Yes, week 1 has no bet requirement for BitcoinTalk members. Since scores reset after each week, you can join at any point throughout the season. Since a single bet qualifies you for the entire season, it is ideal to place it sooner than later, so you can play each week.
If you want to enter week 2, we recommend placing your qualifying bet before the match on Thursday, 17 Sep, but technically picks are due that Sunday.
