Why they didn't implement replay protection?
Because they don't have to. Just use anything, what is blocked by BIP-110, for example P2PK, or OP_RETURN with 84 bytes, and then your coins will be splitted.
Or, you can also use any already splitted coins. If something is included in one of those BIP-110 blocks, then they won't include any conflicting transaction later. And it is quite unlikely, that they will reorg these Roughnecks blocks, after Proof of Work change.
Isn't 84 bytes allowed by BIP-110? I think that was the maximum value they wanted to keep if im not mistaken. also P2PK isn't that deprecated or considered unsafe by now? I just use legacy addresses, the ones that begin with 1, P2PKH, which I still think is the best long term format for holding. I think this whole thing started with SegWit anyway. I use bc1 addresses if im asked to use them since most people use them nowadays, but I wouldn't keep money there for the long term, so im staying with legacy addresses until quantum computing proves they are not safe. Im not going to be doing anything different because of Luke's fork. Im just going to wait a for a while, and then go about my business normally after it's proven the token is worth zero. Like im not going to be doing different weird stuff to split the coins. How do I check if the coins I own are already splitted anyway? what block explorer will show this?
