Yes, the pool has a buffer but when there's a few blocks in a small period I have to wait for an earlier one to confirm to keep existing withdrawals available without having large sums in the hot wallet.

what is up with the pool?  only 19TH?  are we being attacked?

http://mmpool.org/statistics

I was mining with westhash and I was getting no credit.

Seems like I lost 0.02 btc worth of hash  I had 50th pointed

you did not register it yet westhash was spending the hash.

This happened I while back.  I figure I lost   close to .05 or .06 btc

There was about 10 minutes of downtime due a few minutes ago due to an issue with the groupcoin daemon. This has been resolved and the pool is back online.

There was sporadic downtime of a few seconds over the last 30 minutes as some upgrades were done to some of the auxcoin daemons. Operation should now be back to normal.

i have been too cosy where i was mining to consider relocating but now have no choice with BTCguild shutting in 2 weeks.

So i'd like to clarify if it is 'ok' to use cryptsy wallets here as i see it says NOT to mine directly on each cryptsy wallet...

i apologise if its been covered but ive been negligent in keeping up with other pools' developments/criteria.

if i may offer some advice ....

never mine coins to any address that you do not have control of the private keys for

dont mine coins (any coin) to an exchange wallet ever

always install the qt clients (use virtual box if you are afraid to install on your computer or own only one)

always hold your own coins

never store them on exchanges other than small sums

there are way to many things that can go wrong or possible bad outcomes and it will be pure luck if the outcome is good

honestly

mm pools set up page says this:

Note that you should prefer to use addresses that you control the private keys for. If you use an address for an exchange or wallet service and that service changes their addresses you won't be able to withdraw your coins. You will have to liase with the wallet service to recover them. The owner of the private keys for the addresses you use here effectively own the coins - that should be you!

If you don't listen to me please listen to him.

bless you.

i did read all that on the mmpool site which is what caused me to check/ask.

BUTttttt.. i cant justify downloading (even) more clients, for the sake of various dust.

is it 'impossible' to mine direct to an exchange (and remove accumulated dust as & when) or merely ill-advised due to potential for loss/shenanigans?

It is ill-advised. Whether it's impossible depends on the exchange or service. If they have a deposit address that never changes then you can mine to that using mmpool. If they change the address though then there's a risk of lost funds.

Many thanks!

I already have BTC, NMC, UNO, IXC wallets.

Perhaps i'll just mine those and leave the others.

Thx again!

Check your username that you're giving to the miners. It should be the same case (capitals/lowercase) as the username you're using when registered. This is the most common reason for 0 stats.

I'm new to this pool, but it seems like this round is taking a VERY long time. Currently at 625:52:38 Am I wrong? I know it's not uncommon for pools to get "stuck" on really long rounds sometimes - is that's what's happening here?
