But again, this topic is about having clear and consistent rules, not about whether another EPL thread is needed.
It's like you're creating your new Bitcoin wall observer topic and expecting the moderators to delete or lock the old one that has been there for ages lol. It's nothing about consistency here. It's just common sense.
Two old threads are already there with lots of history, and they (mostly the titles) are usually updated. Why do you think there is a need to create a new thread every other time?

If you are interested in such topic, a reasonable approach will be to engage and post  in an already existing thread instead of repeating thesame subject. well by deleting that topic.
You know some people will know the right thing to do but they won’t, they will intentionally do what they know won’t sit well with the existing rules, and when action is taken by those acting as oversights, they will come ask question pretending as if they don’t know what they did wasn’t supposed to be. Like it makes no sense when you already aware that two threads that covered your areas of interest are already place, and such person is still opening another thread on same topic. And the funny aspect is that it’s a high ranking member, if it were low ranking member that haven’t gotten much experience, it would have been different.

What is so special about having your own thread on same topic? If I were OP I would wouldn’t have bothered creating this particular thread because he ought to have know why the thread was deleted or moved without anyone telling him.

But they're so many threads in gambling sections that's duplicate to another thread, which is also running but they're yet to be deleted,  does it mean that those threads that's running that have the same points of views have not been reported as duplicate, I want to know if is the reason why they keeps running?...because we have so many threads that have similarities in discussion but they're not self-moderated, but they still Existing..From my observations, the understandable part is that, assuming the thread were self-moderated it wont have been deleted...

Sometimes I don’t understand how people operate on this forum, the Op knows there is so many threads with Premier League discussions and he went ahead and created that thread what was he expecting at the first place for the mods to clap for him or her and congratulate him or her for creating such Topic, it’s more like he is creating a thread for FIFA World Cup, when he is completely aware that there is a similar threads as such, people do things intentionally and still seeking for people’s opinion, I think there are rules and guidelines that applies to creating a topic or threads, which is why the moderators have the power to delete them, him mentioning about consistency is totally wrong because there is no consistency in that, it will only create Chaos.

It has been discussed over and over again, actually, someone has quoted a response from me from 2025 here and that was about how it was a year alrady since we had the same discussion. The general consensus about 3-4 years when spam started to become a problem ago was that:

- old topics will stay since nobody wants to delete 1000 pages, and it would be unfair to pick one
- self-moderated topics are excluded since, well, spammers stay away from them
- pool leagues, fantasy leagues, are excluded since they have an uniques userbase

Now, asking you a question back: Do we need another non-moderated EPL league topic? If the answer is yes, then may I ask why?
