Rich are rich, because they get to be rich whenever they try to get rich. You think I can't be rich in a few years if I had the capital for it? Won't you be? Anyone on this forum, and I mean anyone, could become rich if you give them enough time. Pay for my expenses every month, not like go get me mansions and Ferraris or anything like that, just pay for my living expenses, and see where I am in 2-3 years. I am sure that 90%+ of the forum would be richer than today, and would have something great.
We are not rich because we work, and we work hard, and we have very little time left, and in that time, we have barely any capital. If I had capital to live, and capital to start a business, without worrying about starving, I already have many ways I could grow and be rich. Not "maybe"; I would be. That's not a question. The rich are rich because they do not have that problem; they can invest in any idea they have, and for a few years it may not make money, but they can keep investing in it and wait it out until it makes a profit. Amazon did not profit for nearly 2 decades; look at it now.
Tesla was such a horrible company that it almost went bankrupt until Elon started putting billions into it; they all sucked, were terrible, and only became successful because the rich kept on putting money into it to keep going.
Yeah I agree, having capital is the reason why most people are rich, and we would mostly be rich if we had the capital as well. I mean, we could start a business with some capital, try, and if we succeed, then we are rich; if we fail, then we would try another business again with new capital. That is what rich people do: they try until they do it right. And we hear about the good ones as well; we hear the jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and many more.
But people forget these are the ones that stuck, but the reality is that they are children of millionaire parents, and there are many millionaire parents out there in the world who end up trying businesses and they fail. We hear about the ones that succeeded, but there are many out there who wasted millions and got nowhere. So that means, while you are right that having capital matters, and without capital we can't, it also matters to realise that just because you get some capital, it doesn't mean that you are going to be in profit and succeed and build a great business.
