If I get you correctly, you mean your family don't allow you guys to make decisions for yourself, even when you have turned adult? A lot of things which happen in some families I really can't relate to. Investing is not just about risk, we have calculative risks and the ones which are not worth it. We just can't wake up and jump into buying any coin that comes our way and regard it as taking a risk when we are just literally throwing away money. I like to take risk when I see that it's worth it.
Many families have their weird things they do and when you ask them they can say it's because they're trying to protect their family way of living. I know of someone that his father and mother is still involved in his life and this is a married man with children yet he still has to pass some decisions he wants to take through his parent first and this is because of their family wealth. Other family can ask you to sign a prenuptial agreement to protect the family money before marriage. Secure money can make you real money too because it's not every time that you'll need to risk your money on investing, you'll still need money for other things to help the money you invested to be protected and not pulled out because you're lacking money. What matters is if you're capable of knowing how to manage your money and invest when it's needed while you keep the reminding money safe from risky investment that can make you to lose everything if something was to go wrong with the investment.
