Choosing for the next FIFA president? I think Aleksander Ceferin would be the best candidate to be elected to the next presidential election...as we know, Aleksander has an experience in managing a major political and commercial issues with European football league, which is directly related to FIFA. He is also has the credibility with many national conferences associations and extensive experience when it comes to leading a major football confederation. take note that he has a legal background as a lawyer back then, which is one of his edges among the other candidates. being a lawyer is valueable when dealing with governance regulations and international negotiations... So, having these strong qualifications and experiences indicates that he is aligns with the objectives and demands of being the next fifa president.

Aleksander Ceferin (UEFA President): 2.20 (Favorite) Nasser Al-Khelaifi (PSG President / ECA Chairman): 3.00 Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa (AFC President): 5.00 Victor Montagliani (CONCACAF President): 5.00 Arsène Wenger (FIFA Global Football Development Head): 9.00 Patrice Motsepe (CAF President): 13.00 Lise Klaveness (Norwegian FA President): 19.00 Outliers (Carles Puyol, Fabio Cannavaro, Pep Guardiola, Gareth Southgate): 34.00 Sepp Blatter (Former FIFA President): 51.00 Some of those potential candidates are just laughable. Sepp Blatter to become a FIFA president again? Gareth Southgate and Arsene Wenger? Who thought that Gareth Southgate is a potential candidate for president of FIFA? FIFA is a corrupt organization and the guy, who bribes a bigger number of football federations would become the next FIFA president. I don't think that Ceferin is that corrupt and ruthless. He is pretty much fine as a UEFA president and he won't run for president of FIFA. I have the feeling that Infantino would keep his position or some Arabian football president would spend lots of money and get elected.

The problem is not even in choosing a specific criteria that will determine who to be the next President, of course all the suggested names have a profile and what they can look into to determine if the truly deserve the best qualification, but what is being a major concern is about the external influence that may be received upon any candidates selected to be the president, just as the recent issue many are complaining about over the just concluded 2026 FIFA world Cup, claiming that FIFA and not being just with their decisions to show through transparency.

I think Infantino have been a good FIFA President, I don’t really know what is all about the news of selling shares in FIFA to a private company, I think he means good for FIFA he should have tried to seek out opinions of other federations before deciding to sell that shares, I think this was the wrong decision he has taken, prior before that decision his been doing absolutely well with FIFA his made some tremendous Changes with FIFA.
He did seek for their opinion. What happened about the private companies was as a result of interests. After the just concluded Fifa, the private companies saw the money US, the inflow of money to US was big and they think it will benefit both Fifa and the companies if they make partnership, they presented their interest but the media interpreted it and say Fifa want to sell to Private companies, they are painting Infantino bad in the face of people after what happened in the world cup. There was an emergency meeting between FIFA officials yesterday, so far we don’t know the outcome of the meeting, right now I don’t know if he is going to complete his tenure, I believe he is seeking for reelection and others are also calling for him to resign, I don’t know who is going to be the next FIFA president, because there is still a President there and he might continue, Let’s hope everything is resolved soon.
The election is on the edge, the sponsors are the people behind this what is going on in the internet but I like Infantino with one thing, he is confidence in what he is doing. He knows he has done an incredible job in the last few years back and he is going to win again. The people that are sponsoring this agenda will know that he is also prepared except if there are things that he has been doing that is bad to Fifa that the public don't know about.

It's truly strange that Blatter ended up there. Even if you put aside his image as a corrupt official (it would be strange to replace one corrupt official with a more experienced and time-tested one, haha), he's still already 90 years old. Clearly not the right age to be actively working. For me, there are only three realistic candidates - Infantino himself. It would be naive to hope that the fraudster will be punished. It is very likely that he will retain his post. The second most likely is Al Khelaifi, if I'm not mistaken he is a former UEFA official and if he heads FIFA it will mean that UEFA has won. The third option, the least likely, is Čeferin. I don't see any point for him leaving the most important federation, even despite it is formally promotion.

There are few people who would turn down a higher position, and I don't think he's one of them. If he or UEFA find someone to install as his successor, I have no doubt that he will not accept the new position. FIFA has a lot of money and influence in the world of football, and whoever becomes its new president will not only inherit that, but will also be celebrated as the savior of world football.

"Show must go on" Infantino said he is sorry for mistakes he has made but he keeps position of FIFA president. He has been president of FIFA for 10 years, I dont think he will leave this position easily. Due to corruption, I think has made enough rich and powerful friends that will help him stay for as long as he wants. Precedencies were on president position for +15 years and I think we should count that Infantino will also be in charge for that long. I feel like you have had one of the most holistic submissions on this matter. Let’s not forget that this is politics and deals with world power. In as much as the world power are enjoying his tenure as the president of FIFA and he is in the good books of the likes of president Trump among others, it will simply become very difficult for him to be hedged out of that position. Infantino is definitely stronger than what many of us imagine. He has made strong poltical alliances and would want to use such networks to remain in power, maybe seek for forgiveness for some obvious mistakes that has been made to the public but it will be very difficult for him to relinquish that position just like that. The pressure and the interest have to come from a vast range of political parties and sources who are bigger than the alliances he currently enjoys. That’s not something that can easily happen. The FIFA president position is a corporate political position where he’s respected among all but still have his strong political activities and affiliations ongoing.

I can't name the next FIFA President.🙋
However, I understand who would be the most suitable candidate. At one time, Mikhail Gorbachev, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, sought to divide the USSR not into 15, but into many more parts (including autonomous republics). This is optimal from the standpoint of power for a person prone to intrigue.
However, this is precisely how modern FIFA is structured! There are 211 national member associations. One member association equals one vote. To become FIFA President, you need to be an intriguer and able to pacify smaller member associations with sweet words and cash handouts.
The new FIFA President will not rely on European member associations and European sponsors. American and Arab sponsors are more important to him, as well as smaller European member associations (which are much easier to deal with than the larger ones).
Therefore, European support for any new FIFA presidential candidate is, in my opinion, a bad sign. Such a person will not be able to become FIFA President. 🧑💻

I really don't care about who becomes the FIFA president. The reason why I don't care is because anyone who is made the president and he is involved in any criminal or wrongful act can be removed, so I will not bother myself about their character or achievements because I'm very sure that anyone who enters as the FIFA president we follow the rules and regulations that are set in place. And again, one thing everyone should understand is that change is constant, people can be good today and tomorrow they can be bad. When it comes to leadership, past character or action does not really determine who is going to be a good leader.

So we have countries who for and against Infantino to be the next president. Interestingly, most of nations who vote for came from Asia, Africa and South America while most of EU nations are against it. Although Infatino has only less than one year left to keep his position as a FIFA president, but this is gonna be a very long wayyy story. I'm wondering do you guys have your country in the list to vote for or against Infantino? It seems the right time to grab some popcorn. 🍿

Infantino is at greater risk than ever with his position and power. But I do not believe he will lose his position now. Moreover, it is not yet certain when the legal action that the opposition will take will be taken. The positions of the other confederations and the emergency congress initiative in the coming months will determine who will replace him, or whether he will remain in the same position until 2027.
Although UEFA, Norway and several other organizations have taken a strong stance against Infantino, he still retains the support of many CAF members, some Latin American countries and other national organizations. The most important thing is that no strong alternative candidate has emerged to compete with him or his counterpart for the 2027 election, so I think he will remain as FIFA president until the next election, but his power may be somewhat reduced.

True, it sounds he will be re-elected again because most of nations who against him are from UEFA continent. However, let's see where this drama will be finish. I believe nations will be divided by two sides. At the peak of this drama, if Infantino will be re-elected. It looks like UEFA won't be allowing their nations to take part in FIFA competitions forever. If it's happening, i'm wondering how FIFA will try to get funding because UEFA nations can be considered as most contributed nations in term of financial to them.

I hope that as many UEFA members as possible will express their dissatisfaction and, as a last resort, boycott all competitions under the leadership of FIFA.

It looks like Gianni Infantino's grip on FIFA is finally starting to slip, I wanted to start a thread to see what everyone thinks about who might be stepping up to take over the role next.
After everything that has gone down recently regarding FIFA's plan to sell off a 20% commercial stake in future World Cups to private equity investors for $20 billion, Infantino is facing unprecedented backlash. Offering $20 million bribes to individual federations backfired and major confederations including UEFA, CONCACAF and the Asian Football Confederation have all officially rejected the proposal. Figures like La Liga president Javier Tebas have openly called for his resignation, German FA president Bernd Neuendorf refused to endorse his re election and the Football Association of Wales became the first association to officially announce they will not support him.
The next FIFA presidential election is set for March 18, 2027, at the 77th FIFA Congress in Rabat, Morocco, with a candidate declaration deadline of November 18, 2026. However there is growing speculation that he might not even make it that far. If 19 of the 37 members of the FIFA Council call an emergency meeting or if 43 member associations formally request an extraordinary congress, he could face a vote of no confidence and be forced out well before the 2027 vote. Do you think Infantino will be forced out early or will he manage to cling to power until 2027? Who would you actually like to see lead FIFA out of this mess?
Sadly it seems that the more expanded world cup makes it very easy for a dictator to get and stay in power. Out of the 200~ or so nations, it is very easy to a big portion which accept bribery and corruption as a way of life. They outnumber the nations that have been able to stamp it out in large part, even though they are offering nowhere near the calibre of football that people who watch the world cup are actually interested in. Frankly UEFA and the other groups of nations who condemned this plan should abandon FIFA's world cup and start their own. FIFA sees UEFA as their primary competitor and wants to neuter them in different ways, that is very predatory behavior - bearing in mind that this is not for the good of fans, but rather the self enrichment and power trip of a few elites. Just look at how involved Kushner aka Trump were involved in this plan to take over FIFA, it's disgusting.
