We need a real return to altcoins.

There have to be enough of us OGs that we could all work together and dev something really cool. Memecoins and shit are cool to an extent and they kind of scratch the itch but I want to make something that really gives us all hope again. With people that know how to fucking hold longer than 30 seconds. Maybe its a pipe dream idk, but I really miss the 2013 era so much. Thats when everything felt exciting and progress wasnt paywalled to fuck and back.

Well, if you have an innovative idea, then bring it on; the trust in new altcoins is not good now; people think that it's another developer cash cow, but if it's something new and there's demand for its use case, then doubt will turn to support for what you are creating.

It's a great era in cryptocurrency where real developers create coins with real use cases, until scammers find their way into this industry and start messing everything.

I sometimes have to agree with this. Because the sheer number of altcoins created solely for scams has started to bother me a lot. I never used to think this way decentralization and everyone doing things on their own seemed very appealing to me. Now, however, we see what people are actually capable of. Instead of using this technology for good, they are using it purely for their own benefit, continuing with great greed. That's why there needs to be some kind of regulation.

IDK what that old era you long for was like, but right now we have plenty of good altcoins, such as Ethereum (ETH), BNB (BNB) & Solana (SOL). Even when launching new projects, people in the crypto industry are now more skeptical, most tend to trust projects backed by big VCs, because they're afraid of being scammed by anonymous developers.

It's hard competing with VC backed project that got tens of millions and willing to spend millions just to list their project for liquidity.
Most indie project created by small team of developers or even solo never get to create that much noise, always getting overshadowed because they don't have money to market.

It's doable but it's going to be a tough one, you really need to create something revolutionary, something that never existed before.

They say that Bitcoin is best for long term hodling.... I do not think so. Bitcoin is a mature asset that is remarkably overvalued relative to its fundamental value (acceptance) at the moment.
Many altcoins are much better for long term investment now... Though I bet it is not the best time to buy (altcoins). The altcoins will become even cheaper, much cheaper when the stock markets crash and Saylor sells his 1M BTC.... I bet then is the best time to go all in (altcoins).

There's no going back to that era of cryptocurrency; the industry has matured, and there were years when scammers and shitcoins ruled. Because of this, Bitcoin dominance continues to grow against altcoins because there were and still are rug pulls in altcoins.
I don't think we need to return to altcoins, but the market is still open to new altcoins that offer use cases and serve the community's needs, not the developers'.

I'm not talking about memecoins here (yes it's a gambling with them - one of them is really funny though - look at dogecoin - even Elon M. mentioned it).
BTC is safe no doubt but it is very expensive now. I'm not a trader I back to crypto after 16 years. I remember news about BTC on slashdot back in 2009/2010. I remember BTC for 0.008-0.0008 $ (one guy selling it via PP saying: "You will be very rich someday" or something similar). I remember ETH for 0.8-1 $. I didn't trust crypto then & forgot about it until 2025 (money & wealth is not everything you need - at least for me - you can easily send me any coins & I'll send you back) From my perspective BTC monopoly is bad (even if it's safe) & these days I have trust (not fully of course) in community coins like ETH, ETC , XMR, LTC, XRP, BCH, BSV, GRAM, AVAX, AAVE, NEAR, TAO, WLD, KAS, RENDER, ALGO, LINK, SUI, QNT, MKR (I'm avoiding expensive ones, I know people who invested in KAS, XRP & ETH a lot of $). I'm also aware of crypto volatility but AI helps a lot of these days.

Of course they will definitely be a return of altcoins, this advantage must be taken now and we should  able to buy when the market falls and sell when it rises, therefore target a particular entry position in this fall of the market and invest in them until we arrive the season before you could sell in profit, all these listed coins or tokens are of good prospects, also note that there is always a risk in anything you do as you stand the chance of either earning or losing at the end.

It's all about the trust. Big money is flowing into crypto and when that happens, they choose the one which is guaranteed to profit them.
Altcoins cannot be trusted that easily which is why instiutional investors are investing their money into bitcoin.
We never know when or if the altcoins cycle will ever come or not. A project has to provide value and solve real world problems.
It has to gain people's trust to gain attraction and that has become difficult in this cycle.

If you are talking about real alts, then we have a strong hope that we will see a great return in the near future. If you are talking about shitcoins, then probably we may not see a good return. But remember, anything would happen on the crypto market, but at least I am not expecting a great return of shitcoins anymore. However, some would be exceptional, but exceptional won't be an example anyway.

About the altcoin season, we have just been hearing that for a long time. But we don't know when it will come since Bitcoin itself hasn't been growing lately. Especially for meme coins, I don't feel investors are much interested in that; we see pumps sometimes when whales play with those memes. But for sure, we will see real return to alts when investors feel comfortable again.

Altcoin projects without VC funding will not be successful, they will cost a lot to run even if they have to enter into large liquidity, although at the beginning they will be successful still most altcoins now will not last long, the tip of the tip is down 90%.
