Why are billionaires buy up lands?

The poor are supposed to be happy that new opportunities are coming out for them to get jobs and feed their families. Why should they be unhappy with those who can afford to buy land that could be used for farming? Is this not better than those who buy lands for nothing?

Let's call a spade a spade. Since you are not so happy that the wealthy are taking over everything with money, let's be honest. They have been able to create opportunities for many through what they do. Anyone who is not happy about it should start making their own money to purchase land.

My own opinion about the rich buying lands is not just for farming because everyone has there person area of passion and interest that spays them the most. So what what you chose to do with your land is what you will do with since you have document covering it purchase, except the government have other things to do or plans on what to build or do on the lan.
No body should feel cheated if anyone buys a landed property, because one day When you have money you can buy your own and do with it what you like.

Even if they can't buy a land in the future_{(no disrespect, at least not all of them)}, it's still not enough reason to be bothered about what someone else is doing with his/her money. If we're to use the typical definition of being poor, then it's easier to understand that these very people don't even think about any other thing other than survival. Buying a land/property is literally the very last thing that a poor person would think of because survival is always a top priority.

At the end of the day, there will always be a massive gap between the different classes of people in our society.
The richer will always have enough, and more to invest, while the poor have to make survival a priority.

You are right because by building farm in those land they acquired is a project that would create a lot of employment for those who doesn't have a job and since farming is a continues process thousands of people will get a permanent jobs so actually even if people are feeling cheated for the magnitude of the land those wealthy people owns but when they look at the economical importance of what they're using those land to do they will no that is even best as they have acquired those lands. Actually it was even through this acquisition of properties by companies in my country most communities began to see development.

The problem is not about the ownership. It's when it is being used to monopolise food production if the land it used die farming or houses prices if it is used for building estates. The impact is more important as just owning. There's nothing wrong if they want to buy it all. But I will be more cautious of them owning it all. But since it is used for something productive that will help people and the economy, I see nothing wrong in that. But if it raises concerns, then the amount of land one can own should be stated. Like ownership limit, rules for land use and so on. That shouldn't be a problem for the government to decide.

What I know is that there's a lot of profits to be made in this agricultural business and billionaires are always moving fast in so many ways that they can get their hands on these profits. The control of what people should eat and how many rations of food can be shared back to society is all I'm worried about. Bill Gates is a man I don't like because of his plans to depopulate Africa, whenever I see his name on a big business enterprise, I always get worried to an extent.

The reason why people oppose billionaires buying massive lands is because of monopoly. When only a few people control land, they will also determine what happens in the agricultural and real estate sector. Yes, they will create jobs, but small farmers or businesses would collapse because of the influence of these big firms owned by billionaires. The government would have to make losses to protect small businesses from the monopolistic powers of these big organisations.

But why the land more expensive is because some rich people will just buy land in difference places and abounding the land, so that kind of land poor people can not afford to buy it. And if they use the land for farming, it will create jobs among the people and increase employment. It is a very good thing than doing nothing and making the land stay idle without using it for farming.

So your comparison is really between Billionaires and poor people? There's a huge difference even between a person who owns $10 million and person that owns $1 billion. That difference is basically $1 billion.

People just don't seem to get how huge numbers these are. And for my parents it was easy to buy their own house from near a city, just by having a low entry level day job. These days, no matter how many of those jobs young people do, there's hardly enough money for a rent. While billionaires can live with interest and dividends and this difference is just growing. So yes, poor people are lacking behind and that's by design.

Yes, they should be bothered about surviving properly first and making enough money for a decent living and not about lands that are being purchased by others of which they cannot afford, that's worrying about what they have no business with. Truth is that there would always be lands to be bought as long as people have money and are willing to, this is not only for availability of more lands, but even those that buys today would be interested in selling for profit tomorrow, the main thing to worry about is having the money to buy when opportunity comes for that.

If the poor can't afford to buy lands where the rich are buying them they should hope for an opportunity where there will be more job opportunities if the lands are being developed to build companies or industries which will favor them to get employment. Whether the lands are used for real estate or agriculture the government according to law are the original owners of all the lands they have the authority to issue certificate of occupancy to land owners and if they are working to ensure that the rich do not acquire lands just to bank it then they can decide not to give them the go ahead to develop such lands.

Lack of capital is a very serious challenge affecting or limiting the poor masses from investing in lands same way the rich are actively doing, it is the prayer and wish of all be it rich or poor to get involved actively in buying of lands but because many lacks capital for such purpose,  they stay without getting any.

A small group of major companies have gained large influence over parts of global food systems, including what seeds are sold and how they’re used. Some reporting also links this trend to tighter control through seed patents and related intellectual property rules.They want to replace natural food with genetically modified or synthetically tainted food using patented components while at the same time store vast amounts of natural seeds in seed banks in case of nuclear war and other biblical events while at the same time sue farmers who have gm crops growing on their farms where the gm seeds have been blown onto their lands from billionaire lands. They also want the taxpayer to pay them to leave their land idle for wildlife/habitat preservation by taking control of democracies in order to have corrupt politicians make laws that monopolize their power. At the same time they want to interfere with the climate and every other natural thing God has made and even weaponize the climate against other nations and poor farmers. Once they have total control over money and food supply and medicine then they can make anyone do what they want.

It is not just about farming. Land is a safe bet. It does not disappear, it does not crash like the stocks and as time goes on, it almost always goes up in value. For billionaires it is about protecting their already acquired wealth more than anything else. But where it eventually become a problem is when a handful of people control that much land it definitely pushes the prices up and makes it harder for regular people to buy property. It is not illegal, but it does not sit or feel right either. Land can surely give them power over things like housing, agriculture activity like food production,  even over communities as well because they are not just blindly buying some ground with dirt, they are in some way buying influence. And when the rich control the land, the rest of us end up paying more for everything. If you look at it from an angle of a family saving for years to buy a small home and a billionaire buys thousands of acres like it is nothing, then that is not just business but a good reminder of how wide the gap between the wealthy and the common struggling to earn a living really is.

I agree that land is good investment and it give good profit in longer term it can be used for housing or farming to generate revenue. I do not think that it is completely safe to buy land, as its value changes with changing economy the owners have to face a decline in price of the land, have to pay taxes, and they have to pay for the maintenance costs, and there are other risks that are also involved with it as well.
Main issue is about concentration of ownership, if there are small number of people who are buying large number of land than ability of the houses for other people become very difficult they have to pay very high prices to buy them.
The main issue is whether the government is making sure that the ordinary people still have the access to buy the land or not, and whether the market is and government policy are preserving the excessive concentration.
