The reason for that is very simple, it must be because OP is using a VPN, some kind of proxy browser, his network configurations, or IP geolocation errors, any of these could have caused it. I did experience this kind of error too while accessing an exchange that is blocked in my country, so I used VPN and the country I set the VPN to also failed to access the website because it's also blocked in that country, that's was how they showed me the kind of error message in OP's image.

For me, there is nothing strange about the Sportsbet.io sports gambling site. I was about saying thesame thing but a friend of mine is also experiencing same thing I'm even surprised that this is a general issue. Well even if op makes use of VPN or not the problem is still unsolved. The problem is that Philippine is not a restricted region but the network has tagged it as a restricted region. If these casinos aren't aware of this, it might cause them to lose some customers which is not good for business.

What makes this confusing is that you're not using a VPN but the description says the location is from Japan? Maybe you forgot to turn off the VPN extension in your browser? Who knows forget.

I know that Sportsbet.io changed management and decided to discontinue their operation in this forum and even added more countries to the list of their restricted territories but that does not mean that the Philippines is among the restricted countries. Just like many people rightly suggested, the problem may be coming from your end. Maybe you can try accessing the website without using VPN if that is what you are using that made your IP address appear as someone in Japan.

Yee, I am still not convinced that he does not use VPN. But two other people that come from Philippines also posted that their government banned gambling sites. I do not know which one is which, but I guess he used a VPN set to Japan. There are some VPN that is free that can be connected to Japan as I have used one before and paid VPN has Japan among their locations list. I hope Ziskinberg should be able to provide valuable information to Russlenat with what he posted.

This is due to your own mistake because maybe Sportsbet.io is accessible in the Philippines but your phone has a VPN automatically turned on where you have selected Japan. You can go and turn off your VPN or you can select any other country in your VPN except Japan where the Sportsbet.io website is allowed to enter.
Since all the countries that are not accessible in the VPN are selected, you will not be able to use the website. If you select Japan, the casino may not have allowed you to enter Japan, which is why you have become Japan even though you are sitting in the Philippines. So first remove your Japan from the VPN and make it Philippines or any other country.

Sportsbet is not a platform that support every region and we have to know this as at now, it can also be that the use of VPN is one of the major reason why he was restricted because region he claims to be from around Japan does not have the support of sportsbet to be allowed to have access to their gambling platform, therefore it is very simple, if the restriction is as a result of the VPN then you have to remove it and have a free access, except if the region is not also supported.

Here's what sportsbet.io looks like on my end(image below), it works perfectly fine for me. I'm not sure if the region, ISP or browser has anything to do with it, but I'm in the Southern part of Luzon, I'm using Globe Home Fibre subscription and using Google Chrome.

This is the second time this week I've seen someone having issues accessing a casino/sportsbook from our country(I'm assuming you are a Filipino too), while I can access the casino/sportsbook just fine.

Hello, taga-Pilipinas ako , I checked and found that sportsbet.io is running very smoothly for me. And their General T&C explicitly prohibit playing from Japan. And as far as I know, HTTP 451 is not any simple website down error. It is used to indicate legal or geo restriction. And gambling sites also show 451 for GeoIP-based blocking.

So I think it's better to check GeoIP result of your IP first. Especially because IP database sometime shows wrong country due to mobile ISP or CGNAT or VPN/proxy or routing. Also, there may be a geolocation & configuration issue on Sportsbet's side.

It could be a network issue on the path of the network provider. Or like BABY SHOES has said, it could be a regional licensing issues as the possibility of sport bets license not operational in the Philippines. Which made the website not accessible in Philippines. There is also a possibility that OPs VPN is on while accessing the website and that made it difficult to access.

One thing that I was thinking here is that OP might have constantly be using VPN choosing Japan as his location and maybe his IP has already been recorded on his account profile and the possible changes triggered such response from the website/ server.

This is just location issue based. The best approach is to contact them. There must be an email something to contact them. Just staying idle is not a good move. Yes using VPN is not the answer and staying idle is still not an answer. Best is to reach out to them to explain what really went wrong.

Indeed this may happen if there is a slight error but if in the end the data provided because the detected IP is Japan this should not worry you because your country can still open the site when the repair occurs.
Because what is prohibited here is quite specific, namely Japan not the Philippines so that later it is possible when your IP can be changed back to the Philippines, you can still open this site.

My country is not allowed either yet I have used VPN, more explicitely Rise Up VPN in Linux and always with the same IP and country namely France in this VPN. I have placed bets, withdrawn many times, played slot machines some years ago when they had many slots and nothing happened, they immediately released withdraws when I asked for it. If he was using any VPN he would have mentioned so. I saw some people here, they can access site normally from Philippines, while OP is seeing 451-type restriction from same country. That actually makes an ISP or IP-geolocation problem worth investigating.

He should first compare his GeoIP result of public IP with some independent service. After that, he could turn off VPN & browser extension completely and test again. Or he can check with other ISP or his mobile data. If only one ISP or IP range show Japan then I think there is high possibility of casino side GeoIP database & ISP routing issue in this case.

Hello kabayan, maybe it's your ISP. I'm using a Starlink wifi and it's accessible on my end and there's no more issues. What's your ISP? There are lot of troubleshooting guides in the web or ask an AI to help you but what I want to suggest first is using another ISP to access it.

Good to know, I am not nor have I been a regular Sportsbet user so I have not checked out there policies regarding VPN. I think users might wanna see where exactly in the ToS it says VPN usage is allowed vs taking your word for it, just in case you're mistaken. I know you said it was confirmed to you by customer care but customer support can be idiots at times, better to see where it is written.
