Al was never created to steal peoples job, rather it was created to improve skills and reduce stress for people who can make proper use of it. With the help of Al programmers can a lot of things faster compare to when they do them manually, apart from programmers content creators, business owners and many others can also achieve their goals quickly with the help of Al. I don't really see Al as a treat to humans, rather I see it as helpful tool to humans.

You have a point, Ai wasn't created to take people's jobs away but it's meant for people to take advantage of it so that their work can be much easier for them. In the aspect of programming I will use this to make an example of a misconception people mostly have about the use of Ai to do this, some people think just because they can write codes using Ai then it means they no longer need programmers, that's an uni intelligent thought because it's one thing to write codes and it's Another thing to know what to do with them.

In your core strength or Field Ai can make your work more easier and faster, this is the reason why it is important for people not to feel threatened by It, you should embrace it instead and try to learn more about it to make you more professional In what you do.

To me I don't really have that much fear on this speculations of AI taking over human job, no doubt the advancement on this AI of a thing is really alarming but I still stand my ground that there's no way AI will take over human job totally there are some certain things that will still require humans services, at least it's still the human that invented it all so there must be a way to fit in both the AI and human in terms of some certain jobs, to me the human still have the upper hand on this whole matter trust me.

The world is always changing and we can't say with certainty that what roles will be left for humans and what roles will be taken over by AI in coming years. We just need to keep an eye on AI and keep ourselves updated about latest trends of AI, just in case we are fired by our company or lose online work due to AI then we will be in a position to get started with AI. This is no more a buzz word but a reality and we need to embrace that change with open arms.

I was having a conversation with some friends around AI, mind you they all use technology to draw (digital arts and stuff) and I said to them, as you use these technologies as a tool to make your art better and easy for you that's simply what AI is, a tool and what you decide to do with that tool depends on you and your creativity. If you know your job requires your creativity, I don't think you will ever be afraid of AI but it is when you know you don't really contribute to the overall workflow and all you do is just 'function' that's when you will be afraid and full of hate for AI, that's just my take

 I highly agree to what @OP is saying.  AI is not here to take our jobs but to enhance our performance producing more quality works with less hours needed.  But we cannot deny the fact that with every development and implementation of these technological development, there are jobs and works that were greatly affected to the point of not needing that much manpower resulting to loss of jobs and lay outs.

Now if our work or job is highly affected by AI development, we should be prepare to embrace them and make it a tool to help us more valuable in the eyes of the employers or better make the industry see that it needs a new set of job that produce much quality works using AI implementations.

Let's not deceive ourselves; AI will make many jobs obsolete, and many people will lose their jobs. According to Goldman Sachs, artificial intelligence (AI) could replace the equivalent of 300 million full-time jobs, such as customer service representatives, receptionists, accountants, bookkeepers, salespeople, and research and analysis. Warehouse jobs, Insurance underwriting, and others will be massively affected. So yes, AI will make people lose their jobs.

With every new invention, workers lose their jobs. But the unemployed will have to move to other sectors. And as the OP said, learning about AI is important if you want to switch to a new sector. So I also agree that AI is not taking our jobs, but those who use it will take them. Over the years, I have been an advocate of integrating AI into your job tasks. AI makes jobs faster, more accurate, and cheaper. And this is what most organisations want from staff.

While I agree on the part that AI may steal our job if we ignore our responsibility as a worker, but let's not forget that AI also cannot fully succeed without a person behind it, operating it, giving commands and setting the goals, or designing the system. AI still need our guidance and assistance so they can also perform the task well that are given to them.

AI still need us, and we need AI as well. If we want the best outcome regarding our job, therefore human and AI should work hand in hand.

Instead of being worried about Ai taking your jobs the main thing you should be focused on is how to adapt to the system to make sure that you can use Ai to your advantage, those that think critically actually knows this.  Ai improves the results you get from doing a particular task meaning that you can maintain relevance in what you do using Ai. An there are also some jobs that will always need humans, So cannot take over a every job the way some people think, it is about placing yourself in that position now.

This is the exact logic that I have because if the biggest threat has been identified as artificial intelligence, then it becomes easier for you to tackle it by becoming equipped with making use of this AI's to be better at your output.
Identifying the problem and not making any move to try solving it will become the challenge and major problem for many people because they will be laid of work as a result of their poor output. Those are the people who will be replaced by AI.

Some jobs are best done with AI than a person can ever deliver. I saw a debate recently about who is going to deliver, like higher an AI to do a programming job for you or rather hire a person to do the job but from the replies that I saw, many people don't know how AI work. You can make an AI to do a job for you and it will do it perfectly but you are going to use the rest of your days to do debugging and look to some things so it doesn't break the existing things you have broken.

There is nothing you can't do with AI but even as they are good, they are have limitations to how they fit into your work whether it's a new work or old work. There are some programs you will write with AI that you are going to to need another programmer to review the gibberish it has written for you. There are some AI that may even take control of your work space that's why it's important you don't have to expose everything about your work to AI.

Take a deep breath. The robots are not forming a union against you.  But someone using AI well, they might quietly take the opportunities you keep postponing.

People should know and learn how to use technology to their advantage, instead of trying to blame technology and seeing it as a bad thing that is here to stealing someone's Job. People should look at the better part of technology such as the problems that it solves when compared to human efforts over time.

People should know that times has changed, and that the working environment too, is undergoing a revolution. That is why we are seeing the rise of technology such AI which is here to enhance human efforts because, the fact is that humans are limited in nature. Just imagine someone in the office is given an assignment which looks bulky, and may take days or even weeks to finish it. But with AI that is done in a matter of minutes or hours.

At this point in time it's now left for us to adapt, these technology which is definitely going to be more useful to human . No job is going to be stolen from anyone because, anyone who thinks that AI is going to steal their jobs is just lazy .
