Maybe it will turn into a new trend? Hackers used to break into exchanges and large projects, now within short period of time 2 casinos were hacked. Are casinos new victims? Recent cases are reminder and call for action for other casinos to take a close look on their security, run briefing for its employees and update their security. After casinos, who are going to be next to be hacked?
Most of these hacks are insider work, the hackers are somehow related to these platforms either directly or indirectly, because how can someone outside come to have access to an account if a platform that claim to have good security system to protect their money, and they have been online for years without such case regularly, there used to be an insider information leak before scammers can have access to the platform and get it hacked. Duelbit had resumed their activities, they add some money back after the hack, and they have gone offline for some hours and are now back online, deposits and withdrawals is now open for their players. I don’t know for Bitstar, maybe they are shutting down because they don’t look like they are ready to rectify the issue any moment soon.

Times change, and so do the security measures we need to put in place. We are now in an era where specially programmed AI agents scour the internet in search of errors, oversights and bugs in order to launch attacks and siphon off funds; it goes without saying that these websites have underestimated the problem and have found their funds drained off.

Bitsler casino is going to close their operations. But Duelbits has not given any official update that they will close their operations. It is true that a huge fund was hacked from Duelbits but they are still strong enough and able to continue business. I am not giving any guarantee about them but they are strong enough You should remove Duelbits from your list. There are many sites coming to this forum all the time because this forum has become a good place for casino promotion. Many more sites will come in the future but not all sites will survive forever. Some platforms will survive for a long time while some platforms will lose their ability to continue their business after a few months or years. So use casino platforms for fun and avoid holding any kind of funds there.

I don't think that they have underestimated anything. But they have probably made everything they can to secure it but they lack of it. Being in the casino business means a lot for their security but it seems to be everything isn't enough. It's going to be a battle for them now on how to secure more of their funds and to avoid this from happening again.

Casinos are suppose to learn to update their security measures, they shouldn’t just depend on the old security measures which they put in place, people are going on research on a daily basis on how they going to bypass security measures which all this casino has put in place before. They need to look for ways to update the security of their sites, because if they don’t do that, then they going to be hacked repeatedly, and more casinos are going to be hacked. Don’t be surprise that you going to see all those top hackers targeting casinos frequently. Duelbits was hacked around 2024, and they lost some huge amount of money, it’s surprising to hear that they are being hacked again. Seriously they just have to work on their security measures to avoid things like this happening in the future again.

It's possible that some gambling platforms underestimated the issue, but there are also instances where people are unaware of how AI is currently being used because some AI creators mislead the public. As an illustration, consider the Claude AI's recent confirmation a few days ago regarding a code model that can be used to unleash a unique AI operating model that I think the hackers are currently utilizing.

Closing a casino and winding down while allowing users to withdraw is reasonable and an acceptable practice. However what I don't understand is what happens to those that miss such a short deadline.
I understand competition is fierce but come on, have someone to authorise withdrawals for a couple of months at least. Shouldn't be that hard. I bet there's hundreds of people with left balances there.
They might be trying to swindle these. Who knows. Hopefully not though. I'd hate to see a thread about it.
It would probably depend on the account and where those gamblers are from. Like some old accounts might be done without KYC, and those might end up treated as abandoned /unclaimed property. And different places have different laws for those. In here, they would just appoint a guardian to oversee those funds. And those can keep them safe a REALLY long time. In one case that i know in here, there was this nearly 100 years old property that suddenly found their legal owner. And financial institutions like casinos need to keep records for years, and those exist in the hands of regulators probably way longer after casino gets closed. So i am pretty sure that funds will be safe after the deadline, especially if someone has KYCed themselves, so ownership is easy to prove.

It is pretty typical to see operations with small reserves close down in bear markets. Hacks also seem more common during these periods due to coverups or desperation from the business and potential hackers. I suspect if we see a downturn in the market to retest the lows, we will see a lot more operations close their doors. Be safe out there.
Hackers are really going to send some businesses bankrupt, especially those that are not big enough and can't handle loss and come back like duelbit and as for Bitsler, it seems to be more of a regulatory issue or whatever that leads to their closure or not being able to meet up with competition, Sad to see these established sites go down, but good that Bitsler at least gave people time to pull their funds. Hope the Duelbits hackers are tracked down soon.
If funds are there, allowing users to withdraw is the right thing to do, unless they want to scam users, or it's a case of hacks which empties their reserve if not, the authorities are going to legally fight those behind the company.

Well, based on your opinion, you can put any casino under suspicion of being unreliable, since In this day and age, hackers are capable of breaching almost anything. Which is more worth trusting? An old casino that went through "weathered the storm", but recovered after the theft, than some new casino that does not have a good reputation? I expect Duelbits to implement more robust security protocols following this incident. Losing millions and rebuilding your business is worthy of respect, as not everyone will find the strength to do it.
There could actually be some truth in what you said, but we also need to understand that an old casino simply surviving a hack doesn’t automatically make it safer and more reliable, just as being a new casino doesn’t automatically make one unsafe. I think the most important thing here is what the casino has actually managed to learn from the incident and whether the lessons they’ve actually learned is enough for them to take notable steps towards a measurable security improvement so as to offer their users some level of confidence that such unprecedented breach would not happen again, because if a platform’s security system is always being compromised by hackers, it’ll only be a matter of time before they go bankrupt because they can’t keep taking responsibility for those losses forever, and this can actually make people lose confidence in that platform. Recovery is one thing, but how they try to prevent such problem from happening again is what most users often tend to watch closely.

In the case of the hackers who stole those seven million dollars from Duelbits, the problem is not being able to track them down or not. If they are from Russia or North Korea then it becomes almost impossible to hold them into account. North Korea uses hacks like that one to fund their government and also their nuclear program, while Russian government does not care about hackers who attack western or foreign businesses. It is just worth it to track them down and try to punish them if they are from a country which would be willing to cooperate with their arrest. Thankfully, a 7 million hit was not enough to take down Duelbits and they will continue to offer their services to their gamblers.

Of course such amount can’t bring such a big casino down because imagine someone wining such amount already if they allow high stakes gambling and I believe they definitely do, so in terms of closing down 7 million dollars won’t make a significant difference of seven people winning 1 million dollar each. Closing a casino and winding down while allowing users to withdraw is reasonable and an acceptable practice. However what I don't understand is what happens to those that miss such a short deadline.
At that point the casino can’t help you because they already said everyone should empty their holdings there so they have legal protections against anything outside the date given. It’s now on the user to do the needful.

A lot of people also had this same train of thought. Some of them said that the sites were a bit too tight with their bug bounty rewards, and that got them a little people to actually look at the security of their site. Some said that if they were a bit more generous, then the chance of those bugs or vulnerabilities being reported would be high, and they would have fixed them. And then again, if these hacks were orchestrated by an insider, then it would have been more difficult to avert them.

Sad news indeed. Bitsler is one of those reputable long-running crypto casinos in the gambling market so hearing it closing make us a little bit sad because this casino will no longer be seen in the market operating. Although there is no certain reason behind this closure but I guess it has something to do with the new Curacao gambling regulations.
On the other hand, Duelbits is suspending its operation due to the current major thefts. Hopefully they will create a good investigation and find out a reliable solution so that Duelbits may proceed with its gambling operation soon.
It's so sad to see a casino that has been in the forum for a long time shutting down all operations and gamblers will never use their services again. As for Duelbits, it seems they have concluded their investigation because they have rebuild their platform and they are live with gambling operations, and the team will soon launch Duelbits 2.0. So if you like using Duelbits to place your bets, Duelbits is ready for you to use, and they will serve you better this time around.

So much hack case this year and the stolen funds is usually big, It keeps me wondering why the success rate of this scammers keep increasing. Anytime this issues comes up, I always hope that the scammers can be apprehended and made to face the consequences of their terrible actions, although one thing is certain, they can not hide for ever, definitely there luck will over one day and they will be caught and will suffer for their acts. I just hope this doesn't cause the casino to go down or even affect customers payout.
The number of hackings has been increasing recently. We heard about the Bitget exchange hacking a few days ago and recently we are also getting news of the Duelbits casino platform hacking. If this fraudster gang is not caught, they will continue to hack many other platforms including other top exchange platforms and casino platforms. If the hackers are arrested and given proper punishment and the trend of this fraudster gang can be broken, then the hacking plans will reduce a lot.

There will be some that might haven't seen the news, maybe those users who are not part of the forum.
I've seen some closures in the past and it took the closure a while for everyone to withdraw their funds but, some users missed the announcement despite that the window for withdrawal is long.
The announcement isn't only here on the forum, their own site itself shows they are no longer accepting bets, the only way you miss that kind of information is if you don't ever visit the casino until the deadline is up, after all they are still making provision for people to still be able to get their money till October 31, it means more effort on the side of the person but it's still far better then the site just closing out of nowhere and all of the money people have there gone with them, if that had been the case people would have started calling them scammers completely ignoring/forgetting all their years or efficient service. Yes, those are the people that I am talking about. Those who are busy in real life and didn't have time to check the website and their emails. I've seen in the past that there were those users who really have missed the announcement and have left their accounts with some balance. And it was too late for them to withdraw because the site was no longer accessible. I'm expecting something like that will happen in them. Funny enough these set of user's who're to miss this opportunity to withdraw their money from the tampered platform will still claim they don't bet regularly and for that doesn't visit the site that often. If the deadlines set for this withdrawal is still around 31 October, meaning we're looking at more than a month from now but I'm wondering how it could be that those who'll be left behind before the closure would say they couldn't meet up because they haven't visited the site for the while. Is it possible that even as irregular gambler you can stay over a month with gambling? Just thinking where the excuse will come from but I thank God for the email alerts. So they can get the update off the site if so.

Duelbits will likely continue to operate, but Bitsler is no longer in business. They deserve credit for operating smoothly for so long. But this is the reality, firstly, of the crypto bear market and secondly, of the sharply reduced cost of artificial intelligence tools used to hack platforms of all kinds—from DeFi protocols to casinos and sports betting sites. This is the reality today: hackers armed with artificial intelligence are hacking any platform that doesn't pay sufficient attention to security.

Oh, that's really bad news.... I heard the news about the Duelbits hack involving around $7 million..... But I’ve only just heard that Bitsler is shutting down on September 30th....
But the good news is that Duelbits has announced it will fully compensate those affected.

I have heard of bitsler but never really tried it. Bitsler shutting down might sound bad to their regular users but the good thing is they allowed their users to take their funds out. That's a farewell. Not sure what was the actual reason behind them shutting down but everything has an end and it's good that they are ending it at a good note. As for Duelbits, they have consumed the losses and ensured their users get their funds back. They are already up and running again, so that's a good news.

I have heard of bitsler but never really tried it. They were established in 2015, so they are even older than some other popular casinos here like Stake. Those who were here early would recognize Bitsler and I'm one of the players who enjoyed seeing their changes and how they adapted to the competition, but it's sad that they had to stop for whatever reason. Bitsler shutting down might sound bad to their regular users but the good thing is they allowed their users to take their funds out.
For them to be able to run for many years, it's expected that they will have an honest exit, and I think they are regulated so they cannot just mess up their clients and risk facing a lawsuit. I don't think they would let that happen.
