Crypto gambling has spent years trying to answer one question:
What is a casino token actually supposed to do?
Early GambleFi relied heavily on token mining, staking and airdrops. Users played, received tokens and, in many cases, sold them.
The more interesting models in 2026 work differently. Instead of funding rewards primarily through new emissions, they connect token economics to actual gambling activity – through buybacks, burns or revenue-funded rewards.
What are they supposed to do? You explained different models... How they work and the economics behind them. You covered a lot of things, but the answer is still missing. I can add another important question: Is it for player benefit, or just another way for the casino to make a profit?
Maybe the answer is both? Let's be real, the math behind them is designed to benefit the house. To make them additional profit & to keep players engaged... It's business, it's what they do with all other features & options. On the other side, I'm one of the players who likes casino tokens... It's additional fun! Especially in the begenning when everything was new & unique. I don't expect miracles from casino tokens the same way I don't expect much when I buy a super bonus on some random slot... If it's interesting (in terms of fun & value), it will keep me on the site.
