I have set up different workspaces for different things! For my wallet, storing crypto or making payments, I have a separate device. I don't use it regularly but only when I need to. There is also a device for daily use. And then there is this device that I use for anything, it doesn't matter if it gets infected or not, as there isn't any sensitive material there.
I also often try not to download anything unknown on my regular desktop. Suspicious looking things (for example, the JavaScript file you mentioned) goes into VirtualBox! My desktop is high config (which you probably know), so I have no problem running multiple copies of Windows and Linux on the workstation/VirtualBox. The verification is done there.
Yes, I am being extra cautions here, because in the past I had bad experience with ransomware viruses. I had to format my whole HDD (lost a lot of things there). My point is I don't use a single use, using one mean a single point of failure, which I certainly wouldn't want.
