The first match was action-packed, and the fans clamored for a rematch, so they are going to do a rematch. In their first match, Wardley dominated Dubois in the early rounds, but Dubois, who is a veteran fighter, overcame the situation to stop Wardley in the 11th round. Daniel Dubois will defend his WBO heavyweight world title against former champion Fabio Wardley in a highly anticipated rematch on 17 October at London's O2 Arena. Wardley-Dubois rematch set for 17 October in London

That first fight was really crazy. Wardley knocked Dubois down in first and third round, so start was in his favor. But then Dubois handled those pressure and completely turned momentum of fight around. And took the WBO title with stoppage in 11th round. Now in rematch, I'm waiting to see what adjustment Wardley bring this time. This time just giving Dubois an explosive start like before will not be enough to damage Dubois early again. Because in first fight, Dubois showed that he can recover from knockdown and use his power and pressure in long fight. Other hand, Wardley will also have to think about pace and energy management before taking heavy punishment like in that first fight.

It will definitely be fascinating to see the adjustments and improvements made on both of the fighter’s camp come 17 October at the O2.
Their first fight seem to have set a ridiculously high bar so i’m betting it’s gonna be a good fight to watch.
Overall I think Dubois is gonna win the rematch again. I don’t know how he’s gonna do it, but he has to find a way again, probably later than earlier.
I’m looking forward to seeing whether the O2 crowd and the rematch atmosphere is gonna change the dynamic of the fight at all.

Last fight in Manchester still gives me goosebumps! IDK, was Wardley smart enough to trigger this rematch clause? Or did he shoot himself in foot?
The way Dubois pulled that fight out in 11th round proved that Dubois is much more mature & dangerous fighter than he was before. I have seen Wardley’s gas tank was completely empty in front of Dubois’s level of spirit!
IMO it would be huge mistake for Wardley to face Dubois again in only 5 month. I don’t think he can fix these serious gap in his defense and stamina in such short time. I think Wardley is on verge of being knocked out by Dubois power punches again in front of his home fans at O2 Arena in London.

I'm sure a lot will change; usually, in a rematch, the fighters pick up where they left off. Wardley will try to finish him in the early rounds while saving energy for the later rounds, where Dubois showed strength in the championship rounds. I think it's going to be more exciting than the first match. I don't want to base my analysis on their last fight, but I still pick Dubois to win the fight because he keeps improving in every match. I have a feeling it will be a totally different match, but a very close one.

It's definitely going to be a bout to test resilience, strength and stamina this time around because that is what this rematch is all about. I wonder the kind of work rate Wardly must have put on to measure to his first time loss after having knocked Dubois out thinking it was that easy, but only to see Dubois drag on to the 11th round and won. If I were in Wardly's shoes, I would have waited a bit longer to seek a rematch because am sure Dubois isn't definitely resting on his oars having come from a victory and is still hot and confident enough to do it a second time. The WBO Heavyweight World Title is definitely onboard to go to whoever deserves it more. Am going to bet on Dubois again because of his fighting spirit.

Imma go to pick DDD. He's dominant in the last fight and what's wrong with Wardley to take a rematch just months after DDD beats him? Wradley should have taken some tune up game instead of doing another rematch, which i think he will lose it again. I never believe Wradley to win this game unless he can learn to move his head properly to avoid the DDD's punches. It'll be a mental attack to hit Wradley if he losses to DDD again in immediate rematch.
Dubois is also heavily favorite with 1/5 compared to Wradley 4/1. We know who's winning this.

Just by your description, I had to go look for the highlights to feel the energy and truly, Dubois (pronounced it like an English word at first until I sorted for the correct version) was a beast in that match. I noticed that at first, he wasn't able to catch up with his rhythm and kept getting shots and knockdowns, but once he was able to find it--- all he needed was that quick feint, a step back and a solid punch that straight up left a cut on Wardley's nose, I think. I felt terrible after I realized he had a severe cut, but that's the game. Since he never tapped out, I shouldn't have been bothered either. I got DDD, but he better be extra prepared for that wounded dawg!

Wardley-Dubois was one of the best heavyweight fights that I have seen. This brutal war of attrition took more out of Wardley, than it did Dubois. That’s why I favor Dubois in the rematch. His reputation for being a quitter is still a wild card factor that should be considered though.
Wardley did score several knockdowns, but Dubois was never badly hurt. On the other hand, Wardley was so badly beaten that there was questions about whether the referee should have stopped it earlier. Five months is a quick turnaround after taking that kind of damage. As thrilling as that first fight was, Dubois won very convincingly and I believe the second time around it will be an easier win for him.

Why does it feel like there are only a few boxers in the heavyweight division?
I notice the popular names seem to fight almost every year...
Anyway, for this rematch, I think Wardley will be more careful this time. Instead of going all-out for the KO, he may try to box smarter and win on points. If that happens and it becomes 1-1, then a trilogy would make sense.
my prediction, Wardley winning by D.

There are a lot of up-and-coming boxers in the heavyweight division, but they are not on featured or supporting cards. Many are building their reputation, or they aren't yet at a level where promoters and the boxing community have noticed them. I hardly noticed Itauma while he was building his reputation until he scored big knockouts, especially against Dyllian White. Another guy who's on experts' radar is Richard Torres; unfortunately, he suffered a second-round knockout against Frank Sanchez, which stopped his road to becoming a top-level fighter.

Good analysis; that's one of his huge mistakes: he leaned on Dubois' past bad performance nd underestimated him. I'm not saying he forced a knockout, but he was trying to because he knew Dubois was a quitter; he quit against Joe Joyce and Usyk, so by trying to hurt him and knock him out, he thought he could make him quit, but it backfired. This time he needs to fight smart and not go for a knockout, and only wait for an opportunity to present itself; Wardley needs to fight differently, or the fight will just become a continuation of the first match where he badly lost the fight.

His reputation for being a quitter is still a wild card factor that should be considered though. We have to remember Dubois quits three times, so a quitter will always quit if he lacks the motivation to continue or he thinks that he has done everything but couldn't keep up, so Wardley has something to target; Dubois motivation if Wardley can frustrate him then he can make Dubois lose his motivation and eventually quit. Wardley may have lost the fight badly, but he is a fighter who knows how to make a shift. He was in a hurry the last time and was very confident. I have this gut feeling that he will change his fight plan drastically and will likely pattern it after Usyk, who beat Dubois two times.

Here is the face-off, Dubois said that he has nerves going into this fight, so he might be nervous. And Wardley said that even if Dubois goes down, the power or the way he hit him is just a glance that's why he was able to get up. And Dubois also mentioned that he was not bothered that's why he was able to get back from the canvass. And their plan is to slowly chip Wardley slowly and that's what we really see here until round 11th. Both feels confident though. Wardley believe in himself that he can go and bounce back, and Dubois doesn't have the jitters as he is now the champion.

Dubois escaped hell during the first fight, his eyes saw something so am not surprised if he is saying he is nervous going into this fight. It could also be a strategy from him. You know these athletes like to play mind games with their opponents. Wardley didn’t deserve to lose that last match. I just hope he makes things right this time.

I also feel that one reason division seem small is that same established name keep getting prime TV slot. Newcomers need few good fight to build their own brand and become big name. However Wardley’s case is particularly worth noting. I don’t think he needs to completely stop hunting for knockout or just box for point. Instead of blindly trading punch with Dubois in the pocket as happened in 1st fight, in my opinion it is more important force him to reset after every exchange. If Wardley can maintain his preferred distance and conserve stamina for later round instead of burning his energy on unnecessary power punch then his conditioning will remain much better in later round.

Nah, with his style I don't think he can change that easily. That guy is a warrior, and based on his record, 20 wins with 19 coming by KO, he is really built for action. He only has one loss, so if he can avenge that, then a trilogy would make a lot of sense and would be good for both fighters. But whoever wins, I'm expecting this one to end by KO.

Right, their first fight was really dramatic, I mean it was really a back and forth, comeback fight. When you thought that Wardley has the numbers already, suddenly Dubois come from the brink of death. As Dubois weathered the storm, and then punished Wardley as the referee stopped the fight because Wardley is not responding to the flurries that Dubois is throwing on him. So we might expect another great war between the two.

I just hope he makes things right this time. Wardley could be taking it easy and just score more points going into the championship rounds. That's one of the possible scenarios, or it will be the continuation of the first fight, but usually, when the fight ends in a knockout or stoppage, the one who loses the fight will fight differently. This is based on my analysis of a situation like this. Since Wardley lost the fight via stoppage, I expect him to fight intelligently and not aggressively.

There's a saying that style makes a fight, since both fighters love to go forward and slug it out, one of them will go down, and either of them can deliver one big punch that can end it all. I'm sure Wardley has watched and pointed out all his mistakes in the first fight, and he also watched Dubois previous losses, and he will fight intelligently here. He will fight aggressively but intelligently. I don't see Wardley doing a hit and run, like what you said he's built for action, and of course, you can't teach an old dog new tricks
