Merit is no more for quality posts?

You cannot fight everything that is happening here on the forum, because you are not part of the happenings, I will suggest one thing for you OP, be among the game changer and you will not have anything to complain about regarding this forum, what is being appreciated most here is value and this is only found in what you are posting, do that and see how merit will be flowing in your account and everyone will think maybe you are being logical about it.

Similar actions are interpreted differently for different members in the forum and what guides and influences this interpretations is strongly tied to the reputation of the forum member.

Being that giving merit is subjective of the giver's to what he thinks a merit worthy post is to him/her but the intentions for rewarding certain number of merits to any posts is usually a major of concern particularly that you are not a reputation member, in this case it was basically for humour and not that it was for quality posting in the complainer view but which in my view it was not for merit abuse either.

It is only that even in our daily lives outside the forum we some times misunderstand actions without first making inquiry. And I see this also happening in the forum with merit sparking issues between ranks particularly from bottom to top ranks.

OP, you should understand that anyone has the liberty to give any amount of merit they wish to, so far as they have the spendable merits. Theymos is even of the idea that users should spend more of their smerits to encourage merit distribution rather than hoarding it, so i see nothing bad if a user sends 50 merits to any post, despite its quality. There is no brochure that is provided to identify a post that is of quality so you can measure the quality of any posts based on your own assessment and decide how many merits to award to such post without being interrogated by anyone. This is not even the first time that Nutildah is being generous with merits, you can go through this link to see how generous he has been which is encouraged. Besides, he has already made it clear that anyone can sign up for his gameshow and enjoy same privilege of getting up to 50 merits so i wonder what is stopping you from using your main account to sign up.

If you have 150 source merit and you only see 3 merit-worthy posts in a month, then I'd rather you over-give each of them 50 merit than let the merit expire.That way there are more people capable of sending merit, and the "merit economy" is less top-down

I couldn't believe the OP had no little time to go through the origin of this contest/show from the kill Tony show and down to the first thread created by nultilda to announce his intention and for interest declaration. @nultilda can choose a different reward pattern for his show too if he wanted and I guess if his budget was $1k no one would question him. This is a self-entertaining show he has initiated and I bet you that @Dirtykeyboard deserves even more from his performance Moreover @Dirtykeyboard has little or no use of the merit since he's already a legendary member: so therefore @Dirtykeyboard obviously never participated for merit sake.

Building reputation in this forum is very important and the two people involved are very reputable and has no rush for merit. The performance was interesting and I look forward to watching the next episode of "Kill Tilda".

Revolution2025, I don’t think this your concern is for general public interest, perhaps you have personal issues with @Nutildah which I am sure don’t even know you do all these.

Your posts are not for the benefit of this forum but to criticize forum members and question some rules lied down in this forum which is very wrong because every place have their own rules, you either abide by the rules or you leave. Although this forum is a public forum for learning, but your aim is not to learn but to criticize some people that are already a legendary members who need no merits to survive in this forum.

Therefore, if you want merits in this forum, learn first and create quality and educative threads instead of criticizing and questioning some people in this forum.

Game changers will have something to always talk about. You will see things that don’t sit right with you and try to influence change on that. The best way is to not look at the forum and the people in it as being biased and from a place of hate; that way, you can see meaning in things and the fun that people are having in the forum the way it should be and not view things from a favoritism point of view.

The problem of some members, including the OP, is that he’s too focused on trying to fish out errors where they don't really matter; if not, the thread in question should have not even attracted such negative attention as the OP is viewing it.

OP what you saying do happens a lot but what can you do to stop it from happening? Nothing, the thing is the merit you are talking about is their merit and they can give whoever they feel like giving (higher ranked members like them, is true but is their merit to give) same goes to every other member starting from the lowest ranked member, it happens that way because is easy to spot the bad eggs. You can't blame anybody when they start talking about merit abuse on lower ranked member because these days the number of accounts we have in the Forum are more than the main users, they do talk about the merit abuse because of account farming, so OP do you blame them when they start calling out members who merit other members who their account look suspicious? Honestly shit are really happening in the Forum and is really hard to clean it up, and I also agree with what you said too from the beginning of your post OP.

Know this anyone can choose to send merit to anyone they want Aslong they are not abusing it , not all quality post can recieve merit for as there are quality post that’s how there are quality posts that has more quality than others . And some post can be quality post but a certain users won’t find it, helpful at that moment if you want to earn merit try  stepping up your game .

This is not about knowing the person, it is about your enemies looking for loopholes which they can use against you but they are not seeing anything, that is the reason they will look for anything to try to defame you, but what they are bringing is not good enough but you are far better than them. A good poster that does not care will not even bother about it but let the forum be as it is and get involved in sharing the cakes or not bothered in taking part of the cake but but partying.

This is not new, my brother. If I started sharing what I see daily, I could be writing pages. It is what it is, and this forum is not different from what is happening outside there, unless we want to pretend. And if you can't change it, I urge you to turn a blind eye, otherwise, you might be hurt.

What can change this example here is only when there is a limit/cap to the number of merits a legendary member can accept when they get to that rank, since that created such abuse. Otherwise, expect more.

It is just a forum, why stepping up the game when it is just about learning and contributing? Me for example I am trying my best but I noticed that merit distribution is a bit biased on this forum but many good posts are not left behind. You will see some people giving themselves the merit like water but that does not mean that we that are not receiving many merits are not posting in a good way. But I still see many good posts that received merits.

OP you need to understand that merit distribution is not moderated in this forum, anyone can decide to send merit to any post he feels has the quality he wants, the 2 members you mentioned are not even a merit source, so I see no point in looking at how quality the posts they are meriting is.
As long as merit distributions are not moderated by the Admin or moderators anyone can send any amount of merit to any post.

Nutilda is a merit source. I cannot also call Dirtykeyboard his alt, and from nutilda's response, anyone is welcome to sign up for the show, including the coward OP with his main account and try his hand on getting the 50. I think OP is just fighting Nutilda, this is not a case in my opinion.

Of course OP didn't even read that thread, it's an interesting read, Dirtykeyboard blew my mind there as well with his experiment, even though I didn't really understand everything because I'm not much aquatinted to AI development and only read once, but the pointers were spot on.

Even though whom the OP is complaining about isn't a merit source, he has the right to give as much merit to any post he thinks deserve merit, because what you may see as quality post might not be what someone else may see as quality post. So, anyone who has Smerit has the right to give a post any amount of merit depending on how generous the person is.

I saw a thread by Nutildah, they have locked the thread now but tell me what DirtyKeyboard said here that deserves 50 merits and that was not enough, DirtyKeyboard returned the Smerits back to Nutildah in a garbage post they made in the WO thread.

Such a bias forum full of gangs and sentimental people, bunch of hypocrites.

Merit is issued at discretion, and sometimes what you do not consider quality or reasonable to another person may completely be reasonable to another person. I once received 50 merits from one reply in this forum, and at the time of making the reply, I really did not have the intention of receiving merits or even consider that anybody would see it as reasonable enough.

Don't get bitter if you have not created enough value to be in the position where you receive merits from random users in the forum as encouragement; work harder and be original.
