Perhaps if my ambitions were limited only to living well (like a king in your interpretation), then I would be satisfied with 300k. Firstly, I already have some welth and I'm not starting from scratch. But in reality, there are a few "buts": firstly, I live in a country at war. I'd like to change it. Secondly, I'd like to not just live but also pursue my own projects and have the funding to do so. Therefore, $2 million seems like the minimum I'd be comfortable with. This is really the bare minimum. Relocating with family to a normal country would eat up most of this money.

Is not necessarily the money. It's the individual itself. If we recall, human wants are insatiable and that can tell you why people keep losing back their funds to gambling again after making huge money. But as well, not everybody needs that 300k before they stop. Small will stop at even 5k. So, needs are different same as humans. No, and I don't really see any reason why stop gambling. Human nature always wants more. We can’t find happiness and satisfaction in one place. The poor want to become middle class, the middle class wants to become rich and the rich want to become ultra rich. A similar concept can be applied here. If I look at it practically then for me, 300k USD is still very low. One luxury car can easily consume that much money. The irony is that so many gamblers who lose control and turn into addicts will eventually sink in these colossal sums of money - often many years wages, without properly thinking it through. It's like death by a thousand cuts, but instead emptying out their bank accounts via thousands of separate deposits. There is no helping some people and I fear that even if an addict were to by some impossible odds walk away with a mega jackpot of a million dollars, they would be back the next day to spend it again and see it gradually disappear. I personally would be set for life with a quarter of a million extra right, but it would go straight into reliable investments rather than frittered back away on a casino. As you say though, that's highly dependent on the currency because it wouldn't make sense for most that are not near a dollar in value.

I don’t seem to completely grasp the term walk away, are we just suppose to quit  gambling entirely after winning something big? No. Personally I love the idea of profit making when gambling but, to a certain extend I choose to gamble because I want to and not minding if I lose or win though the idea of walking away is as a result of lack of discipline. It seems to me that after such big win, your friend's acquaintance actually developed false sense of confidence. He may have thought that he understood casino's system. He may have deluded himself into thinking that he had found system to control his luck.

He may have thought that if winning $300,000 was so easy, then turning it into $10 million would not be impossible! This greed and his winning attitude are what caused his downfall. Besides, I don't see any reason why he would go back to gambling after building house and farm.

I believe that the major reasons why people can decide to walk away from gambling and stick to it is strong personal decisions because I've heard a lot of stories about people who hit the jackpot and due to greed of believing that they can still hit the jackpot again they will lose everything back to the casino just like what is said in the OP. Of course, this amount of money is a huge amount, especially for our country, but what you said is also true for me, if I speak for myself, will I really be able to stop myself from gambling, this question makes me question. Because whenever you win this big, I might get greedy, although I usually control myself while gambling, but whenever I am faced with this huge amount of money, I feel like I might not be able to control myself.

Yes the most difficult thing to do in gambling is to walk away because he or she has made enough profit in gambling,  other things may be possible in gambling but quitting can never be instead the gambler will restrategies to make more profit on the process of gambling.

• Gamblers who want to make money to meet their needs.

I fall into the second category. You might be wondering why I choose the second option. The reason is that, when it comes to gambling, the enjoyable part is winning. Every time you win, you get money, and that money can be used to gamble again the next day. That is why I consider gambling to be purely for entertainment.

Really hard to tell how much because i'm not really on the sittuation yet, but if Im already able to reach the 100k$ something around that I might easily walk away it that money for sure, I mean for some people it was already life changing money, and here in my country it was really a huge money already, not sure about that I'll take even lower than that but it somehow win like a jackpot and the amount was 100k$ then Im withdrawing everything and not looking back.

I have said it repeatedly that majority of people gamble for money and not for fun, but people here keep pretending as if I they agree to it that someone will punish them for saying the truth. I repeat it's more than enough to stop gambling completely, many people who won $10k have left gambling for life, depending on such person target or mindset. What about those that haven't won before? I can't just see myself winning a huge amount of money and i will stop or walk away entirely from gambling because gambling is what i stake on a weekly basis to see if i can be lucky to win and  it is normal for a gambler to have a target on the amount to keep behind after withdrawing from his winning and use the remaining money to still try luck or better still the best option is to withdraw the whole $300,000 and take a day break and after then he can deposit money on his bet bet account to start allover again, so a gamblers within the community can buy the idea of gambling for fun, yet they risky so much just to be lucky to win and if a gamble has order means of source of income and still decide of making a profits from gambling as a gambler is not a bad idea.
