Now I have some curious questions too?

1. Was it ethical for them to actually post an update about such vital information on the particular day they were suspending deposits to the exchange?
2. Also for my case, my Bitcoin never actually got credited to BitMart account although it has already been confirmed on the Bitcoin blockchain. My balance is showing zero, so curious to know if this actually due to a suspension on deposit?
3. What do we think might have prompt this whole decision for a company that have stayed in the crypto space for more than a decade?
I never knew Bitmart was actually melting their service until this thread, and i don't find it strange because they do have a service below average. I have an account with them, used them a few months back, and they were one of the worst exchanges, which I will never advise anyone to use.

It was a drastic measure, and valid if deposits are suspended on the same day, it would be a challenge if it were withdrawals. I see the withdrawals are open until the exchange completely shuts down.

The exchange has to keep sending emails to their users, I don't think i would have noticed their shutdown if not for this topic.

Absolutely not. Bitmart should have notified users through advance email and alerts in the app so that people can easily prepare for it especially the deposit freeze should have been announced a day ago.

2. Also for my case, my Bitcoin never actually got credited to BitMart account although it has already been confirmed on the Bitcoin blockchain. My balance is showing zero, so curious to know if this actually due to a suspension on deposit?
Yes it looks like your deposit has not reached your account because of deposit suspension. You can try opening a support ticket although support will be very busy these days still you should not lose hope.

3. What do we think might have prompt this whole decision for a company that have stayed in the crypto space for more than a decade?
Maybe something big has happened that Bitmart is not telling us clearly. As far as I know there has been no mention of a hack or regulatory order which may cause them to do this actions.

This is an unfortunate scenario that has happened in the crypto space once again. I pray you guys get the needed attention and answers on the recovery of your coins.

All these will be questions for another day. What you and others who have their crypto assets on the BITMART exchange will be fighting for is a means of being in custody of your crypto coins. That will give you guys a heads-up of being relieved of the thought of losing all your coins on the BITMART exchange.

For those who choose to learn from this ugly experience of crypto exchanges will desist from ever leaving their coins on any crypto exchange. Those who want to learn the hard way, let them continue giving control to crypto exchanges over their crypto assets until they are struck by the shock of the exchange not giving them control of their coins again.

~snip
There should have being a prior notification before something like this should happen as that is the right procedure. Bitmart is one of the oldest exchange created same year with OKX and Binace (2017) so its quite a sudden news that would affect so many users as many would lose their assets before complete closure due to slow exchange responses or even not being informed.

It could be possible that the exchange could be experiencing some internal issues or probably ownership issues which would lead to this difficult decision to progressively shut down the exchange. But it would also be a good alternative that there is a merger, if that would be of a better resolution.

2. When did you deposit? if it's after or during the time they have announced suspension of deposits then I guess that you should contact the support and expect a refund.

Deposits was made exactly on the 26th and I have tried like a million times to open a ticket but no feedback yet even up till now from their support team so it's looking very unlikely that the issue will be resolved.

Did bitmart sent notification messages to their customers about the closure of their platform with regards to deposited, withdrawal and trading instructions? Or you didn't get any information
concerning this until the time of your deposit?

They first made an update about their impending closure days ago and if you follow them or had checked on X you would have seen the updates.

Nothing of such was made by the bitmart which just makes everything suspicious because I have seen other exchanges and how they go about with the handling of such delicate matters, notice are usually sent days or even week and something months ahead prior to the actual date of suspending deposit.

As it stands now will be locking the thread,
