Why aren't we betting on women's AFCON?

Sportsbooks are basically the problem here. Most folks are ready to bet on women's football, but the odds are not enticing. 

I literally wanted to bet on the Nigeria vs Egypt AFCON match on multiple goals. After seeing the odds for the game, I lost interest. I instantly picked the Arsenal vs Real Betis pre-season game to bet on.

Can't remember the last time I bet on women's league, the same goes to youth leagues. I don't like betting on woman's league both thier youth wether male or female so Long as it is under 21 I don't usually pick interest to bet on them. However, women's league tend to move slowly than the main leagues so this made me feel that they are not serous that is why I stopped, but as for the main leagues I mean men leagues like premier league or any other leagues they tend to put in more effort while playing, I like betting on leagues that is very competitive because this is part of the things that make gambling to look fun.

Lol.. Why I laughed is because I thought I'm the only person that usually experienced this kinda stuff. Inconsistency is always their problem, they can barely give back positive energy especially when you're literally expecting them to do better.  Moreover, the only time I usually watch them is maybe when my wife what to do so because that's her favorite sport. But aside that ( consistency ), they're pretty amazing and very entertaining since their performance is likely to be more dramatic. Maybe I should give in some attention, who knows if I may be lucky this time around by hitting something cool.

I'm not too surprised to see that woman football entertainment looks so difficult to predict, although in my own case, when it comes to women football, i do always go with the option of predicting over two goals and definitely not mostly all the time i do predict women matches, i agree with that the woman AFCON  is not that popular compared to men AFCON, i just heard  about it on the news this morning that such tournament going on recently and here is the second place I'm noticing that the tournament is truly going on and i believe that the best option to really bet on this woman AFCON is over 1.5 goals or under 4.5.

Bookies offer them but people rarely watch these women. I bet you wouldn't want to bet on a team you haven't watched their game before. It's too risky because you'll have to completely rely on online stats to make your bet. There was a time I bet on them randomly only to get disappointed at the end. I noticed the discussion about the ongoing women's AFCON has increased in our Africa sport discussion thread but I guess it's because the men's league is yet to resume. Assuming the Premier League and other top leagues are ongoing at the same time with this women AFCON, nobody will pay attention to it.

I think this is a thing of interest and choice, there are people who love betting women game and there are also people who love betting men game only and this can make someone that plays men say that predicting women game is difficult likewise people that bet on women alone. The tournament was supposed to be played in 2024 but was postponed to 2025 and it had Nigeria defeating Morocco to emerge as the winner.Currently, the Nigerian team has won up to 10 times.

It is really concerning that people do not really rate female football,  there is no much hype on the game.

I have never had any interest watching women football in general or placing bet on it. Even if I do, i wouldn’t know how to celebrate if the team or country supporting scores lol… And what I also noticed is that women hardly watch women football, especially WAFCON. I think men still have a higher percentage of viewers. What happened to women supporting women ? Haha

Of course placing bets on women's leagues or tournaments can be very boring because they score many goals in their matches, same with youth leagues just as you said. Look at how the match between Egypt versus Nigeria ended with a score of 2:6 as if it was a basketball match. There was a women's match i watched one day and the match ended 1:11. There is no competition in the women's tournament and those teams that performs better than the others are always dominant. Those women's league doesn't generate enough revenue like the men senior team matches and again I don't think that they have many professionals who officiate their matches like the Men's football leagues.

Because you don't have the ideas about the female football doesn't mean others doesn't have,  I know may friends that follow up only on female football,  I do better on female football, betting sites recognizes women football, there is no bet sites that doesn't put the women football on their page.

The Nigerian female team has been dominating women Afcon, yesterday they defeated Egypt by a high margin goals 6:2 to qualify to the next round. I watched the game ans the Nigerian female are so good and I don't see any tram stopping them.

Familiarity has made some of our bettors to avoid woman football, allot of users do focus more on men league so they are familiar with the players already and the team and how the playing style works. Because when it comes to betting, competition decision can be easily made if matches are being follow closely.
I won’t say that women games are impossible to predict precisely, due to every league do have their pattern and if wacht closing you understand how this teams analysis works and prediction will be easy just as men football predictions works well. As bettors We shouldn’t expect same performance from different teams we should try understand each team to avoid disappointment.

Well both discussions are based on slightly different premise else I think the moderator would have probably merged them already. That aside visibility is the biggest problem. I don't like women football. For me, it's just too slow and not captivating. There is nothing that attracts me. No much skills to watch. It's just like that. Passing and shooting, sometimes, crowded and that's just it.

We can't compare it to anything near men football. The women football lack strength, of course, they don't have enough strength to do some certain things we watch in men's football. For this reasons, I just stay away from it. How do I bet on something I can't predict. I don't even have any idea on there performance, even individually too. I don't even get to know anything about them in there club side. It's totally off for me.

The games are there on every major bookmaker, so there is nothing stopping you from betting on AFCON if you want. However most people stick with what they know and only really have an interest in betting on games that they're actively watching - unfortunately women's football in the African league is just not as popular as you might wish it to be. People are probably enjoying a little hiatus between the World Cup and Premier League (or other tournaments) because non-stop betting can be quite punishing on the wallet. Women's football has actually been getting a lot more popular year after year, which will only increase and we might one day see it get closer to the mens game in terms of viewership, but it seems a long way off right now with salaries nowhere near similar as well.

Your choice, I know women's football can be slow, with less action, but frankly speaking, I'm not belittling the technicalities they put in each game. I've watched few minutes of the last match with some highlights for the parts i missed, I am more interested in women's football than I have ever been, lots of things are about to change, the women need to keep the momentum.

I took some time to watch the women's AFCON. And I was like, is this really what I'll use my precious time to watch? Imagine after watching the World Cup, where you see actions from top players, skills, defensive gurus, and men running like stallions, only to tune into Women's who can't run and play good football. I honestly can't watch them play. As for the youth, their matches are not as slow as the women's game. Some under-21 have talent. You won't regret watching the Youth league at times.

But however, after coming across this post and checking the list o matches to be played today, I just noticed that we have two games to be played in few minutes from now. Which is between Mali women vs Ghana Women at 8pm forum time and likewise Cape Verde vs Cameron women. And looking by their previous performance statistics, it's obvious Mali will win Ghana tonight and likewise Cameron women will also win Cape Verde, because despite their men did play excellently well in the just concluded FIFA World Cup, their women are really playing poorly at this AFCON.

I have never placed a bet on women sports, and I know that majority of gamblers even women gamblers don't gamble on female sports. I don't know the reason behind that, I can't even explain why I don't focus on women's sport. There are still people betting on those women competitions, but the reason why many people are not focusing on women's competitions is because they are not as popular as men's competitions. Because of that, they do not get as much attention as the men's competitions.Even in men's football, competitions that are not popular hardly attract bettors. Just like me, the only leagues and competitions I usually gamble on are the Premier League, La Liga, and the Italian League. Sometimes I bet on the Bundesliga, but it is not a competition that I always watch. So, even when I want to gamble, my attention hardly goes there to pick a team to bet on.People usually bet on competitions that get a lot of public attention or competitions they personally follow. If you hadn't mentioned it now, I wouldn't even know that women's competitions were currently going on.
