LTC is still a great option for fast transactions with low fees. But as an investment with solid upside? That's nowhere near enough. Low fees, fast txns, a loyal community, don't automatically mean a coin has much room to grow. And the market's not exactly short on coins that can do the same thing.
To put it bluntly, LTC is looking pretty outdated compared to the rest of the market. Utility, community, development, scalability...it's behind in pretty much every area. Honestly, it may stick around, but I don't see it as a very promising investment.
Only great thing in it that i see is the idea it represents. And that is times when people weren't doing hidden premines and when they weren't run by profit seeking companies with leading figures. When coins had fair launches and everyone could have participated at the same time. When everything was community driven and transparent, while in most cases pseudonymous.
When it comes to fast and cheap transaction times, it doesn't get even close to cheapest and fastest networks.
As an investment, it's mostly just something one could hold as a principle, but that goes with every fair launch coin out there. Most of them aren't going anywhere in charts though.
