Have a colleague at work place who keeps saying that gambling is also investment that in gambling whatever amount you use to gamble can actually yield back the results, he emphasize on that if you are gambling you should do the best to use a better amount to place your bet so that if you win then you gonna have good pay out.
I personally don't see a correlation between gambling and investment because in our more general understanding, investment is a step towards long-term growth, not just profit in the short term. In my personal experience, I've rarely seen gamblers become successful in the long run, except for casino site owners who develop gambling as a business. Gambling becomes an investment for the owner depending on how the casino site grows and user interest increases.
I would almost certainly disagree that gambling is correlated with investment. I've engaged in both, and when calculating the amount of money I've spent, I'd choose investment over gambling, even though I occasionally bet on certain forms of gambling. So, there's almost no similarity between gambling and investment for any individual involved.
