It's generally as a result of inflation.

Building materials are getting expensive with time. so as the materials get expensive the overall cost of the a house as well will be expensive. So if one should look for a solution it should start right from getting a stable economy.
You know inflation affects literally almost all parts of living, from food, to clothes, water, housing etc. So I would say they the solution to most of our problems lies on a stable economy.

There's no easy solution to this. A country needs to prosper before affordable housing will be available.

Me and my neighbor are a good living proof of the sudden inflation in housing. I am just paying half the price of what he is paying now in his mortgage because I bought mine in the early years. 4 years, to be exact, is the gap because the previous owner of his house had just given it up, and he went through a foreclosure agreement with the government. But the offer is not the same as the first owner's capital. It was estimated again and it was double the price of my house.
I was actually not surprised, and not just because of inflation but also because of the place that is growing.

For me, it's hard to solve this problem. First of all, a lot of land (especially in the city) are being acquired by private companies or the government to build commercial spaces or othe infrastructures to develop the area, which limits the available lot for housing. This makes it more expensive to buy a land. And the more it is close and accessible to different commercial areas, the more it becomes expensive. Less supply, more demand is equal to higher value.

Although comparing the price of land in urban areas, land in rural area or province are much cheaper. Yet a lot of people still prefers living in the city because opportunities are there. More business, more job opportunities, and higher paying jobs. Now, if such a opportunities would open in the provinces, or just make public transportation convenient, people would be willing to go back and forth to the capital and the province to work. Then more people would definitely chose to live in province instead than the busy street of the city.

In many countries, house prices have risen far more than wages, making it increasingly difficult for ordinary people, particularly first-time buyers, to afford a home. As people continue to move to large cities in search of better opportunities, the demand for housing keeps growing. In addition, many investors buy properties not to live in, but to benefit from rising prices.

•What could be the possible solution?
The solution is the government, citizens of many countries across the globe are suffering this currently but the government can actually provide affordable houses if they want to, few weeks back a close friend of mine was seriously in search of house, the amount they called for him, for just 1bed room flat is not something I should mention here because in it is a big amount in my local currency, the guy was discouraged with that price, as it is,he is reconsidering the decision wether to continue staying where he is staying since the price is a bit affordable than the one he saw.

What I have come to observe in the real estate sector in my country is that, the government officials that are occupying big positions, are looting public funds, disguising in the name of real estate to make life difficult for the average and poor citizens that can not afford those houses and you can never see the government of my country talk about afordable housing because they are they ones investing in the sector.

Yes, housing is one of the biggest problems in my country. One approach being taken—especially in areas closer to the city center—is the construction of mini-apartments consisting of a single bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Property owners buy old buildings, tear them down, and build these new units. Many properties are being built this way, and depending on the location, they can be just as expensive as large apartments. In a way, this has been well-received, particularly by university students; while generally affordable for them, these units are not viable for families to live in.

Another "solution" is that many buildings are being constructed with a portion of their apartments designated for social housing, lower-cost units for low-income families that may be subsidized by the government.

There is really no solution to the inflation of prices because you can tell real estate owners to keep there prices down when everything around down is moving up, they too have to eat. So the only two solutions are that the government can provide policies to help in housing but I doubt that in my country and the other alternative is to double your income stream or remain home less, lol.

The big problem is the price control don’t seems to be functioning, so these days everybody can just seems to put a price on their property. The inflation is really in all aspect of our livelihood, what we eat, drink, wear, and even services. The things now is you can’t even blame the hosing companies because at the end what they used to structure the building is also expensive.

To get a solution to these inflation issues, the government needs to be heavily involved, with that even these private organizations can begin to step down their prices. To get an affordable house now is really a big problem financially, being it rented or personal one.

This is why the housing market is naturally attracting significant capital from investor.

You may never be able to completely solve this housing crisis. However, it is not impossible to control the situation to large extent through the right policy intervention. i mean proactive govt policies.

IMO, if govt provides home loan at low interest rate, especially for first-time home buyer then financial burden of buying house may be reduced to large extent. This will also make your monthly repayment much smoother and you will be able to own a house yourself easily.

However I will not say that just easy credit or low interest rate are enough. If the supply of affordable housing does not increase then that would be a problem. If this happen then additional demand can increase property price again. Hence accessible home loan are necessary. Along with this new housing construction must also be increased. Affordable housing project must be encouraged and excessive speculative property investment must be controlled.

I don't really know what you mean by the solution to it because there is no such thing as a solution to reduce the affordability of houses and landed properties. The worth of a land or house is dependent on some factors and the most important one is where it's located. Generally housing is expensive but we know that they are more expensive in certain places.

If you consider to own a property and you don't have that much money it is better you avoid certain locations for you to save cost. There are lots of reasons why housing is becoming insanely expensive and inflation is one of those reasons. The cost of building is very expensive and landed properties appreciate in value as time goes on.

Perhaps the solution you are asking about is how the price can be controlled or reduced, it is obviously something that has to do with the economy and the government has the power to make things better.

If the price of commodities is very high due to inflation, you can't expect the price of accommodation to be cheaper, because the items and equipments use in building houses are so expensive. The reason for every investment is to gain profit, and any investment that will not be beneficial or profitable to you, I think will be better not to invest in it at all. The reason why some people could not afford their own apartment is because it is very expensive. I think many countries are actually suffering from this issue. The owner of the house has his own problems to solve, so he has to do what is right, even if it has to cost the tenants.

You know inflation affects literally almost all parts of living, from food, to clothes, water, housing etc. So I would say they the solution to most of our problems lies on a stable economy.
This is true, materials for building houses have inflated and together with the wages. Compared to the time before, the labor was quite cheap but in the purchasing power of what they were receiving, it's not. So, the biggest contribution of why housing became expensive is the inflation and I agree.

I don't really know what you mean by the solution to it because there is no such thing as a solution to reduce the affordability of houses and landed properties.
I've seen people living in cars and RVs, maybe that's the solution they're looking for but it depends, it's not comfortable for many and it still feel different. It's a way of living by tackling this problem. For the others, as long as there's a roof above their heads, that would be enough but for the majority it's not. There's actually a way to reduce the cost of housing and that's through the government's help and support.

This constant increment in question is not only in housing but has affected everything all because of one single thing which is greed and selfishness in the heart of our leaders.
Before now when the government has the citizens at mind they usually operate in a platform with ambition of make life easy for all but now the kind of leaders we have are once willing to own heaven and earth while to citizens surfer without hope of getting over it. Assuming political positions can be given transparent and opened people all this wont have been easy.

A solution involves collective efforts and cooperative work towards common good. However, it's not possible in the current world where people aren't to be trusted and individuality plays a decisive role.

So, instead of trying to solve this issue, why not solving your own life, first of all? Work towards your goal, which I suppose to be to buy a house. Do your research on the alternatives of doing it in an affordable way.

There are still cheap allotments and long term low rates loans for people who can't afford a house at once.

You could be right because in my state there are several properties people have discovered it was one our political leader that owns them including some hospital that we were thinking it was own by a foreigner or company because of how equipped and foreign doctors that is working there so actually if they were hiding it means that there could be so many other houses that has been under hiding, so perhaps that's why I believe what you are saying about top government person owning some of the real estate people are renting because is very possible considering that there money is too big to be putting in a bank but with real estate it will be a perfect hideout of those money for them.

This is actually a huge problem faced by majority, most especially to those who are earning less, or to those who have no sustainable flow of income. When buying is not the best decision yet, and so people resort into renting which is also expensive these days.

The best solution, the government should lessen the tax of those companies that are selling construction materials so that they won't also be forced in increasing the market price of their items. This is a win-win solution. People will benefit from low priced but quality items, and the companies themselves won't also worry paying a high tax. Thus the government won't have to give financial assistance to those homeless and unfortunate citizens.

This is really concerning for everyone, most particularly for those people who are still renting up to these days because they have no sufficient funds to build or buy a house. And worst is, every year the price of houses also increase, add to that is the effect of inflation that I think is already endless.

If only the government can provide free housing projects every year, then it could be very beneficial especially to those who belong in low income bracket, or lets say if the government can offer affordable housing loans that target the low income earners, this problem might be lessen every year.

When public funds end up in private real estate investments, corruption can certainly play a role in making housing unaffordable. But we should not jump to the conclusion that all high-priced properties are necessarily related to corruption unless there is sufficient basis. Additionally, in many countries high construction costs, lack of land, speculation and poor housing policies keep prices out of reach of the masses. A lack of transparency and an increase in affordable housing projects by governments has created a widening rift between the rich and the poor. Especially as it relates to the ability of working families to afford home ownership.

Is the solution to prevent people from buying houses in cities or what? Regarding the continued rise in house prices, I think that's normal, as it's definitely a result of inflation. If house prices don't rise, it will be detrimental to one party, or the person selling the house won't make much profit.

In my opinion, if the solution to prevent people from buying houses in cities is for the government to treat both city and village residents fairly. In fact, villages are actually more comfortable and convenient if health facilities, markets, and so on are available in villages. So, the bottom line is that a good solution is to continue improving the economy, because even if house prices continue to rise, if our income is high, we will be able to afford them.

The real estate sector is booming; it’s no longer a new thing, it’s now something we need to accept. The only place I’m always against some of the landlords in the cities without proper housing regulations is how they can comfortably increase rent for their homes, which are still with old structures; nothing was renovated. For new buildings, we can understand that the cost of building has increased due to an increase in labor costs and building materials.

If there's ever going to be a solution, it should be that the government should step in and regulate how houses are being priced in terms of rent. In some countries, some civil servants can’t even afford to pay for a decent home rent with their 6 months' salary, which is half of a full year.
When a country is being ruled by wicked leaders who doesn't give a damn of its citizens or the well being of its citizens lawlessness becomes the order of the day in such country, making it easy for landlords in either urban and rural areas to walk up one morning and serve their tenants notice of increment in rent or traders to sell their goods with the price that suit them without the government regulating them. So, if you are living in a country where landlords suddenly increases house rent, you shouldn't blame the landlords; blame the government because it's their duty to step in and regulate how housing is being priced when things are getting out of hand in order to make housing affordable for the poor masses.

The price of almost everything if not everything is high so what do you expect for house? It will be even worst than the price of goods and some other things. Again demand and supply is also factors that affects the price of these things and I will also say that the reason the price of house is high is the availability and the supply, if house is scarce or not really available then the price of it will surely increase so I think supply we be a solution to this in my opinion.
