money only buys flexibility and that flexibility can sometimes allow someone to make easier decisions.

Money does not just give u a power to buy something but it also give u a choice a person who has more money he also have more choices as compared to someone who has less money and because of that a person make a good decision what i noticed as well is financial flexibility is a whole game of expenses and to generate more income because i see a lot of people they earning less but with less and manageable expenses they have more money and some people they earning more but also stuck in debts.

The financial status of people affects almost every decision they make. Those with enough financial backing would always consider several factors before choosing a profession. They consider the pay, risk, location, schedule, etc. before making decisions. They can even afford to pay for training that will help them secure their dream job. Meanwhile, those who need immediate jobs to survive don't care about these factors because they desperately need money.

Poor people cannot take risks because of fear of losing their immediate source of income. They are exploited in their workplace and would have to endure it. A typical example is how immigrants are treated in their host countries. They have few opportunities because of poverty. There is a place in the Bible that says money is a defense and I think its true.
People get freedom by having financial security and they are capable of making their own decisions freely by having more choices. If a person has financially stronger background, he can reject job if he does not like it and wait until he gets the job he wanted where as a person who does not have strong financial background and lives from pay check to pay check has to accept the first job offer that he gets, whether he likes it or not, because he has to meet his daily needs , he has fewer choices. But I don't think that being poor means that person does not have ability to change his situation. He can get education learn new skills to create different income sources for himself that can make him financially stable as money acts as form of protection.

Yes, that's a reality many people aren't aware of. When cash is tight, people often have to pay the highest price for everything; it's much more expensive to purchase small quantities compared to bulk; and the interest rates on loans during a crisis are brutal. But poverty isn't just about the lack of money; it's also about having to deal with that additional 'tax' everywhere, simply because you don't have other options.

Same goes for jobs. If a person has some savings, he or she can reject a job with low pay until a better one is available, but if a person has none, he or she must take whatever job is available just to earn some income. Eventually, it is difficult to level up since you are forced to make hasty choices for whatever you can find.

IMO, flexibility is a highly underrated quality, and it is itself a form of wealth. The rich appear to be cool when they have to make decisions because they have a safety buffer if they make a bad choice. Those who just make ends meet can be dealt a severe blow by a single wrong step and must continue to play it safe. In short, money is not only for purchases, it's for time and options and those are what really make the difference in the long run decisions an individual makes.
The idea has been around for awhile. Since at least Weber's Protestant ethic stuff honestly (If I am correct). That financial outcomes reflect moral ones. The poor is pointed out something to you about the person. It is now called "financial literacy". Or mindset. Or a growth mentality. Same idea though. But all of that is not to take into account that the brain subjected to a persistent financial crisis is a distinct operating system. In fact, that is what Mullainathan and Shafir studied: the scarcity mindset concept.

These are seldom bad choices. They are correct decisions given the actual constraints. Taking any job that comes along when rent is due on Thursday is not a bad idea. It is "optimal" for the particular resource situation you are in.

The reservation wage point you made is the mechanism. Turn down the low bid. This is what is called bargaining power in action. If you do not have savings, bargaining power is theoretical and will not exist anywhere else.

If we actually want to talk about what money does to our life, they are very numerous. We are individual differences and our decisions or financial plans would never be the same, money give us confidence and pave ways for an opportunity, money actually makes life easier for us, but it's not all about the money though but it all depends on how we handle the money. The only thing I like is, when money comes your way and you don't control it carefully, the money will definitely controls you. What am saying in essence is that, there are those that are earning higher money income and don't have proper financial planning may end up struggling. In my own opinion, one don't have to look more rich, but no matter how any financial situation comes, money gives you the confidence to manage and make a good decisions.

This is where I find the idea interesting. We often tell people to make better financial decisions but how much of that decision making actually depends on having financial freedom in the first place?
Does having money give people an advantage beyond the money itself because they have more options available for them?
And if that is true, could one of the hidden cost of being poor be that you have fewer opportunities to choose the easier option?

I’m curious how other see this. Is financial flexibility itself a form of wealth?

Is this question even necessary? Isn't it obvious? Money gives you several options you can choose from, it just doesn't buy things and that's what make life easier for people that can afford it. Poor people have difficulty making decisions because they have to think it through in order to avoid making mistakes because that mistake might cost them another expenses to fix.

Money help you make decisions quickly because even if you make the wrong decision, you can afford to correct it easily. Wealth is not just about the money you have, it's also about how flexible making decisions can be for you. Poverty puts you in a tight place always when it comes to making choice.

If you have ever been in a situation where you were truly short on cash, you have likely experienced this. You may have no choice but to allocate that money with extreme frugality and caution. Everything has to be kept under control or else you might not be able to afford a meal the next day. Being poor, having very little money or none at all, leaves you with very small options or even only an option.

It is a different story when you have more money. You have several choices. You might face a setback in one area. Yet still have funds for the days ahead. You can choose from a wider range of options regarding goods, education, healthcare, and so much more. Having money is a privilege. The more you have, the better.

But, that does not mean money management becomes unnecessary once you are wealthy. No, it remains essential. You must be responsible with money management to keep everything under control.

A lot. You must always think about where you will spend your money and also the cost. Not all quality items are expensive. Some of them are cheap and it's because of many different reasons. Business closing, start-up company, etc.

Does having money give people an advantage beyond the money itself because they have more options available for them?
Yes. Imagine living a life today without money, or just lacking money. It's difficult, and it causes stress. Stress means health problems. Health problems mean spending money again. When you have financial advantage, you can live a better life, and your options for food to keep yourself healthy are wider.

And if that is true, could one of the hidden cost of being poor be that you have fewer opportunities to choose the easier option?

I’m curious how other see this. Is financial flexibility itself a form of wealth?
Well, most of the reasons people are still poor are the lack of opportunities, especially in third-world countries where most jobs are factory jobs and in the production area. Even if you are a graduate of a bachelor's course, you might still end up having a minimum wage because of a lack of opportunities and support from the government.

Financial flexibility is truly a form of wealth. In today's bad economy, most healthy foods are expensive, and people who live an average life will choose the cheaper unhealthy products because that's all they can afford and still have a meal the next day.
