Another ponzi scheme just crashed yesterday. read detailsNRC claimed to be a read and earn platform that reward users for reading, referring and do daily tasks. Of course, it's not free. You pay for registration and upgrade your account to vip level. The more you upgrade with higher amount, the more you earn. Now the website (I don't want to reveal it) is not longer accessible since yesterday. Thousands of people are affected, billions of naira reportedly gone just like that. They claim it's maintenance but we know it already because we are familiar with the game. Red flags were there from day one but as usual, people ignored it. It guarantee returns, pay before earning and also relies heavily on referrals. These are obvious signs of ponzi and potential scam site but people are looking for quick money forgetting that wealth is built slowly. Some of the victims are blaming government for not providing jobs for them and that's why they want to take the opportunity. That's not an excuse. If you have money to invest in ponzi schemes, you definitely have money to invest in legit asset like bitcoin but they prefer quick profit over patience. This is 2026. We've seen enough of this incident and we suppose to have learn enough already. If they don't want to learn the proper way, they probably deserve what they got.

We all know it’s greediness, the red flags were there since day one but they just ignored it, some of them even recognize it as a Ponzi scheme but went on to invest thinking they’ll fool the scammers.
And talking about it crashing, I think I saw somewhere in social media that it crashed last week? And still some people continue putting their money in this thing..
Some Nigerian will never learn and it’s actually very pathetic. Also the government has a part in this, the agency created for this kinda stuff aren’t doing their jobs…EFCC They’re supposed to take action against this scams but instead of them to put energy to identify all these Ponzi schemes and try to stop it they rather channel to something else of their interest..

Lack of information is affecting many people in the world today, for them to have been requested of paying a particular amount of money to got registered and on board shows that it is a scam already, because they are online platforms that we pay you for performing some particular task but will never request you to force make any payment either to start own to proceed in ranking up, a good example is this forum, many online platforms will allow you to perform some particular task and you earn from doing so, a legitimate one will not ask you to pay before you could start.

Just like @Hypnotizer mentioned, greed is the reason why many people engage even after knowing fully well that it is not a trusted online scheme. I heard of this rumor yesterday and it was a truly devastating moment for many involved, those who depended on it after investing their life savings and those who had to borrow to invest too.
A friend of mine tried introducing me but I was never interested because I have seen similar schemes as this before. Recently before the crash, users were promised a refund of their investment into their wallet which instigated the greed for more people to register. It was a smart ponzi scheme and so many Nigerians are victims to this, I really hope that some people do not result in committing suicide or doing something stupid.

There is nothing to be surprise about because it obvious that those people who get scammed are not children and they are adults who worked so hard to make money. I don’t know why people are so greedy to the extent where a set of people or a group of people will tell them to put money and earn more than what they invest in just a days or a months, to be honest I don’t know about it if not when i stated seeing the news in the Internet, the surprise part is that many people in my state were also involved. This is why illiterate and ignorant is not good for the country, many people that invest in that thing NRC are people who don’t know anything about online things, they are set of people who are desperate to make money in time, i did not mean that those who are educated are not affected but most people that were affected are illiterate people, the funny part that makes me laugh is that the team leader of the NRC of my state was also scam , this will be a good example for those who think they are wise and smarter than other.

It's such a coincidence that I was scrolling through TikTok few minutes ago and came across a video of a lady that said she lost 500 thousand naira on the platform and then I'm stumbling on this thread. When it comes to making quick money Nigerians will always fall for those type of tricks because all they care about is getting their money multiplied without stress but they forget that ponzi schemes has a track record of not being profitable in the long run. I don't feel sorry for people that lose their money in such because they know better but still choose to ignore the red flags.

The advent of Ponzi schemes and their modes of operations have been in existence since a long time ago and each one that comes, goes with people's money. When it crashes, there will be wailing and after all said and done, everyone will get used to the loss and movement on and also move unto another scheme and invest again. Most Nigerians believe that those that loose their money are not smart enough in the Ponzi game but this is not true.
Ponzi scheme will never be a good investment because there's no point investing in something you're aware that it will crash someday. They take all the risk because most of them who think they understand Ponzi believe that the higher the risk, the greater the chances to make it better. I just wish Nigerians can realise that there's no true shortcuts to success and start working legitimately to make money.
At the end, I still blame the government policies, the bad governance and the economic bottlenecks that render citizens almost financial slaves. Poverty is evil and a poor person will attempt anything possible to make money.and this is why scammers are on the rampage. Always caution your loved ones on the dangers of Ponzi because that's the only way you won't get disturbed when they get scammed. We should look outside the government and start fighting for our selves.

At this point I won’t say people that lost their money in this Ponzi scheme didn’t know what they were doing, they obviously knew, red flags were very visible, they also knew it would crash along the line, so I don’t think they can ever learn because even if another one comes up tomorrow they will still partake in it. I think they should stop blaming the government for their negligence indulging in Ponzi schemes, because even individuals with jobs are still doing Ponzi, everyone is looking for quick money and more money. So that’s the way they will keep doing more Ponzi Scheme, making quick money and loosing money at the same time rather than investing their money wisely into something meaningful which will bring better returns in the future that will help them yield the profit they are looking for. Impatience and greed is the only reason why people partake in Ponzi schemes, knowing fully well what it is.

I think the question is when are some people going to learn, a lot of people have already learned their own lessons and so they don't get involved in this kind of activities while there are also thousands of newbies who have not had any experience and so are likely to fall victim to this kind of things, i lost a huge amount around 2021/2022 and the company I lost my money to looked very legit and have operated for more than a year before I decided to invest and that was when they crashed. Because of that experience, I find it so had to joining any of those schemes where you have to pay money to subscribe or upgrade your account or refer to earn.

Did you know that people I talked to about bitcoin but refused to give it an interest or go doing their research which at lest should have ignite an interest from them. It is same people that it was yesterday when they began complaining of the overdue updating of the system after the crash of this ponzi scheme called NRC that was when I knew they were participating in it with big amount of money in hundreds to million naira but they refuse trying it with Bitcoin cause I made sure I told them it is not the common a get profit quick kind of scheme. People for their ignorance will chose to do schemes that promises fast profits on investment, referrals and what have you. The rate of greed plus absence of knowledge about the true source of these schemes is really doing great harm to some Nigerians and they still do not learn from past experiences.

I won't say the cause of these is lack of information. Some people have a very clear understanding how risky ponzi scheme is, some have even fallen victim. still they dont learn thier lessons. This saying that says "To make it in life you must take risk" are really affecting some individuals. It was the same yesterday that one of my friend who was into this so called Nrc (ponsi scheme) lost his money, i asked him if he has learnt his lessons, he confidently told me that to make it in life you have to take risk. I laughed at him, there is a big difference between risky and being foolish. some people are aware that some day it was going to crash, but still they dont care, they still go on puting thier money. Atleast these will serve as lesson to those who are considering giving ponzi scheme a chance

So many crashes has happened starting from the famed MMM that saw many persons lose so much and then to others like Whatsapp gifting groups which suffered same fate. Still, people fail to learn but simply ignore the risk involved and willfully get involved in these ponzi schemes because of quick money.
It is until people learn to abandon get quick rich schemes and actually embrace investment plans that require steady and consistent investment plan, mostly one that involves accumulation of Bitcoin, only then can they get good wealth and returns on investment instead of trusting ponzi schemes to multiply their cash faster than normal.
Guess what, another version of NRC will launch in the coming week and we will still see crowd of persons willing to make a jump in just to cashout big time before it crashes, but the reality is that they never know when the crash occurs and will almost always lose their funds.

If you have money to invest in ponzi schemes, you definitely have money to invest in legit asset like bitcoin but they prefer quick profit over patience.
Yes, Ponzi is not free. You put money to invest in it and expect what you will get likewise investing in legit business. But do you know the funny part of it? Those who are investing in it are intentional about it. They know the risk in it but because they want quick money, they want to "quickly" cash out before the crash. Those who call themselves experts in Ponzi schemes do background research on the domain of the site and they work with it timing the expiration of the site domain. Unfortunately, those scammers too are smart, they now shut down even when the expiration has not reached. I know people who usually invest in Ponzi schemes intentionally. They introduce it to you and if you tell them it is ponzi, they tell you that they are aware and that they will cash out before it crashes. So, most times people who invest in Ponzi do it because they don't want to be patient for legit money, they prefer going about convincing people to invest as they grow in the network.

Some Nigerian will never learn and it’s actually very pathetic. That is definitely true because after clicking the link on the thread and reading the whole story it just got done on me that Nigerians will not just learn from experience but keep doing thesame mistakes which all boils down to the fact that people wants money by all means which is the greed factor. How can someone tell you to deposit money on a platform and tell you to be reading books online and doing so called tasks in return for large payout. Without the money even been put to investments purpose, it really gullible to me there was even a VIP package on the so called site am trying to believe how individuals will fall into this type of scam. Until people leave the zeal to getting rich quick there will be still these types of scam that will continue to take place.

You call it mistake, but they don’t see it as a mistake. Mistakes happen due to lack of knowledge which results in taking wrong decisions or judgement. These people have a full knowledge of what this is about, they even know when it will crash and try to cash out a lot before it even crashes and even when it crashes before then, if another one comes again, they still put their money again. I won’t call that a mistake, because we are meant to correct mistakes and not allow it happen again but instead the greed factor keeps allowing them do the same thing.

Their is a parable that says that just because you are tasty, doesn't mean that you are going to drink a water that you are aware that it has been poisoned. Most people will blame this on hardship that people are going through, but I don't think that their is enough valid reason for anyone to be aware that this is a ponzi scheme, and still went ahead to risk his money in it, believing that before the thing will crash, they would have withdraw their money and also make some money from it, is that not stupidity at it peak?
Am saying this because I have seen some individuals makes such statement when you advice them that what they are doing is a ponzi scheme, that they might lose everything, but they will choose to ignore your because their level of ignorance and greed has gone up beyond control, so it's because of that I no longer feel sorry for those that are affected because they will never learn from their mistakes or from people's mistakes.

With only what you said they do, is something a person would no that is a scam because I don't see how a person would be getting paid for just an ordinary video they're watching that someone could find on other media platforms, is unfortunate that even when the scamming handwriting is written all over the place but people will not see it because of how money has eating there realization mentality. People should stop thinking that they can outperform those scammers by venturing into their platform to make early money because it would definitely caught the person, Nigeria is too hard to be working and risking it on bunzi scheme.

I don't know whether it's Nigeria alone that does this Ponzi scheme a lot. Because at times, I begin to ask why Nigerians? Why do they keep falling victim to ponzi scheme every time. If we should count the number of this ponzi scheme that come and go in Nigeria, we will begin to count in hundreds of them that have exited as scams out of Nigeria. This is an unfortunate matter to say, that our country has become a rugpulled ground for all these scammers to promote their shady projects that promise huge ROI, at the end of the day, they will disappear, and nothing will be done to them. This is no longer funny because our people are losing money. It's a hard time our government should step in, to this, rather than keep mute like it's not part of the country problem. In other news, the Tag Ponzi office at Orlu, Imo state were looted by people. Link to the video: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1DygUZRcUC/

I'm still surprised that in 2026 people are still falling for ponzi scheme scammed, this is making it the third time this is happening this year, and many are still investing in it ,how gullible people could be, and I know before the year ends 4 will still come and mend away with their money ,since MMS crashed,I know how hard it was for me to recover and I don't see myself falling vitim again for them ,but because of greediness anytime, any day my country people will still fall for it ,it's really sad knowing people don't learn ,but it's all good, they should keep wasting money that way, out of greed they have been falling victims for years till this year,it's really well.
