Well, crypto, as name suggests, attracts certain kind of people whose interests or passions are aligned with its ideals, but you'll have to contend with people without the interests or passions. It's like having people who are passionate about science or cooking joining tech and cooking forums or communities, and all of a sudden it start booming, lots of money begins to flow in and out, then the guys with little to zero genuine interest who mostly care about how much they will make, invade the space and displace lots of the passionate ones whose drives help made the communitties what they are. Communities are supposed to be for people who share similar values or interests. Ofcourse, consumers with different values are likely to join to use the products made by the communities rather than to work or be the producers since they could deviate from the values of the community. They could only be allowed to work in minor or casual roles that don't affect the community's value. Unfortunately and for some "strange" reasons they are allowed to work in important roles like so called influencers roles..
The passionate ones are likely to do better science and cooking because they care about this things, most likely for the sake of using them to solve real challenges or issues they encounter in society while growing up. The less passionate ones care less hence prioritize on money regardless of what they are paid for.
It's important that roles go to the passionate ones. You can find them by the kind of things they love discussing or posting. Things that are from their hearts and that they are consistent in. These are the kinds of people who make things better... Those who prioritize on money and don't care whether what they promote kills or not can ruin it for all.
Everyone has roles they ought to discover and start serving, but most people choose to stay idle or do other people's role mostly due to monetary rewards. If you remove the rewards, they will disappear.
Interestingly, there are many opportunities or roles that are yet to be developed, if you join their communities and they start doing well, the money lovers who lazily refuse to join and grow their real communities will invade them to reap what genuine ones have sown. If you do not stop them, they will eat up the whole plants like pests. Sometimes it's abit discouraging to know that such parasite-like behaviors exist. No matter what underdeveloped community you choose to join to help grow, they will eventually invade and mess it up
I believer whatever members promote on their signature spaces should be what they are passionate about. For example, I promote instant, decentralized, privacy related exchanges because I care about non-custodial, sovereign, independence, freedom and privacy so much that I almost post about them regularly on this forum. Then imagine people who never like such ideals promoting similar/thesame things. And it's important to promote what isn't bad or harmful to people who desire good things. Even if they don't care or want to be harmed, you shouldn't be the one to give them the poison.
