It's clear how your childhood ( I mean everyone here) is definitely very different from that of the children of today no matter your country of origin or globality (correct me if I am wrong). Not in any way calling anything bad but as a child I guess you where usually asked to leave the room when adults are definitely going to be having adult talks of whatsoever intensity?
Nowadays, the level at which children middle into adults talk is something else.

what if we or you bring back telling kids to leave the room or space when adults are going to be having or are already having adult talks?

We have actually lost something when stopped having clear  boundaries between adults conversations and giving children space, not because they shouldn’t ask questions but because not every discussion is meant for their age and level of understanding.

I don’t think just by simply telling the children to leave the room is enough anymore because many of those conversations now happen online where there is no room to leave. A child with a phone can come across topics that are far more mature than anything they would have heard from adult sitting in the room.

I think the old rules still holds its value but it has to be combined with better parenting as well. While some conventions should remain between adults, parent should also be able to explain difficult topics to their children when they are matured enough instead of letting the social media do the teaching.

There's what we call "gentle parenting" these days and I feel it will be a lot harder to ask your child to leave a space when you're trying to have a conversation because to you it's nothing to worry about if they are there or not.
I remember growing up, we were taught to understand what a single look from mum meant and if ever we went against it, we'd be in soup when we got home. These days, some children rarely value or understand "the look", some even laugh it off when they see it or will ask "what?, why you looking at me?".  The thing with gentle parenting is that some values get dropped on the way just because the parent doesn't want to appear as the bad guy if they enforce some rules.

A friendship should be established between parent and child, but this doesn't mean children should be aware of all the problems adults face. Of course, today's children have a wider information network than those of our time, but this doesn't replace experiences learned through lived experience. If a child is taught things they need to experience first by being included in a conversation between two adults, it will prevent them from internalizing that information. In this case, what might seem like early maturation can lead to different problems due to a lack of experience. The way we learn today, which only activates certain senses, is already problematic enough. Children should explore the world in a way that suits their emotional development and by experiencing it with all their senses.

It's not just about an issue of leaving the room just because you're having an adult discussion, it's about knowing that there are certain conversations you can't be a part of untill you've attained a certain age or have gotten a certain level of exposure.

Exiting the room because you're a kid can happen in different form and can be seen in different ways but it only happens because you're not worth being a part of the discussion being held at the time. There's no hard feelings about it because when you're capable of being a part of the circle, you will eventually be allowed to be a part of the circle.

Rather I would say that they need to be taught when it's appropriate to be in a conversation and when adults need some privacy.  It is a key social skill to develop an understanding of this boundary from an early point. Indeed not everything that happens in an adult conversation is suitable for kids. If you don't involve them in any discussions they also miss the chance to socially learn. For this reason, it is better to make decisions according to the situation, it is normal that they keep their personal or sensitive discussions with themselves but they can also learn to talk politely in general family discussions.

If i could understand what you are really pointing out here, I will start by using this illustration, for a father to give an instruction to his kids to leave the room for two adults  conversation,is well understood and is not a bad idea because i see such as a part of home training, for it is written in the Bible that a father should training up his children in the way he should grow and when he is old, he will depart from it, so  i quoted the Bible because it completely Sense on what I'm contributing on this topic, so it normal for a kids to be  excuse when a conversation of two adults is going on, in order to avoid ending up courpting their kids with adults talks.

Exactly, that's a social skill that serves them for life and its even written in the Holy Bible, that parents should train up the child in the way he should go and when he is old, he won't depart from it. Whatever thing that parents think its right to do, they should do it as it can either be of a blessing or a curse to them later in the future. So, letting or teaching the children to know when to talk and walk away and when not to because knowing their boundaries won't only be of help to you as their parents but also to themselves.

Kids are kids, and adults are adults. The boundaries, knowledge, experience, wisdom and everything is different, and it should be replicated likewise. In a growing world where modernities are the other of the day, I still feel that everything has time. Your children could be where you are discussing with your fellow adult, but of course, it depends on the kind of conversation or discussion, yea.

They could stay in mare talks, social discussions, games, christian talks, etc that sure will have no negative thoughts and insight or may be too mature for them to hear. But in the opposite, they should be sent out, yea. There are things they don't get to hear at there age, and when such talks are brought to the table, and they are there, they should be sent out to play with there mates or probably with there playing tools.

However, a child could learn too while adults are discussing, but this is hinged on the subject of discussion. A child could also learn bad from some adult discussion too if given the privilege to partake either intentionally or not. Thus, sending the child out when discussing or allowing them to me simply depends on the topic of discussion

To me telling kids to leave the room or space is base on the topic or conversation and everyone really have to agree with this, yes you can't be having an adult conversation and you expect your kids to be there with you, hell no you will have to excuse them from the room, it some how help them in terms of morals and manner, while there are some topics that require them being there to learn also, and such discipline has helped most children in so many different areas, there are kids whom their parents doesn't care what they hear or do, and most at times when the kid misbehave outside, it's the parents that gets all the blame, so it's really necessary to let your kids know when their presence is needed and when it's not.

I don't think the habit of telling kids to leave the room has ceased to exist in some parents mouths. There are parents we have these days who still nurture such words or fears in their kids, for them to know when they should leave the room when grown-ups are having conversations.

Let me say, the way I am being trained by my parents, that's the same hand I am going to train my kids with, not the other way round. They should show courtesy at all times, know when to speak and when not to speak.

We have put a lot of wrong things in the minds of such children and they keep themselves at home considering them as such, due to which their thinking keeps changing.  We should train children in such a way that if they go out, they will understand everything and they will feel better and better to talk to everyone.  Because there are many people in the world who can meet with different questions and come in front of us.  Children who stay at home and learn the same way and take a lot of time to be okay with social media and their feelings, so they should direct their thinking towards the world so that they have those feelings but their thinking is like theirs.  This is done by the same people who think that if we ask an adult about his words, we will seem very intelligent, but in reality there is no one more stupid and dirty than them.

I think children still need boundaries, even if the way they are being raised today has changed. Not every conversation that adults have is suitable for them to hear, most especially when it concerns or involves private family issues, sensitive topics, and relationships. Still, parents need to explain to their children why they should leave the room instead of making them feel like they are deliberately hiding everything from them. You see, as children grow, they can gradually learn about more serious issues in a way that goes in line with their age and level of understanding. So I will say that the best way to approach this kind of situation is to balance it by protecting the children
from conversations that they're not ready for and, at the same time, preparing them for the realities of life as they grow.

Reestablishing the clear boundaries while having adult conversation is important part of healthy child development,  today’s modern parenting said that there should be open dialogue between parents and children but children still need space or separation from the most of the mature topics or emotional conflicts and financial or relational stress they are not mature enough to understand those things, it is completely okay to tell the kids to leave the room to give adults the space so that they can communicate everything freely without fearing of the kids without filtering every word and children should also in this way learn social boundaries and then  they should also learn the respect for the private conversation.

Of course that was how it is before, actually things have not even really changed that we cannot excuse a minor if we want to have a discussion they shouldn't hear, sometimes children who are well brought up even if they're not ask to leave the room they would on there own leave because they're aware that the discussion is beyond them. Parents are also the reason why most children get involved in an adult discussion because I have seen most parents who believes that having those discussion in there presence will groom them of what they would experience in the future so actually even when this reason could be understandable but it shouldn't be done when a child is too small, otherwise they would be grooming them into bad starting.

Right but regardless of any conversation, its advisable for the parents to let the children know their boundaries, expect you seek for their opinions. This will help the kids to know learn respect and know their space in everywhere they find themselves and most especially, they should be taught to involve themselves in a conversation that add value to their lives and help them to grow positively both mentally and academically.

It is vey good to teach your kids about this manners, because many families suffer due to this. They usually taught every manner to thier kids but talking about this they feel reluctant. While in my point if we culcate this habbit from their childhood it would give good results. Leaving the parents room basically giving a space to them. That is very essential for their mental peace, it is alos very important for the partner to spend few hours together so that it helps in reduces the communication gap that is very big problem which is needed to be  address. Many partners relationships affected due to that they were failed to enjoy quality time together or due to the lack of privacy. That ultimately creates misunderstanding, or sometime create too much distance emotionally.

Dont be a strict parent because your children wont want to confide in you when they are depressed. The idea of setting boundaries with your kids is not advisable. Teach them to know when conversations are meant for adults, but dont chase them away. If you haven't observed, most parents dont tell their kids to leave the room directly. They often use an indirect way to send them out. For example, sending them on an errand, telling them to go watch their favorite show, or to visit the nearest grocery store to get their favorite snack. It must not often be in an authoritative way.

What kind of adult talks are you talking about and where do you encounter this? Beause i didn't know that this is a problem for someone. When i, as a parent talk with kids around, my language and talking points are always age appropriate.

When i need to talk about adult stuff, i don't get why i couldn't just tell my kids to go into other room. Or why would that be hard for someone?

It's clear how your childhood ( I mean everyone here) is definitely very different from that of the children of today no matter your country of origin or globality (correct me if I am wrong). Not in any way calling anything bad but as a child I guess you where usually asked to leave the room when adults are definitely going to be having adult talks of whatsoever intensity?
Nowadays, the level at which children middle into adults talk is something else.
what if we or you bring back telling kids to leave the room or space when adults are going to be having or are already having adult talks?

In our time there was natural boundary between discussions of adult and the world of children. I saw that when adults had serious conversation, we were sent to another room. We might have known some thing late. But we gradually learned to understand according our age.

Now the problem is that because of internet and social media, that boundary is no longer there. Now children are exposed to different content or discussions at very young age. Actually these are not suitable for their mental maturity.

However I talso hink that now it is not good to keep children away from everything. Because era has changed. We should not completely isolate them. But we could teach them digital literacy. They should understand what they should watch and what they should avoid. And if they have any problem then they should definitely create an environment where they can talk to adult.
