MONEU is a SHA-256 proof of work chain with its own CPU miner inside so there is no separate mining software and no pool needed.
Moneu runs on Ubuntu 22.04 or on any other Linux.
Dependencies.

sudo apt-get install -y build-essential cmake libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-thread-dev libboost-program-options-dev libssl-dev libleveldb-dev nlohmann-json3-dev

How to build this:

git clone https://github.com/natusor/MONEU.git

cd MONEU
cmake -S . -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release
cmake --build build -j$(nproc)
./build/src/moneu-test-noise

Sample  for node config file :
Mkdir ~/.moneu
Cd ~/.moneu

nano moneu.conf
Inside moneu.conf jist change your node passwd inside.
Sample config file :

rpcuser=moneu

rpcpassword=PUT-A-LONG-RANDOM-STRING-HERE

rpcbind=127.0.0.1

rpcport=8328

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

port=8327

listen=true

dbcache=450

txindex=true

loglevel=info

logtofile=true

maxlogsize=10

Start the node and wait for full sync which takes about ten minutes:
Then in terminal t start your Moneu node.

./build/src/moneud -daemon

./build/src/moneu-cli getblockcount

Next is how Create a wallet.
Save the 24 words it prints.

./build/src/moneu-cli createwallet "your-password"

Generate the noise file.
This wilk takes a few minutes and it will stresses Your machine to create that noise file

./build/src/moneu-cli makenoise "your-password"
I think its good to use the same password im used for the wallet
then the noise file loads automatically when wallet is unlocked.

Next You should Unlock Wallet and get an address.

./build/src/moneu-cli walletunlock "your-password"

./build/src/moneu-cli getnewaddress

And finally you can start mining coins using the command
with a selected number of CPU threads.

./build/src/moneu-cli startmining YOUR-ADDRESS 2

Check on it by using command

./build/src/moneu-cli getmininginfo

Stop mining command.

./build/src/moneu-cli stopmining

If you want to hide your address then  run the node through torsocks but Remember to Install Tor first:

sudo apt-get install -y tor torsocks

systemctl is-active tor

Uncomment AllowInbound in /etc/tor/torsocks.conf
otherwise the node will not start because torsocks blocks its own RPC socket:

sudo sed -i 's/^#AllowInbound 1/AllowInbound 1/' /etc/tor/torsocks.conf

Set listen=false in ~/.moneu/moneu.conf.
A node behind Tor cannot accept incoming connections anyway
and leaving listen=true only wastes time.

Then start it like this:

torsocks ./build/src/moneud -daemon

Important is to
Back up the whole ~/.moneu/wallet directory including noise.dat.
Losing that file means for You osing access to the coins even
if you still have the 24 words . There Is You noise file on this directory.

If it’s not Bitcoin, it would be better to move the topic to Mining (Altcoins).
This board is for discussing Bitcoin mining only. Even if a coin shares the same algorithms as Bitcoin, it is still a different coin.

Since this is a new coin, I will include the standard warnings.
Major warning when mining new coins!

Yes- Maybe this post should be moved to the "mining altcoins" section. And  yes
The admin has every right to move this to the altcoin mining section its ok.
I’d like to ask here and now The moderator to move this to the altcoin mining section.
I didn't realize such a section existed.
This one section was the most visible and had "mining" in its name
This is why I posted here. Sorry for that.

but

This isn't a memecoin or a hard fork.
In terms of its lightweight nature the blockchain Moneu is similar to Bitcoin V1 as well claiming that every new blockchain is a scam is a form of completely authoritarian subconscious programming.

I don't think he labelled you, Blockchain, as a scam. He just shared a thread warning users about mining new coins, which is a good practice since there are rampant attempts to spread malware lately.

Don't worry too much about this. A standard warning doesn't mean the project is a scam, it will be verified over time if you maintain activity.

There have been many similar hard forks, but only a few of the resulting coins have survived, and there is greater distrust toward such projects.
What is the point of this hard fork?

Ok but take look on code .
It is not a hard fork. The developer already said in the announcement he or she write that it was written from scratch
and the genesis block was mined in August 2026  so it does not share even a single block history with Bitcoin.

I looked at the Moneu source before I ran it and I mine some coins it works but the block structure itself is not a bitcoin structure.
It is just as Natusor described it to me Hes contact e-mail is in white papier.
Bitcoin's header is 80 bytes and has previous hash merkle root  and a 32 bit timestamp bits and nonce.
This Moneu is 120 bytes because it carries a ,,leaf,, root commitment the height  lets sey as is explicit field but not stuffed into coinbase and there is 64 bit timestamp  not a 32 bit timstamp.
Then hash it is a single SHA-256 Not  double sha256 .
Signatures are Ed25519 instead of secp256k1 and 6 megabyte blocks size.

Then wallet in Moneu/Each wallet makes a 32 MiB entropy file on desktop PCbox or smartfone etc .. and chain only keeps a merkle root of it, and as well the every imput by using Moneu you spend burns one leaf from that entropy/noise file.
So if someone gets your key but he do not have this file then he cannot move coins from your wallet.
I have not seen that any other blockchain.
Also it is in SLIP-0044 as coin type number is 8328  i check that and it is there but check by your self.
O come on lads You cannot get a 120 byte header with a leaf root in it by forking Bitcoin to have that you have to write it.

You are right in that so all new blockchain has low a chance of surviving but this one looks good.
Bitcoin Cash is the most well known Bitcoin hard fork but look at those Moneu parameters they are completely different
Besides what other blockchain uses the laws of physics/entropy file ?

Hello

Good to see a thread about MONEU here.

If anybody here is mining MONEU then I am asking you to create a new moneu address and post it here.
That address will be used for a transaction test on the live network.

Please unlock your wallet and create one more address.

./build/src/moneu-cli walletunlock "your-password"
./build/src/moneu-cli getnewaddress

And I will send 5 MONEU coins to it. The coins are yours to keep.
The transaction will also carry a simple message.
Anyone paying attention will find that message on the blockchain.

There are so many coins out there right now-more than there are miners. I’ve looked at so many projects that it’s becoming difficult to analyze them, many seem alike, with very few distinguishing features.

I’ll keep an eye on how this project develops, but for now, I’m not ready to mine coins that aren’t traded on an exchange.
