i am curious to know just as you. what was the motivating force that made the early adopters of bitcoin to invest in it?
was it due to fate which we can call luck or they had good judgment or foresight to know that it was a good project or they were just risk takers? i really want to know what was going on in their mind

Many things converged together. They were lucky to be exposed to Bitcoin in earliest years in Bitcoin history, around 2012. They were determinant to take action with their money. Yes, they took risk too. They possibly learned well about Bitcoin or they did not learn, just took risk. Generally they did not all become rich with their decisions in 2012. Some lost their coins, some sold early, and some held their coins a long time to become millionaires or billionaires.

No body can categorically tell you what exactly was the motivation except those who actually were part of it, folks here can just tell you based on their own assumptions and condition. For me I'll say decentralization should be the biggest motivation when you know you can make transaction without limitation of boarders and any unnecessary institutional involvement or restrictions, just you and the person you are doing business with directly. That wasn't possible before bitcoin came, therefore If you ask me I just tell you that privacy, control and bridge of limitations was the major motivation. A lot never knew bitcoin was going to be what it is today, they just wanted to have their freedom and they did try new things and it just paid off.

Some of the early adopters had believed in bitcoin because it was decentralized, while some never really believed in bitcoin, they just invested in it for investing sake or because of fear of missing out (FOMO) they were not the risk takers. There are early adopters whom i call the risk takers, these people never invested in bitcoin because they believed in the project, they never invested because of (FOMO) they invested with the mindset of if the project succeed find and good, if it does not fine too.

I would like think that the guys and gals who got into Bitcoin back then and who are still active did so because they saw (foresight) the potential it had with the offering stated in the Whitepaper.
I would like to think that they also did so without the realisation/belief that its value would be $100,000+ per BTC or was it purely with the hope that it would feach such heights?
its all good either way by me but if it was out of belief in the project regardless of the market value then I hold those people in even higher regard.

People who bought Bitcoin early had different reasons. Some just for the fun of it. Others may have seen potential in it. But mostly fun. The early adopters were somewhat investors. If they were, Bitcoin would have exploded as far back as 2012 or 2013. Another set of people could just be the developers, miners. Maybe fans. I won't call it fate cause I don't know. Seems weird. Those that didn't key into it are now what?

In 2012, when bitcoin adoption has increased to some extent. I think you can read about the reason CZ said he sold his house to invest in bitcoin. Some people read bitcoin white paper and saw something great about it in the future. Although, some people will just want to try their luck. People can not be the same or have the same thinking.

In 2012? I think thats the time when the first speculators entered the market. Before that, in the really early days around 2009 to 2011, it wasnt even about making money because Bitcoin barely had a price. The people buying or mining it back then were mostly cypherpunks, cryptographers, and tech nerds who were only interested in the idea of it.
By the time 2012 and 2013 rolled around, you started getting the massive risk-takers. These people definitely had a mix of incredible foresight and flat-out luck.

If you look at the early traders you would notice that most of them were actually developers so they understood exactly what a magnificent innovation that Satoshi was building and they took action by investing into bitcoin. Also some were actually part of early node operators and the reason why. Others were through the advocacy by some investors and since mostly this were people tired of centralization and wanted more freedom they actually got into it too. For others it was for profit sake and they simply took a little luck and invested small plus some got it from giveaways or bounties.

I can say that those early adopters risked their money to keep holding Bitcoin.. because in the early days of Bitcoin, not many people trusted Bitcoin, but they were the opposite, they still believed that Bitcoin had value and was very worth investing in the long term. I'm not saying that all of them ended up becoming millionaires because many of them sold their Bitcoin long before it reached its current value.. but for those who still hold despite the uncertainty and volatility were the ones who benefited the most and they deserve to enjoy the rewards of their conviction and patience.

I can tell its fate because the fact that they are also clueless in their investment, and they have no idea what it will be in the future, so most likely they only invest because they have this belief that bitcoin will somehow be the future, everyone's future in the crypto market.
This is also the first decentralized tool so people get impressed on it and take some risk of their hard-earned money as they put their fate into bitcoin.

They're wise and did all the research. There was no hype at all that pushes them to invest because they're in it for the potential of it despite the huge risk. Bitcoin was on a huge scrutiny during that time but the once who have stayed were able to make themselves worthy of the profits they have made. Others might say that it's luck but with the patience, risk and effort they've made. I don't think that it's luck.

How about a little bit of everything Fate for stumbling upon it one way or the other Foresight because they saw potential and barely cost anything to own. Not to mention not everybody that have it expected it to succeed Some had to go find their keys when they saw it's success. At the end of the day reasons differs I can't tell since I'm barely a toddler.

I will begin to say that I don't know what triggered their anxieties because I was not closely to any of them that adopted Bitcoin earlier then and with an insight or diligence research, it was out of their fair judgement that monetary values can possibly be digitalized. I don't think if it was fully trusted then since it is Decentralized that is why Bitcoin from its earliest days were not bought but acquired freely just by performing some common online tasks. Laszlo Hanyecz broke the first record of using Bitcoin for an exchange as a means of payment by using 10,000 BTC to buy 2 pizzas in 2010. If we have to figure out the most risk bearier of all time, then it should be Jeremy Sturdivant who had the gut to accept the payment offer while Bitcoin was just traded with few rates of fractionthe with the market being very less of concern for peoples interests. So that very event strived the coin before the public with the foresight to find it worthy. Nevertheless, even as today that Bitcoin had global adoption todays, adopters still treats it risky due to its volatility.

I believe most are tech savvy that tried this digital coin just because. I don't think there should be reasons behind because e some just stumbled on.

i am curious to know just as you. what was the motivating force that made the early adopters of bitcoin to invest in it?
They invested their money in Bitcoin because they saw its immense potential. If they hadn't seen a future in Bitcoin, I don't think they would have allocated their money to it in the first place. So, it could be said that these early adopters were willing to accept the risk that Bitcoin might fail in the future. But it turned out their conviction was correct, Bitcoin continues to grow in adoption and value over the long term, and they ultimately reaped the rewards of their patience and willingness to take a risk when the outcome was still uncertain.

And I will say early investors had different reasons for investing in Bitcoin. Some of the investors conducted research to understand Bitcoin and saw it as a solution to be free from traditional currency.
Some of the investors were just risk-takers who decided to take the risk, and fortunately, they were lucky to make a good return on their investment in Bitcoin.
And I will say some people invested in Bitcoin because it was cheap at that time, and some people had the opportunity to mine Bitcoin, and this is how the early investors got into Bitcoin investment.

Do you know what the price of Bitcoin was in its early days? The price was so low that anyone who invested in it did not care much about it, but very less did. That is the reason why many forgot their wallet's seed phrase or security keys, and some even forgot that they had invested in crypto in their early days. This is why a lot of bitcoin supply is dead or locked permanently. That supply can not be recovered until they find their seed phrase. Besides this, do you know about the pizza story, a guy who paid too many bitcoins just for two pizzas? Do a little research on it then you will come to know how people used to treat Bitcoin in its early days. But with the passage of time bitcoin growth and adoption started to increase widely, and those who were careless today regret that.

It would have made more sense if respondents could choose more than one option. I would have chosen foresight because some people had an early understanding about the prospects of Bitcoin. Maybe after studying the innovation, they believed it had a bright future. Fate would have been my next pick because some people got Bitcoin and abandoned it in wallets. They were fortunate to recover it after the price skyrocketed. The next option I would have chosen is risk-taking. Some people are naturally high-risk takers who are comfortable with investing in assets even when they are not sure of how it will turn out.
