All this exaggerating and speculation by CZ and Saylor is just to remain relevant and keep more attention focused on their businesses because to think of it, how is it even possible for Bitcoin still undergoing so much policy remaking just to fit into society, gets to surpass a precious metal like gold that has been existing even before the current fiat currency of your country became a legal tender?

Just like @MiaChioe pointed out, it's going to require a 20x return from its current levels a d not even in the next two bull runs for Bitcoin to achieve this feat even though the price might get to an ATH that's believeable.
For Bitcoin to get to about $350k in the next bull run, would require that its market cap should be around $6.9trillion which is about 1/5 of golds current size and that's being mathematically illogical according to my calculations.

This is not really impossible for bitcoin to surpass the gold market cap but it won't be happening soon, but its highly possible. But even so, if bitcoin will overtake gold, still that won't stop people from investing in gold, they might end up diversifying and invest in both, but bitcoin would be their priority and put gold as next to bitcoin.

However, bitcoin would experience extreme price volatility that would make bitcoin price highly unstable too. And we might experience severe government restrictions too because increasing the price of bitcoin will become a threat to fiat, and worst is bitcoin will be subject for banning again, although total banning of bitcoin is still impossible.

Gold marketcap: $32.396 trillion.

That can happen but don't give it a time like for the next 1 or 2+ bull runs. That's a lot of x's that bitcoin has to make and it's going to take a while to be honest before surpassing gold's market cap.

If bitcoin will get to over $32 trillion in marketcap, it would have surpassed $1 million and going to $1.5 million in price.

That mean bitcoin volatility in the uptrend increased significantly in a way many people among us do not expect.

What I believe is that bitcoin will get to all time high,  but bitcoin will not go above $350000 in the next bull run.

Don't doubt it because that can finally happen in the future. But people doubt it because it's given a timeframe that's quite too short for it to make.

So the timeline might not match based on the reality that we think if bitcoin can do that or not. I still believe that cycles can change and super cycles can come but given that prediction as if it is possible on the next bull run, the possibility is there but unlikely to happen.

Why would it be a threat to Fiat?  Bitcoin has not broken fiat up to this point, and it is not going to start just because its market cap flips gold.

If (When) Bitcoin reaches or overtakes gold in terms of market cap it will be because it established as "better digital gold".  It wont be because it replaced everyday fiat currencies.

He did predict a pretty accurate price last time as far as I can remember, I would not take that as a guarantee that he gets it right this time too.

It would be very interesting to see Bitcoin over take Gold.  I doubt it will happen as soon as the next Bull run but I suppose it HAS to happen some time in the rather far future.  If we expect Bitcoin to grow to as much as 33 TRILLION Dollars for its Market Cap now, what will it be after the next Halvings?  A Billion Dollar Bitcoin?

I understand how CZ is very bullish on his bitcoin price predictions for long term, and even predicted that bitcoin price could hit $500k or $1 million, and now surpassing the market cap of gold. I would believe the first predictions, but I think overtaking the market cap of gold is way too far. Yes it could happen but I don't think it will be realized in the next 5-7 years. Although bitcoin itself is unpredictable, but it does not mean that its future is highly guaranteed positive, we might wake up one day bitcoin price is already back to its initial years.

I don't trust CZ, he decieved me in the last bull run by saying that bitcoin will no longer follow the 4 years cycle, that it has entered into super cycle. That was why I was unable to exit the market at around $120k.

But in this interview, some blockers have quoted him out of context.

I heard when he was asked the best thing that could happen to bitcoin in 25 years. He said it's bitcoin hitting $1million. He was asked if it will take 25 years for that to happen and he answered, it will happen earlier than 25 years. I didn't quite get the gold part of the interview.

The posts in this thread show who has been in Bitcoin for a long time and who has yet to understand it.

Ask yourself, if you had money to invest and you could either invest it in Bitcoin or Gold, which would you invest in? Be honest.
I would put it into the currency which goes over 25% in less than 2 weeks. But that is just me, I am not here to give anyone investment advice, especially not bad advice.

What terrifies me is that countries keep "discovering" jaw-dropping gold reserves, especially in the last decade. Almost seems like gold is not as rare as we thought, huh? Not to mention science has given us the possibility of creating gold in the lab (nuclear transmutation), which is still not financially worth it due to the massive amount energy amounts it would take. But if we crack a sustained nuclear fusion, then we might even be able to crack heavy ion reactors in which gold could be a mere by-product.

So I am not into gold. Nor do I trust in what CZ is saying. I trust in Bitcoin

Price goes more than $125k last time yet bitcoin didnt surpassed gold in total market capitalization. I might consider it reasonable if they can hype bitcoin on not so excessive level just to spout nonsense.

Appreciate the bull sentiment but we gotta know that it's CZ saying this thing, so take it with grain of salt.

Realistically speaking Bitcoin at all time high have a market cap about $2.5 trillion, currently gold's market cap is $32 trillion.

It needs Bitcoin to do a 1300% increase within a cycle of bullrun from the previous ATH as starting point for that to happen.

If I remember correctly, that kind of massive gain only happened in 2013 or before that, after bitcoin reached $20,000 and beyond, the gain has diminished.

2017 ATH to 2021 ATH only roughly 3.5x increase, 2021 ATH to 2025 ATH have even lower increase which is around 1.8x or 2x.

Next bullrun, the gain probably going to be around 2x again or 3x at the best scenario, far from "overtaking" gold.

We all heard that praise "everything is possible" and this one isn't an exception especially we're in cryptocurrency forum, that's a no-brainer you'll get response that it will. Feels a hopeful take imo but I'm optimistic this will come considering the supply is low compared to gold. Before, this has been a "how" question when the market cap was just sitting in billions, but I think this time it's still a question but "when". A 20x increase isn't that huge and there are a lot of catalyst to make that happen.

But I actually hope that in the next bull run, BTC can rise to $1 million or more so I can profit significantly from my BTC investment. I also hope that CZ's predictions come true. However, I'm somewhat skeptical that BTC will rise to millions of dollars in the next bull run and surpass gold's capitalization. I believe it will take a long time to surpass gold's capitalization. I think BTC will potentially rise to the $250,000 to $275,000 range in the next bull run. I also don't think BTC will surpass $350,000 in the next bull run.

However, I think BTC's capitalization could eventually surpass gold's, but it will certainly take a long time because, in my opinion, the current gap between gold and BTC is very large. CZ owns a target audience that believes his ridiculous statements, he holds bitcoin for millions of investors through his exchange, and making tweets like this would keep them rather than take them away from him. He knows it's not possible, but he'd always find away out when the times comes, his view is only unrealistic considering the timeframe, looking at the age of bitcoin compared to gold, BTC has done a huge uplifting in market cap in less than two decades, and Gold has endured for centuries, given a few more decades, say 5-10, I think CZ would be right for saying that.

Numbers don't lie, and don't doubt it. It's impossible to happen, and I know that there are times where I say that "anything is possible", but this is one of those things where I don't think it will happen - let alone he also set a timeline for this one which is more or less 3 years.

Isn't this the same person that predicted that we will be having a "supercycle" this year? Didn't happen, right? The credibility of these popular people are being affected by their stupid and overexaggerated predictions like this one. He could've said that Bitcoin's market cap at one point COULD surpass the market cap of Gold, but he also put a timeline for it which makes it impossible to believe. Is there anybody here who still believe in these so-called analysts' predictions? Well, you can believe, but don't make decisions based off of their stupid predictions.

Bitcoin going to $3.5M in the next bull run? Hell NAH!!!!!. Let's be realistic. Even you're the most optimistic investor right now, you will not think that this is possible. My realistic prediction on the next bull run is that, Bitcoin's peak price will be somewhere around $200,000.

I think that the trend for Bitcoin market in future will be smaller ROIs but sometimes it can make big surprises. It will still depend on geopolitical issues and conflicts, monetary strategic policies globally and it's clearly that the latest market cycle was affected a lot by tightened monetary policies globally as consequence of massive money printing since Covid-19.

As I told above, I believe similarly like you do but I see there is still chance for surprising ROIs to appear sometimes. If the world has massive money printing again, reaching $250k will be very possible for Bitcoin in a next market cycle.

A next market cycle or next market cycles?
You must be clear about that, and if it is about a next market cycle, that is surely impossible, I have no belief that Bitcoin will rise to $1M for 1 BTC in years like 2028 or 2029.

What a coincidence that he recommends adding BNB to the portfolio.

It would be good if it reached the $350,000 mark, and it certainly won't exceed that level. Therefore, forecasts of $1–1.5 million seem premature.

If we look historical bitcoin volatility has actually been doing a downward trajectory and it’s definitely understandable because of the adoption and the growing market cap, in the past you would easily see a 6x in a single bull run but right now it’s definitely improbable to see bitcoin flips its ATH to a new one by that height in a single bull run. The last two ATH that were created actually signaled that bitcoin does close to 100% now and not more.

So taking this into account a 2x from the current ATH of $126,000 is $252,000 and $250k is my realistic all time high after the next bull run.

I am not surprised he always uses this opportunities to pitch his coins, he would have even listed Aster if the discussion went over to DEX, this probably the reason why I don’t rate them on predictions because it’s just to shill their portfolio and lure gullible investors into it

Such predictions seem unbelievable to me, I don't think they will come true. Actually I don't know what they base such predictions on.

Now I believe that at some point in the future Bitcoin's market cap will exceed or overtake gold. But I don't think it will happen in the next bull run, we may have to wait a few more cycles to see. No one can say for sure what Bitcoin's price will be in the next bull run, but I wouldn't expect more than 250k.

I don't want to waste time thinking about whether Bitcoin's market cap will surpass gold, I'm waiting for Bitcoin to hit $1 million first.
