Noones P2P shutting down their services!

They still managed to survive a few years, but ultimately they also ended up shutting down because of compliance obligations that, by design, make it difficult for these kind of platforms to operate.

I guess they just did the same again in the name of Bitvalve but don't know where it is registered but I am 100% sure now that who was in charge of Noones is the one behind the new platform too.

I came to this conclusion after the Bitvalve official telegram page is removed by telegram and then their just renamed the Noones official telegram to Bitvalve since yesterday.

That is probably a scammer that was impersonating NoOnes and is now impersonating BitValve. The Telegram group that they mentioned in an old Twitter post is still active, although they haven’t used it in years.

It’s a common tactic for scammers to repurpose their accounts. There are so many fake support agents that have contacted me pretending to represent some service I was using and when I later scroll through those messages, they have already changed their profile information.

I read that pinned message which says the Telegram channel is closed, so who knows it could be legit one. But they had another official group for the purpose of handling the trade dispute which contains name VIP and that is what they renamed as Bitvalve now.

I was so skeptical about using the new platform first but I treid with small amount and it went fine and done around 10+ trades since I registered so there is no issues till now.

I stopped using Noones a while ago after my card got disabled and I needed to verify my address to access those, but it seems clear to me that this space requires more of these types of services in order to survive.

I picked out LocalCoinSwap from that directory -

That was earlier when I started the post but the trade only completed about 30 minutes ago.

What I noticed is that there is a lot of what I imagine are african mpesa sellers, my trade today
was with an mpesa seller but its not an instant trade.

Here in Europe we can avail of many "internet banking options" which support mpesa payments
but they are not "instant". If I pay through Revolut to a seller the payment is reveived in a matter
of seconds.


So overall not an economical trade, and slow. Anyway I thought I would share my experience.

Right now it does not seem like there are many offers but given that its users have the ability to import their stats from Noones, I would imagine it's just a matter of time until people migrate their accounts.

I just now checked the website and it looks like another copycat version of Noones, just like how Noones was when it was launched. And also I can see some of the traders who I traded with earlier on Noones and offer decent price.

But just like any p2p, it is filled with more money launderers, so pick the traders with right criteria not based on the price alone. Number of completed trades, positive feedback and choose bank transfers.

Yes I can now confirm it's Ray's new project.

I know, these money launderers are a huge problem. If you're not careful, your account can get frozen. Fortunately I have a good trader guy who I always trade with so that I don't have to partake in offers from random people.
