add it. So every time I pulled up my dashboard, the asset I cared about most just wasn't there. And after a while, out of sight really does mean out of mind. I started paying less attention to it.

The other thing I noticed was that looking at everything in dollars was making me numb. A dollar figure just stops registering after a while. But when I started thinking about my stack in sats and pricing my everyday life in sats, something clicked. That coffee isn't $5, it's 500 sats. That car payment isn't $600, it's 60,000 sats. I started actually feeling the cost of things again and caring more about what I was keeping.

I wanted an app that gave me that perspective every day and put my Bitcoin in the same view as the rest of my life. Nothing existed that felt right so I built it.

Compass shows your balance in Bitcoin and your local currency side by side. You can connect your wallet with an xpub key for automatic syncing, or if you're not there yet, just enter your balance manually and update it when you want. Either way works. Nothing is custodied, nothing can be moved. It's been changing my psychology the way that I view money now and I feel less like a mindless consumer. I've been stacking more sats because of it. I would love you guys to try it out and give me thoughts.

The main goals are the following:
- See daily spending in Bitcoin
- Have accurate syncing of net worth with Bitcoin and other assets
- Secure, non KYC

It's free to start here is the link: www.compassbtc.app

Happy to answer questions from anyone who wants to dig in.

It's nice to see this one has another option for those who don't like to share their xPubs for privacy reasons, but I noticed the 14-day free trial still requires a Cash App authorization or our credit card information... A direct bitcoin payment after the trial would've been better.
- I enjoyed watching the demo, so I'm bookmarking this.

I wonder if a guest option or a live demo option would be possible. I guess I can use a throwaway email account to try new service but it feels discouraging and annoying to me. Anyway, if payment is required and credit card or Cash App is the only option, I guess this won't be an option for a lot of people. I also think Bitcoin or crypto payment would be the default option considering the goal of the app.

While I understand that $4.99 per month is not much money for many Bitcoiners, I think you should seriously reconsider charging the subscription model right from the start for an app that helps users stop spending their money unnecessarily.  If you want to gain traction by getting people to use Compass and giving you feedback, you need to reduce that barrier to entry.

I absolutely love the psychological shift you are trying to make here.  But you have a massive barrier to entry right now.

Thank you for the feedback! I updated it. It's now a desktop app as well where everything is saved to your machine LOCALLY. Nothing ever enters a server. And I added the option for you to pay in Bitcoin as the default. I've switched it to be $99 for lifetime so you get access to it for life and all future updates free after that. Also, I added the demo to the landing page so you can check it out there. Thank you.

You're right. I removed the barrier. It's a single $99 payment but you get to keep it for life with all future updates and you have the option to pay with Bitcoin and you can enter an email that just confirms where to send the license key to. Thank you for the feedback

Won't limiting it to a $100 price increase the barrier to entry even more? I'd expect a more flexible price point other than the free 30-day trial judging from other business. I guess you're confident that the 1 month trial will be enough to show everything and encourage people to buy it for a lifetime, but I'm not sure how many people will actually buy that. I've never bought a lifetime deal just to try a new program myself. But well, let's see how the data turns out.
