Children below the age of 15 are now banned from using social media in France; this is to avoid further exposure that leads to vulnerability to what the opened to, and this access has been restricted to children who unknowingly reveal some information or are exposed to certain things online.
If only my country would do the same thing as France I will be very happy, social media is corrupting children, especially those who are underage. A chlid should only be allow to access social media when they turn 18, at least someone who is 18 should be able to distinguish between bad and good.

A lot of things are being thought online, especially on social media, and misleading things can be thought on social media. France just took a step to prevented under age children from having access to informations that may mislead them, because a child that has not turn 18 may not be able to distinguish between what is wrong and what is right.

I’m not an advocate for teens on social media or anything, but this seems like a bit of overreach by the government. It should ultimately be up to parents whether or not their children should be able to use social media. It can be useful for clubs and activities. Even families use social media to communicate.
I don't think it's an overreach by the France government. The rate at which teens are getting exposed to explicit graphic contents on the internet is alarming. It is not good for a child within age 15 to get used to adult contents online especially now that people are going crazy on social media all for monetization.

Children no longer listen to their parents and no matter how you advice them, they will prefer to do those things they learnt and saw on social media than heed to the advice of their parents. If we want to have a society with good moral standard then bans like this is necessary. It is true that families communicate through social media but it is a good thing to moderate those who make use of them.

Adolescents within this range of 15 years are the ones doing the most on social media, most of them as a result of their body build up they think they are grown ups to do some certain things without knowing that their body size is only deceiving them. Social media now is where they learn almost everything from ranging from twerking their waist, boots and showing off some very delicate part of their bodies that are capable of tempting older men into luring them to bed without knowing they are only 15 and this has cause a high rate of abuses around the world.

Banning the kids is a good one and it will be easy to enforce with the help of police, the parents and schools where the kids spend most of their time, if the kids are not banned giving them something else to focus on may be hard for them to do but if the parents cooperates with the police to ensure they scare them to obey the order of the government they will see the need to focus more on educational materials which would help them to achieve their dreams.

The school environment should be monitored now if they want the development of the mindset of the kids cause after taking their focus off the social media they need to give them something more reasonable which would help to shape their life and make them to be more useful to the society.
Engaging them with something more reasonable will help them to be distract themselves from whatever thing that won't add to their growth or won't give meaning to their lives because kids likes it when they are given the chance or the opportunity to develop themselves, maybe enroll them into skills acquisition or something more challenging that will keep their minds busy, as they don't they won't be comfortable in showing their talents because they may feel like their voices can't be heard, that's why the duty of their parents its guide them and let them know the right path.

As far as I know social medias have always been forbidden for individuals below 18 years old. At least, when I was a minor, that was the rule. However, it has never prevented underage people from accessing and creating personal accounts on such platforms. I think it's not going to be different this time. France is an hypocritical country, and this is just another hypocritical law imposed by them with zero practical impact, with the exception they will reinforce their political correctness image towards the world.

You can teach your children to learn about Bitcoin and crypto, and also let them understand the essence of privacy,
Life shouldn't be about Bitcoin! Bitcoin! Bitcoin!

Social media contains positive resources and negative resources, but as a child, they choose to watch the negative ones that aren't helping them learn.

I wont stop speaking on the disadvantages of social media app monetization because children these days prefer to scroll on TIKTOK rather than using the educational materials share their. When I was growing up, one of my favorite TV channels was Discovery and documentaries. Learnt a lot about animals and the science of the world, but at present time, children prefer to watch other irrelevant things, including censored and adult content.
Yup! In contemporary arena of digital world, children as well as teenager are misusing social media platforms for the sake of more views and popularity on the name of entertainment. Even, today no gaming app is save for children it contains alot of vulgur content on the name of adds. In this way, children are adopting more negative things instead of educational and informative content. Even a customized youtube platform for children contains many inappropriate add content which lleft a lasting negative impact on their mentality. Additionally, it has numerous impacts on mental capability of children, they are using digital resources like chat gpt to complete their academic tasks instead of using their own capabilities. So, there should be  a controlled use of digital platforms for the well being of our future generations.

Most contents on social media are distractive, they are not educative, as much as adults might need social media to distract themselves from too many worries of life it is not very useful for children who don't have any financial responsibilities, at their tender age they are supposed to focus on their education, learn early skills to nurture their brains so that they can become productive adults in the future. A very young have no business with a smart phone because there are lots of adult contents on social media and because children are very inquisitive they will want to experiment meanwhile they are not intellectually matured to handle what they want to engage in.

France, is a peculiar case because of the many crypto related crimes, children can ignorantly go on social media to reveal private information about their parents crypto holdings and I'm sure that criminals in that country would always be at alert to get information about their next victims. Banning social media for under 15 years is a good initiative by the France, government.

I don't think we necessarily have to wait for the government to impose a ban. If you believe that social media is negatively impacting your children, you can proactively limit or monitor their social media use. Parent can also teach their children how to recognize misinformation and limit their exposure to inappropriate content.

The ban will be ineffective if parent don't take responsibility for supervising their children, as they can still find other way to access social media. Parental guidance and supervision remain the most important factor.

I will set to an extent that government are still trying in some countries to ensure that underage access to so many things are being prevented, but we should also know that they cannot be responsible for everything, this is where the roles of parents also comes in, in such a way that we must be able to know what our children are up to and the things they are exposed to online, guide and monitor them until we see that they don't do anything beyond our reach, I hope some other countries will also imbibe on this same act.

It was the rule as of then but in this age and time, is like it is forbidden for children not to use social media or even own a phone, is so crazy how things change so fast, not for good but for the ugly reasons. Parents should play a major role on this very decision the France government took (like I said before). Children can still break the law without any actions taken so this is just a word that is being said by the France government and if care is not taken some has already seen it as a joke because this is hard to monitor. Underage can't go around to get any gadgets on their own, they can make use of the phone at home from their elderly ones and less words will be said that won't stop them from secretly doing it again.

Anyone here who does not understand that this policy is not to save the children and only a pretext to ensure you have to show your papers in order to use social media is either a brain dead retard who does not belong in the bitcoin community that harps on about decentralization and anti censorship or they have taken too many doses of something they shouldn't have in the first place.

You can teach your children to learn about Bitcoin and crypto, and also let them understand the essence of privacy, while the random use of social media should be discouraged because the uncensored content they will come across on social media is not suitable for their age.

This is happening in France, and if we could recall how there have been increasing crime rates being traced to crypto-related attacks and kidnappings in diverse attempts, France is taking advanced steps to ensure that the citizens are safe from the assault of the public exposures that is made through what they do online unknowingly to them; it could be an entry point for an attack.

Children below the age of 15 are now banned from using social media in France; this is to avoid further exposure that leads to vulnerability to what the opened to, and this access has been restricted to children who unknowingly reveal some information or are exposed to certain things online.

France is way on point with this ban. Social media is not exactly a safe space for young kids, there is a lot of stuff they are not ready for and they don't always understand the consequences of what they post or click on. It exposes them to things that can mess with their mental health, self image and even safety. But a complete ban might not be the only answer because it could work for some kids, but others will find ways around it, like using VPNs, fake ages or just borrowing devices. Education and parental guidance matter just as much as restrictions, if not more. It is really good to see a country taking this seriously. It surely spark the conversation about how we protect children online without just leaving it all to parents to figure out alone. If other countries follow, it could lead to better policies and more awareness around digital safety for young people.

I doubt if this ban has anything to do with the increase in crypto crime rate, or physical public assaults that have been traced down to what people do on the internet. This seems more like a way of controlling or preventing kids from consuming too many uncensored contents on social media. The social media of today is currently flooded with too many unhealthy contents, and our present day algorithm doesn't in anyway identify those who are way below 18, and those who are not. Imo, this decision made by the French authorities is very good, but I'm yet to understand how they're going to do a follow up by enforcing it, and ensuring that these kids strictly adhere to it.
