Is he right from what you think?
Of course both gambling and investing have risks, but they are not the same thing. Because investing involves owning at least one asset and the potential for its value to increase over time, but if you lose at a casino game, that money is gone. And encouraging large bets is even riskier, because the losses are much greater if you make a mistake. So I would say it is better to view gambling as entertainment, not as a means of income or investment.
Fair point, gambling can’t be called investing at all because we aren't holding any assets or hoping for future growths in any assets instead it's just bets on some sports which the outcome rely on luck totally and nothing else but in investing we find a reliable token and invest in which of course we know it will eventually increase in price and that way our invested money would increase and we will make more money but it just requires lot of time and patience.

Both gambling and investing has it own risk but I’ll consider that the risk of gambling is much more higher to that of investing because in gambling we rely on luck but in investing there are some factors we can rely on it just depends on what coin you are investing in.

Gambling is not an investment but most gamblers that gambles for money sees it and believes it is an investment and that one day it will yield it profit and that is why they keep chasing their loses without stopping or changing their mindset that gambling is for fun and not for money .

Make people around you to understand that gambling wins are not guaranteed and gambling is for entertainment not for making money. .
Their brains are basically empty, they are stupid, and so they consider gambling as an investment. They think that it is a type of investment, where there will be profit today or tomorrow. They always keep playing in the hope of profit but their investment never brings them profit, rather it always causes loss for them.
Gambling is a pastime, and investment is a place to achieve success where one has to use one's skills to achieve success. But they make gambling a place to achieve success, but where there is no place for skill but everything depends on luck. And they consider this also as an investment. I do not know if this type of gambling investor has ever achieved success, I do not think they have ever. But it is certain that 99.99% of gambling investors have just lost everything.

The truth is that whenever a gambler begins thinking that gambling is an investment, it's either he's already getting addicted or he won a given amount around that period and that believe also lead to addiction. People are difficult to convince out of their own beliefs so you can only suggest and let them make their choices. My biggest fear about gambling is how it messes with the psyche of anyone that gets addicted. If truly gambling is an investment, then addicted Gamblers should be the richest but it's usually opposite of that. Making the right choice can Keep you up against unnecessary losses that would delay your goals. Even after winning most bets, most Gamblers use back the entire win to gamble more in a bid to increase the amount and in most cases the money gets trapped. At last, a cumulative result of gambling tends to the negative meaning no gain or even if you see gain, it may not be equivalent to what a real investor would see in the future.

At last, a cumulative result of gambling tends to the negative meaning no gain or even if you see gain, it may not be equivalent to what a real investor would see in the future.

Not everyone who is addicted to gambling, or someone lucky enough to win a few time sees gambling as an investment. Many gambling addict know perfectly well that gambling is still gambling and that their addiction is a problem. But they keep gambling because they cannot control themselves or keep hoping to win back what they have already lost.

In my opinion, people who believe gambling is an investment are simply misinformed. They overlook the basic concept, the risk, and long term edge, and focus only on the possibility of making money. So I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with gambling addiction or whether they have recently won some money.

An Investment is something that you put your money into with the aim of making profits, even though that's the same thing we expect In gambling we cannot name gambling as an investment. When you invest in a business you can be 90 percent sure that it is going to be in a specific direction just as you planned but anything that has to do with gambling is just something that doesn't sure any form of guarantee and with that it is not classified as an investment, you can just continue calling it a game of luck.

Have a colleague at work place who keeps saying that gambling is also investment that in gambling whatever amount you use to gamble can actually yield back the results, he emphasize on that if you are gambling you should do the best to use a better amount to place your bet so that if you win then you gonna have good pay out.
I personally don't see a correlation between gambling and investment because in our more general understanding, investment is a step towards long-term growth, not just profit in the short term. In my personal experience, I've rarely seen gamblers become successful in the long run, except for casino site owners who develop gambling as a business. Gambling becomes an investment for the owner depending on how the casino site grows and user interest increases.

I would almost certainly disagree that gambling is correlated with investment. I've engaged in both, and when calculating the amount of money I've spent, I'd choose investment over gambling, even though I occasionally bet on certain forms of gambling. So, there's almost no similarity between gambling and investment for any individual involved.
