What's stopping SOL from going mainstream and skyrocketing in price

What do you guys think is the main blocker here for a real explosive breakout to new ATH for SOL ?

Nothing is the blocker, the token is cooling off from last year price rally, SOL surged to a new all time high of $295 in the month of January last year and after which, the price fall to $96 before pumping to $253 again around September last year, most of those token has been on the dip since late months of 2025, and there's no way they won't fall when Bitcoin is also in the bearish season. What Sol is experiencing the bear season, probably the price will surge again during the next bull season of Bitcoin.

I actually bought SOL on spot trading worth $1k at $73.40 since the last week of July. I am not stressing about the current price because I strongly believe it will pump before the year runs out. I have that confidence. The market is clearly not favorable to any coins right now . Bitcoin is annoyingly down by some wide percentage and coins like SOL is down as well, they are just obeying the law of gravity for now. Once the bullrun return SOL will surely rally high. The project has strong fundamentals, It is just a matter of time and I will be patient till then.

Cryptocurrencies are also in the bear market and you expect solana to increase when bitcoin is almost 50% below its all-time high? Most of these coins are following bitcoin price.

Taking cognisance of the price of solana in the last bear market of $8 and also punting the current price $70 aso which showns %775 increase from 2022 to 2026 this is an indication of how promising solana market value will be in the future, the demand from the network infrastructure will always Keep the value in the increasing capacity since alot of institutional investors will look in the way of the solo network to build their infrastructure on solo chain.

Yes we can. And fundamentals mean squat when people buying and selling it are purely speculative investors / traders.

BTC and ETH have had their relief rallies in the bear market as well but that has not happened with SOL yet.
While the bear market is definitely one of the major reasons, I guess SOL should have at least appreciated a little in BTC pair.

This is the chart for BTC, ETH and SOL in last 1 year. If you look carefully, we can see that initially SOL was performing really well around October but then later it kept on declining.
Even after declining it still was competent enough but then later when BTC and ETH had some relief near April - May, SOL was still underperforming.
I am just saying that other than the bear market, there are some more factors which has made SOL underperform than it's competitors.

This is correct, but I understood it a bit differently. Yes, it may not go up right now, at this moment, when all else is low. The market is bearish, and everything is going down, and there is no need for SOL to go up at this moment; that should not be happening at the moment. However, what I understood was that, compared to other coins, why is it not going up compared to "others", such as ETH or even BTC, or whatever else?

I mean we are talking about a coin that is doing everything correct, it is safe, secure, fast, and can be used so much and yet it will not go up in gas fee neither, it can cover so much TPS at the same time and had all of the memecoins and projects and games all using it at the same time and nothing went wrong and have a great dev team behind it. So assume it like when the bull finally comes back: do you think that SOL will be taking over everything else? I mean, even if it stays under BTC, do you think SOL could be second place? I see Solana as a strong project considering how its price is moving in this bear market when almost every project is struggling to survive. Bitcoin is more than -40% below its all time high, and Solana is still strong to trade at the range of $70-75, it is a good project and I don’t see any weakness in the project.

Doing DCA on SOL is what I think I will do now, it will go up when the market moves bullish because it is a project this is being used by new projects most, so don’t expect massive pump now dieting the bear market, but when the market bullish, I think Solana is a project to watch.

You don't have to expect too much from the bear market, you can expect the price of Solana to pump during the bull but not now.
So many whales are selling their Bitcoin gradually and it's not something that is sending a positive signal to investors.

Solana is a good altcoin and you don't have to expect too much from a project many investors are contemplating whether to invest more on it or reduce the amount of eggs they are putting in the Sol basket. There are too many memecoins and shitcoins launching their projects using Solana blockchain and this is what so many holders are not confident about during this bear market if their investments is going to sustain in this bear.

Solana is not an influential coin that drives the market, it's one of the altcoin that respect the altcoin season cycle. If other altcoins are down, you should expect the same on Solana and it's whole ecosystem.

If you try to compare it with eth and BNB, you could only see that these two had already been grounded in the industry and that Sol and other L1 and L2 are fighting hard to be more grounded, so it's not yet successful for Sol to be 100% strong the industry that much.

Wait for it to pass through stages before amazing results.

There is no one big obstacle that is preventing SOL from going higher. Bitcoin's cycle plays a major role in Crypto trading, and when the market sentiment is low, even a good project will not be able to drive momentum. SOL has already proven itself to be able to resurrect from deep corrections and make solid rallies. Bitcoin could resume another strong bull market and a return to liquidity for altcoins could have a positive impact on SOL. While the fundamentals and ecosystem remain relevant, patience is the crucial factor as short-term price moves may not always be indicative of long term projects prospects.

Yes, that’s right. Bear markets always pose a challenge for most altcoins to rebound. And we can see that the altcoin Solana surged significantly during last year’s bull market or even when Bitcoin’s price was experiencing a sharp rise. I personally believe that Solana’s previous price surge proves that Bitcoin’s bull market always has an impact on altcoins. This situation also shows that during Bitcoin’s bull market, where there are so many investors from various backgrounds who help drive up the prices of cryptocurrencies. And we can see this euphoria around Bitcoin’s all-time high, where we observe that so many altcoins also experienced price surges.
