In the first place we are not suppose to write in English in this local board, what is the use of local board if English is being used here.

Nigeria pidgin has dictionaries that document many of it's words and expression for example the Oxford English Dictionary. But we see the pidgin language as something that is not meant to only be used here.

The mod has already said my mind. In as much as some members of the LB would have loved to write in pidgin language, they are not fluent in writing or speaking it, so I believe it's the reason they use the English language than they can write very well. If the local board wants only pidgin, it means they are not welcoming their own country men who can write only in English and that will cause a great division here, unless the board will be divided in two section (English and pidgin) which is not good. The Mod's idea about fixing the issue is ok, I support it.

Exactly my point. I said it would be hard for a well born idegigin, not to know or not be able to speak pidgin in this era, irrespective of where you are studying or living inside Nigeria. In facts, even those that study outside Nigeria knows how to speak pidgin. At least I may accept the facts that some people could find it hard to type using pidgin, but as a true Naija guy it would be hard to believe that. Well, even if we decided to change our communications to pidgin or any to our 3 official language, that doesn’t changes the facts that another person from outside Nigeria cannot use comes in, we have alits of translators now aways that can explain or translate everything from A to Z. I think the only viable solution for those who voted the first option would be to use the proposal below as it's nearly impossible to move a board of 70-80% English to strictly Pidgin. Let's be realistic and tell ourselves the truth.

I think this will solve the whole drama of pidgin and no pidgin. They can even self moderate the thread so that anyone who wants to go off the rules of their thread will know that their comments can be deleted by the OP. If we had a common language like those countries that doesn't speak other language apart from their own, it would have been better. But here in Nigeria, even the pidgin that majority of people use to interact with, writing it is quite difficult for a lot of people. Another thing is that many people speak this pidgin differently because an Hausa man speaks pidgin different from how an igbo man speaks, same as the Yoruba people.

That is a point that some of the proponents of an only-Pidgin local board seem to forget. Sometimes i read posts by users written in Pidgin in this local board and it is badly written, and it becomes very hard to make sense of it.

Imagine if users from the South-South region of Nigeria, like Portharcourt for example, start writing in their own kind of Pidgin. Have you heard some of those guys speak Pidgin? You can barely understand a thing. This is the reason why English and Pidgin suits our local board better.

Does this suggestion solve anything? I don't think so. OP's major concern is how users from other countries are impersonating as if they are Nigerians, so even if a Sub-board for English is created, they will still post there claiming to be Nigerians who do not fully understand pidgin.
