The weakest link of a high-quality team like PSG is its goalkeeping; Safonov inspires no confidence at all.
PSG absolutely needs to sign a top-class goalkeeper for this season.
They should have kept Donnarumma (PSG could easily have matched the fee City paid).

As for the match, PSG was the heavy favorite; I thought Aston Villa might pull off an upset, but they are missing a lot of players.
Kvaratskhelia scored a trademark goal of his. We also had the chance to see a young player named Madjo in action during this match.
It was a bold move for Emery to give the young talent Madjo a chance instead of Abraham in this game.
I hope to see Emery win the UEFA Super Cup one day; he is an excellent manager, yet he still hasn't won that trophy.
You are right, the PSG goal keeper is really below standard even against Arsenal in the champions league match i observe his numerous lapses, yesterday against Aston Villa he demonstrated same weakness i just hope PSG will find a replacement for him soonest, a club with such pedigree doesn’t need lose hands in any wing, what has just been helping PSG not to concede much is their attack else they would have been conceding a lot because the goalkeeper is not good.

This new season let every team boost up, the era of a particular team dominating all round shouldn’t be tolerated again, PSG shouldn’t be allowed to win both the champions league and super cup, are other teams sleeping? I even felt Aston Villa could pull a stunt when they equalized 1:1 but they couldn’t and ended up losing 2:1, anyways congrats to PSG on their well deserved victory.

PSG demonstrated that they were the superior team. They scored the opening goal through Kvara and initially tried to slow the tempo, but Aston Villa began to apply pressure.
Madjo missed several chances but scored a fine goal in the 45th minute, leveling the score at 1–1.
In the second half, Doue—who had provided the assist for the first goal—scored himself to make it 2–1.
The assistant referee raised the offside flag for this goal, but a VAR review ultimately confirmed it as a valid goal.

A ball with a built-in chip was used during the World Cup; I don't understand why it wasn't used in this match. It surely wouldn't be too difficult or costly to implement. In my opinion, a chipped ball should have been used here.
PSG won the trophy they deserved for the second consecutive time.

I thought Paris Saint-Germain might have won more comfortably against Aston Villa; given their form in the months leading up to the end of the season, I was expecting a margin of at least two or three goals, but they struggled despite having the majority of possession. The positive note is that, once again, Kvaratskhelia was decisive and should be considered for the Ballon d’Or. Furthermore, Aston Villa’s young striker Madjo deserves a mention as he looks set to be an excellent player in the future

There are rumors that PSG is set to sign Parma's Japanese goalkeeper, Suzuki. (If such a rumor has surfaced, the transfer is likely to happen soon.)
Suzuki delivered an impressive performance at the World Cup. He is only 23 years old and possesses excellent goalkeeping reflexes for his age.

PSG signed Chevalier with high hopes but failed to get the level of performance they were looking for from him.
I felt Chevalier was overrated even during his time at Lille. At PSG, he lost the starting spot to a goalkeeper like Safonov.
PSG will most likely send him to another club.

I think the Suzuki transfer will be announced very soon.
