Why the difference in price on same exchange but on different device?

There may be a difference in the prices of the same coins on different exchanges, but for the price difference for the same exchange to differ between the application and the website is something I never thought possible. I expect there is only a difference in synchronization.

Sometimes that is related to Internet connection where one devices don't have lack with the connection but other devices gets lack. That would not the only reason why the price could be different but I never see that because I don't trade with others but I just checking the price and friends trade it. I only tells my analysis to them and we sharing and learning together but not trading together because that could be confuse.

well, in conclusion you are right, this is can be a normal glitch, since PC and mobile typically have different capabilities, this can affect on data loading. some device may update quickly, while others require longer to load the latest data and need a refresh to update.

First of all, I will say whether you two were actually watching the same market. Because the price of Binance's Spot and Futures is not mandatory to be the same, and in the case of Futures, Mark Price and Index Price are different things. So it would not be right to say that the app is wrong just because you see two prices in two places. If two people are watching the same BTC/USDT Spot market at the same time, then there is a possibility that the app's data refresh or display delay may occur. However I don't think that the Web version is more accurate than the app.

Well, I was trying to compare something on exchange not just different exchange but same exchange. Last night I was viewing something on Binance exchange with a friend who do uses Binance exchange to trade as well, on my Binance app I was seeing $63,200 and I was also seeing that on his desktop the price is far way higher than mine, which is $63,599. I wanted to know from those that are also using Binance to trade, is it more better to use web version to trade than using app for the trading? How many of you have witnessed this or could it be just a mistake on the app?

It's not about the exchange, it more about the devices, one is obviously faster than the other meaning that price updates are showing quicker in one that the other.
The prices are always fluctuating, they don't ever stay in the same value long enough so it might just be that one device is already showing the new price while the other is still showing the previous ratings, it's not impossible,
Maybe you can experiment with using the same type of device under the same network to check if the prices are still different or if they will be the same, I doubt they will be exactly the same but the purpose of the experiment will be to confirm that.

There can be a bit of difference in either p2p or spot market. But the price difference won't be that much or if there's no really difference at all, the display is only giving you an estimation and then when the actual price comes, it will be the same with binance entirely. The price fluctuates a lot so even with split seconds of checking, there's already the difference from both ends. And to where it is better to trade depends on where you're very familiar and comfortable with. For quick trades, I use the app but for more serious trades and takes time, I'll use a bigger screen on PC.

The possibilities are there that op is observing the different prices on same pair but what seem to be the issue could be from the app not the web version. When an app requires an update, it slows down in operation and that can simply reduce or increase the frequency of volatility thereby showing difference in one of them. Another reason could be from the phone speed depending on the sophisticated nature of one phones against the other. More reason could be adduced to the network provider of the different phones. For instance if the two phones are using different network, then that can cause some delay in one of the phones. But overall, web version seem to be faster because it won't have any incumbrances unlike the app that may be slowed down because of the version or and lack of update. Otherwise, prices from the same exchange is suppose to produce the same figures for the same pair.

OP should document images for this purpose because this is unlikely to happen, two different devices does not mean two different orderbooks - provided you are trading on the same pair and on the same type of market. You are justing using either of the devices to access that orderbook, prices are bound to remain same.

Still if you see something like this, instead of making a thread here, you should take screenshots and send them to the Binance support.

Again I say this is very unlikely to happen because a huge number of complaints would have already come in. Just check whether you are on the same type of market or not.

There will be a lot of complaints from Binance users if price differences happen on their trading platform. Trading on the web version or the smartphone app shouldn’t have any price differences. Binance is still Binance, they provide a single order book. 
It’s possible that when accessing the app version, there’s a problem with price updates. Could it also be related to the performance of the device and the internet connection being used?

Anyway, if you look closely at what I'm saying, you'll see that there's no difference. At the beginning, I said that it's "illogical" for there to be a difference in price, and that's absolutely true.

Then I said that in some cases a time delay may occur due to a delay in the update or the use of different servers, which makes the price appear different when in fact it is not different, but just a time delay.
Therefore, in my opinion, there is no contradiction between the two sentences. In other words, a price difference is not possible, and if it occurs, it will be unreal or temporary due to the delay.

I personally also use Binance for trading and for investing, such as to accumulate BTC. I also use the Binance app on my phone and the web version on my PC, but I personally have never experienced anything like what the OP described. However, sometimes something almost similar happens. for example, with different trading pairs like BTC/USDT and BTC/USDC. These two pairs often show slight discrepancies, though not always. OP, could you check again which trading pair this happened on USDT or USDC?

I only witnessed this when checking prices on different exchanges at some point. Still, I believe what happens in your case is an issue that has to do with price data refresh and latency response on devices like mobile apps, desktop browsers, and APIs, which may make prices slightly different. At the same time, sometimes it could be the internet connection that delays the price updates.
We also have a situation where some devices might lag due to capacity (it is just like miners using the latest equipment and miners using the old).
For trading, you can use the device you know will be good for you.

In the case of central exchanges, there should not be a difference in price for the same coin at the same time. Maybe the price update was delayed on two different devices. There will not be a difference in price on the same exchange, be it the website version or the exchange apps.
I also tried multiple times to compare and tried to compare the exact same coin on several devices at the same time and got a 95 percent match in each case. Maybe in your case the device was delayed in updating.

I haven't experienced it myself but I think this is a visual bug. If it is the same exchange, it will use the same back end system so you would most likely get the price that is indicated on their back end. Exchanges has been gotten smarter through out the years and being binance the current biggest exchange, it would most likely be a bug and be fixed in a short time.

It's hard to even do an arbitrage trading on big pairs nowadays, exchanges might had develop some anti atbitrage measures to lessen the spread on other exchanges. Though having that kind of rare scenario, I would most likely to test it out by buying the same quantity at the same time and check if it's possible to make a profit on that scenario.

Web version is the One that is mostly correct as that do direct with a live update. For instance; the app version of it lack update or you need to clear your cache of the app, some could be history then you have it synchronized together with real price update. Sometimes you need to know the kind of app you are using to trade, because after Binance has delisted Nigerian Naira from their exchange most of the Nigerians do not use them that often since they are out of p2p market, I believe that any is possible and likely to happen on the exchange that was many people from Nigeria are mostly using Bybit exchange to trade since they now have p2p market on their exchange.

You explain everything perfectly in your first part. The Web update faster than app because it's pulling directly from the orderbook but most apps (not only Binance) lag a few seconds to update the live price. But I think the second part about P2P is irrelevant in this discussion. P2P is entirely a different service and trading is completely different. A platform doesn't need to offer P2P before you can use it to trade if you trust them. Binance have delisted naira P2P from their platform but it doesn't stop people from using it for other activities. I still use Binance up to date and also use other exchanges that offer NGN P2P service. But I guess you're mistaken normal trading to P2P trading.

The difference is huge, that can't happen unless one was lagging and the other was live or one had a different pair than the other, like euro, USDC, or something like this. Can you double check? And share a screenshot with us, because this would be a strange event that should be recorded.

And it will be a lot easier for us to answer on the basis of the pictures, because it is simply not possible that a gap that big could occur due to the lags in the devices. I mean, if your device is too slow with 2 GB of RAM, etc., then maybe, or if the app gets stuck sometimes with issues, then it explains it, if not, then the main difference is going to be the pair. Please double-check.
