Bitcoin is now very established, not involved in DarkNet Markets anymore only for such shady purpose Any currency can be used by any group of hackers to perpetrate their evil attacks on any target they have in mind, but it is important that we bring out the image of Bitcoin in the right manner and letting others to know that it is not intended for some illicit use some of these scammers uses bitcoin for. Bitcoin os not a shady market asset anymore, Was it before now? it is highly appreciated by BlackRock holdings as an asset and many more tech companies have bought Bitcoin. Someone like me and you together with this institutions make up the internal network of investors and this is what we expect and to even see beyond, as adoption continuous like never before. Is Bitcoin already established in your opinion?
You already have an answer to this in your second statement which says bitcoin is now very well established.

If by established you mean that it has achieved the expected or desirable adoption, IMO no, because even if all these big funds and companies hold Bitcoins worth billions of dollars, it isn't widely accepted as a means of payment, which is what I link real adoption with. If you ask whether it has achieved a legal and market status enough to consider it successful as an active suitable for investment, then yes. So, please, could you define what is to be "established" for you?

What do you even mean by all this? making it a suitsble asset to be traded. It has always been suitable to be traded. Bitcoin os not a shady market asset anymore It was never a shady asset before Because a pen was used for murder doesn't automatically mean the pen is evil. Is Bitcoin already established in your opinion? Adoption wise we are still growing Understanding what Bitcoin is and why is quite low as an average compared to adoption. Bitcoin itself is already a working decentralised money.

No, this is not what real adoption is only about. People have preferred to just hold bitcoin than to use it for payment. If more people are buying bitcoin, that is also adoption. Institutions are buying bitcoin than before and countries have started thinking about buying it more, United States has bitcoin in reserves already. These are all adoptions.

It takes about 13 years since a first Bitcoin Spot ETF application till the batch approval in the USA in January 2024. It's latest massive step and achievement for Bitcoin, and it has actually brought Bitcoin to the mainstream or at least more nearly to the mainstream. Bitcoin snowball started since 2009, its snowball effects become considerable already and it will not stop here but will continue growing and exploding more. I'm sure that in 20 years there will either be very large transaction volume or no volume.

In terms of what we judge "established" when saying established in terms of recognition it may look a little better but we know that this still cannot be categorized as established but certainly the development has been much better.
When we talk about recognition and fud about evil does not mean that bitcoin is evil because we certainly know bitcoin is just as the object of those who are not responsible in its transactions. If this is categorized as a crime then maybe fiat will be much more evil than bitcoin but why the treatment is differentiated.
The darknet market or whatever it is called is just a small picture of the people who are not responsible for the bitcoin they have but that does not mean the bitcoin is bad because the person to blame here is not the bitcoin.

You judge Bitcoin growth by a fraction of investors involvement. BlackRock began holding in 2024, prior to this time we have had other big players in the market like Strategy formerly MicroStrategy has been active since August 2020 and their current holding still surpasses that of BlackRock . I am downplaying BlackRock achievement but drawing your attention to the fact that Bitcoin has had tremendous grounds even before BlackRock joined the train.

So just because those institutions accept Bitcoin, does that mean Bitcoin isn't a shady asset? What kind of logic is that? Bitcoin has never been a shady asset. It is a decentralized digital currency accessible to everyone. Even though some people use it for illicit activities, that doesn't automatically make Bitcoin a "shady asset" --- because if we follow that logic, cash is used much more frequently in criminal activities, which would mean cash should also be considered a "shady asset", but that conclusion clearly doesn't hold.

I don’t agree with you. Many people would support me in saying that they don’t want Bitcoin to become a payment method. We know that Bitcoin’s supply is fixed, while the demand to accumulate it is increasing day by day. Therefore, we want Bitcoin to be treated as a valuable asset. We don’t want to spend our Bitcoin while saving worthless fiat currency instead. As for Bitcoin’s adoption, I believe it has already achieved its purpose. Bitcoin is popular all over the world, and many companies and countries support Bitcoin transactions. Even my grandparents have heard about it from reading the newspaper. So yes, I would say Bitcoin is doing pretty well in the market.

There are still some Bitcoin seizures occurring even as institutions begin to adopt it, so I still believe Bitcoin remains a favorite in some corners of the darknet.
That's not a complete measure of stability if we only use legal lens which varies. For example, if your government banned Bitcoin, then all Bitcoin users there would be considered criminals.

It can serve as both and nothing stops anyone from using it as a payment of or take advantage of the investment opportunity as an asset but I can agree that Bitcoin has served more better as valuable asset than a payment option, in my locality people still prefer the fiat payment method but value Bitcoin as an asset. If you notice, more institutions are tropping in than before and they're not after Bitcoin as a payment option but an asset although it is thriving in gambling industry as a payment option.

My opinion might differ from others, here is my take: Even though BTC has begun to gain widespread acceptance with major institutions now adopting it, this does not make it an established asset. Fluctuation in BTC is extreme, some time ago we saw BTC reach a new all time high record. So, what now? If someone invested their entire fortune at the all time high price, they would now have lost nearly half of their wealth. It's not something that can be called established in my opinion.

Is Bitcoin already established in your opinion?
Bitcoin has already established itself in some limited ways. It's stable within its Blockchain network. This means there aren't any major issues in the BTC chain except when the network is congested. Bitcoin has lasted 17 years, which is pretty amazing. It has grown not as a transaction tool but as a store of value, which is very far from Satoshi's vision. Bitcoin is still not widely recognized as a transaction tool. So it's comfortable in certain situations and not comfortable in others.

It sounds like Bitcoin has to be adopted and endorsed by some centralized parties in order to be considered established. It's like you need their approval to consider Bitcoin legit.
I believe even before such centralized parties started investing in BTC, it was already established. Bitcoin has always had a lot of potential and was solid in the early years. That is the reason why such institutional investors came into the play.
Still, it's used for criminal activites too, just like every forms and concepts of money... Therefore, it's not an exclusive detrimental characteristic of Bitcoin.

It doesn't seem to be fully established yet, as many people still view this asset class as speculative. However, they are also paying more attention to it, and we often see BTC as digital gold and as part of an investment portfolio.
I believe that will be the time when global adoption is widespread and many countries have offered it as a medium of exchange. Currently, this situation is not yet widespread in all countries.

Sadly, what you think is wrong. Bitcoin is used for both good and bad purposes and it's the same as fiat money. It depends on what is the intention of the person using it. But of course most of us here are using it for the good. Is Bitcoin already established in your opinion?
It is.

Is Bitcoin already established in your opinion?
In fact, Bitcoin has long been viewed by various groups of investors as an investment asset or as a fairly well-established digital commodity, even though there are several things that may seem like there is still debate, that is not one of the reasons. We can see from various actions and behavior towards Bitcoin from Institutional acceptance, nicknamed digital gold, adoption and so on as well as other support which is quite positive so that Bitcoin can be said to be an established asset class, including for all groups.

Bitcoin has been established as an alternative to fiat currency as an asset.Last 15 years It has been banned by different countries many times has been in a bear market, the price has decreased a lot but still Bitcoin has survived. People have now started transacting through Bitcoin. More people have their trust in Bitcoin than before. But Bitcoin has not been fully established as a global money. Because there are still many people who cannot easily accept the volatility of Bitcoin's price. But maybe in the next few years Bitcoin will become acceptable to everyone.

Gold, Bitcoin as digital gold is only comparison when people feel like they need to do that but the fact is Bitcoin and gold are different asset classes with different existence forms. Nickname as digital gold does not make Bitcoin similar to gold, but anyway if anyone are interested in such comparison, they can read in this article or book. The bullish case for Bitcoin. In this book, the author Vijay has some comparisons between gold and Bitcoin.
