However, not in this cycle, so yes, the whales are buying and we might not know the reasons. Perhaps we have seen the capitulation already as there was a lot of post about it specially X and it followed how this buying not just the whales but perhaps average joe investor as well.
As somebody who sees Bitcoin getting pumped and dumped by double-digit percentage IN JUST A SINGLE DAY, this isn't surprising anymore for me. I'll be surprised if this happens for no reason whatsoever, but this time, the FED stepped up to do some buybacks.

You know what surprises me more? The fact that there are threads here that are being created stating that "We are in a bull run" or "Is this the pump that we are waiting for the bull run to happen". Cheesy Like they completely forgot that we are still in a bear market and these folks are acting like they're complete newbies. I might get ragebaited by those thread, but that's fine. Cheesy Anyway, I guess this is the time that I will say that we've already seen the bottom with Bitcoin reaching as low as $58,000. This pump might be the final reason for me why Bitcoin will not touch $50,000 anymore at least in this bear market cycle.

I also don't know the exact reasons, but one obvious one is because the whales are taking this as an opportunity for them to accumulate at a much lower price because they believe that in a few years time, the price will go up and POSSIBLY double their money.

Wait until we see the next zones of $80k, $90k and $100k.

I think it's important to see that if there's now a change on this bear market and it's about to end soon, we'd see those pushes from those prices.

But right now, it can be a trap and it might take time before it breaks the $80k zone. While this is giving us the encouragement to hold more, and it becomes the reason to say that the bear has been broken, not yet quite.

If it gets to $90k, I'll be too certain to expect $100k. And if eventually it crosses above $100k, be convinced that we are out of the bear market.

Investors that was not too sure of the market will consider buying at $100k, hoping to get profit in the bull run, may be disappointed. But my stance remains that we are still on a bumpy ride.

I'm no fool to get trapped by market sentiment Undecided. Experience is enough for me to know the right thing to do at this point.
Yes, that's my condition and maybe others too before they're convinced that the bear's already out and gone.

But not that too easy I guess because whenever Bitcoin pulls something such as this type of pump. A correction is expected.

Now, that's what we have to wait if that's going to be a reciprocal dump that's quite high or just a little out of this pump.

I separate myself from the gang of whales insofar as the buildup isn't essentially a new bull run. Large holders may make purchases when sentiment is low and prices are low, but this doesn't indicate a direction for the market. The recent purchases may very well be because some investors think the risk of a decline is minimal, but Bitcoin has come up trumps many times in the past. I would prefer to wait and see the overall trend, overall volume, and macro conditions rather than call the bottom based on whale activity alone. Speculation will have to be overturned by time if $58K was indeed the true low.

I find it strange that Whales have been sitting on their money looking at the Bitcoin market
hover around $65k for the last number of months then all of a sudden they all decide to buy
at the same time.

Or did the market respond to some of the negative events recently and in turn liquidated some
short positions which in turn liquidated more and then tht called in the Whales to act for fear
its the last chance to buy Bitcoin at ~$70k ?

I'm sure they aren't just staring blankly at the charts not knowing what to do next.

They're probably waiting or looking for the right reason or timing to make their next move. And when they got hold of the information that the Treasury will flood the market with cold cash with the plan to double its long-term bond buybacks, that was the moment they decided it's time to do the buying.

Time is of the essence, of course. Surely, everybody wanted to be the first to buy. The price was foreseen to catapult. Nobody wanted to wait, especially not on or later than September 9. The $4 billion per operation isn't just the ceiling; it's the floor. That's big money, some of which is expected to flow into Bitcoin.

This must have prompted many investors to liquidate their short positions and use the money instead to stack Bitcoin.

Yes that sounds very viable. The US treasury kickstarting Whales into buying Bitcoin, or at
least kickstarting like minded people into taking action to counter the Treasury's next FIAT
debasement move.

I guess a lot of Whales might have been expecting a market drop below $60k?

Its interesting that traders would liquidate their short trades to just stack Bitcoin instead,
I guess its the ones who acted fast are the ones not getting liquidated by force.

Could this be a signal that Bitcoin is about going higher or just another short term pump to attract more retails into the market then we'll see it go back below $65k again?

I know investors need not to worry whether price drops or not so that question is mostly directed to traders, let me hear your opinion.

I have read somewhere that it is the US proposed policy for cryptocurrency that is pumping the market currently, I couldn’t agree fully much to it since I haven’t even gone through to check the legitimacy of the claim. Bitcoin has really shown a big boost this few days and this is really what many have been waiting for bitcoin.

The bull came as a surprise but we can’t tell how long it is going to wait up like this, there is more to this if I’m not mistaken. We have seen how the market has been moving, there was no signs of a bull whatsoever, but fortunately we’ve seen the market move so rapidly that it breaks some resistance so quickly. Still observing to see the direction the market will be headed in few weeks from now again.

I believe the whale trading is certainly an interesting event to watch. But I wouldn't count it as a confirmation that Bitcoin is on a straight path towards a new high. Buying pressure can reinforce the trend. But traders should also watch for any resistance zones. Volume and if retail FOMO begins to push the price too hard. The market can shift so rapidly in either direction that I'd prefer to wait until I'm sure, rather than taking my chances that this is the beginning of a new bull market. On the bull side. If Bitcoin successfully breaks out and demand stays consistent, then it's a very strong case.
