Saying they chooses secondhand which is an already (fairly) used cars products is a controversy to the truth.
People don't really prefer to buy brands that has lost its certain quality from the factory, cars are regarded very essential for transportation and easy movements.

We can also see how the world economy keep growing making costs of goods and services very much expensive and with how the fiats at its own is quite loosing values due to the rise of inflations too.
So everyone are just cutting their suits according to their sizes and you know, there are more of less privilege and average people in the world.

So looking at the whole scenarios, brand new cars (products) is very much expensive than the second hand used.
It has also seem that you must have a very big budget before you can afford to buy a brand new cars which the second hands used does not still look affordable for every average, only that it is cheaper.
So the price range actually cause why the second hand is being bought more than the new brands.

There are multiple reasons for this and people's intentions are also involved. However, you can blame financial capacity as the main reason for this. Secondhand products are a good option to fulfill your hobbies at a low price. Since the price of new products is high, many people use secondhand products at a low price, and you should not have the wrong idea that secondhand products mean old products.

Sometimes, due to limited supply of products, the secondhand market for that product becomes popular. There are even some limited products that are more expensive than new.
Many people also buy secondhand products for short-term use and sell the product when the need is over. There may be some other reasons that make the secondhand product market popular.

Out of all the things, a car is probably the best thing to buy from a second hand market because of the taxes that are to be paid for a new car.
Especially here in India, the taxes on a new car is absurd and so buying a second hand car is an ideal choice for many people.
Besides that, newbies who are still learning to driver properly often prefer second hand cars, so that adds to the number as well.
Overall, I think yeah, on certain items buying second hand product is still a worthy and considerable decision.

It may be that many people are very fond of buying a car but they do not have enough money to buy a new car and in this case they buy a second hand car to fulfill all their needs because they can afford to buy it. Again, someone buys a second hand car as their first car so that they can practice their driving with it first and learn to drive well. And also, people buy second hand products for different reasons, not only cars, smartphones, laptops, computers, such devices are bought and sold second hand in large quantities. And the biggest reason behind this is the financial issue. New products are quite expensive due to which not everyone can afford it.

There are many basic reasons behind it. First, it depends on the market, because only a few countries in the world prefer to purchase new vehicles, like Arab, European and American countries, and most other countries purchase used ones due to a shortage of money.

There is no way second-hand products are stronger and more durable than brand new ones. Products have a year warranty for a reason. People purchase secondhand products for the price not durability. Are you saying that brand new cars aren't strong and durable than these second hand cars, I don't think so. It's not everyone that can afford to buy a brand new car because it's very expensive. The bottom line is that lack of sufficient funds has made most people settled down for second hand cars. I prefer a brand new car if I can afford it because it's going to last longer than the second hand one.

I also have the same view as you that if you want to choose anything be it clothes shoes electronics or even a car you should choose a new one.I also believe that if you do not know about second hand things they will break down less and if you fix them they will not be the same as before. Second hand things are chosen over more expensive things such as cars etc.If the car is in good condition and all its parts engine etc. are in good condition then choosing a second hand car is not wrong considering the money.All these things are within your pocket which will give you the courage to win. You can buy such an expensive and new car but you should prefer a new car over a second hand one which is also expected to last longer.

If you have closely observed, modern mass-produced items have a limited life span when compared to older ones. Producers do that to encourage fast replacement. I don't know if you have ever used any vintage goods; they are stronger than new ones. In my post, I said products from good manufacturers. I might prefer to buy a second-hand Mercedes-Benz rather than to buy a Changan or any other Chinese car brand.

The advantage of new products is that they have modern technology and are more hygienic and safer. I would definitely buy new items if I can afford them. But I would prefer to buy a second-hand product from a quality seller rather than a new but not durable one.

I believe that some people like purchasing used items is a means of saving money and still use the remaining balance to obtaining additional items they also need. It is not a compulsory thing to have something new, when there is a very good chance that the used one can still serve the same purpose.

For instance a person who purchases a used vehicle that is in good shape, may still use the cash they save for other significant matters instead using the whole savings just to buy a new vehicle.  In my opinion it's about knowing what you need and whether or not it is worth the price to buy something new.

A fairly used product doesn't mean it is bad or had a fault.

It might be that the previous owner no longer had use of it anymore or wanted to make an upgrade and had to do away with the old product.

It is more conservative to take out the old product, sell them and use that money to purchase an updated one.

Even if you do have the money to purchase a new one without selling, you will notice that the old product do not have any use to you and may sit down their it it gets covered by alot of cobwebs.

Like they say, one man's poison is another man's food. At some point you realize that most products we use like cars are in general fairly used but wrapped again to be resolved as new.

Some don't want to pay the full price because, as a financial decision, buying a brand new vehicle is one of the worst decision, the value of the product depreciates like 40% in just a year. So they are okay with compromising on some factors and paying half the price.

There can be other reasons but mostly the price and affordability made the second-hand market to exists.

The idea of value depreciation is a perfect one but should not be considered the top but affordability and financial constraints should be the top reasons for such decisions in most cases.
Over 60 percent of citizens in the world falls within the average rate when we talk about financial strength,  so engaging in what will consume the little available because of uncontrollable inflation is the worst mistake many try avoiding now.
With the current economic difficulties and challenges,  I think the consideration of going for a second hand vehicle is the best option instead of choosing an installment plans that keeps running till it have been covered. Many that goes for the new once especially the average citizens usually ends in applying for an installmental plans which i think is not the best option when the little we have can afford a neatly used secondhand once.

And to me I will never buy an used car because I don't want to risk it, used means something might have been broken or at the verge of becoming a major repair work and it should be fine to drive for atleast 4 years from the date I purchase and also the maintenance will be a lot less when we buy a brand new. I will take the risk of going for brand new and if things goes wrong then I just sell it to pay the remaining amount.

No, in some causes there is definitely something wrong with purchasing second hand products and there are some things I would advice people against buying a second hand, things such as cloths, under wears, bedsheets and other minor thing like cups, someone doesn't need to break the bank to be able to buy the brand new of those things. It's understandable to buy a second used vehicle or any machine because the new one can be expensive but in some cases, after using that your second hand bought product for some weeks or months, it will start developing fault. Someone I know experienced same thing, few weeks after he bought the vehicle, the glass of the door stopped winding down, just like that, other things started developing faults.

Besides the financial, some buyers of second-hand products want to buy from celebrities or famous people who own them, it's very popular here in our country, celebrities hold auctions of their clothing and people will vie to get those apparell regardless of the price.

From the old times, that is the past and to this present day, the reason that people buy secondhand products also called fairly used is because lack of finance. I have seen people who argue that fairly used are more durable but I ask them if fairly used was not once a new one and so why is it durable when it is already depreciating from what it was. I believe everyone want something good and if they have the money, they would go for the brand new that has not been used by anyone. So it is more expensive to go for something new compared to the secondhand, it is not that it is durable. It is the affordability that matters. Take for instance shoes. When you buy some leather shoe as secondhand, you can't compare the price to new one. People buy fairly used cars more and that is because of cost. If you go to countries where cars are cheap, they hardly drive secondhand cars. This is a fact as to the reason to conclude that everyone desire brand new product but it is usually out of the rich of majority.

I often go for hiking and I have seen majority of people in my country use second hand items like hiking shoes and bags. They are not only cheap but of high quality since most of them are from renowned brands. But if you are buying second hand items then you need need to carefully check the product you are buying to make sure it doesn't have any major defect.

I think main reason behind people buying secondhand vehicles is not just because they are cheaper but because they give better value for money. If you buy new vehicle it will start losing its value with the passage of time as soon as it is purchased and the person who bought it first has to bear the biggest depreciation in price. The person who buys secondhand vehicles after few years can easily avoid initial losses and also get a vehicle that can serve the same purpose.
But it is also true that always buying second hand is not smarter financial decision. A second hand vehicle also consumes more fuel and the maintenance cost is quite high so real cost comes down to the purchase price, depreciation, maintenance cost, fuel cost and insurance. Best choice is dependent on how long someone has planned to use the vehicle and how much they can afford to maintain it.

Thing is there would be no second hand products without new products, everything has to
be new at some stage.

Personally I try to buy as much second hand products as much as possible but there are
items which kind of need to be bought new as they wear out they are not fit for purpose anymore.

The reason's I do it?

There are perfectly fine items which others no longer want/fit/need. Secondhand doesnt
necessarily mean worn out.

Personally, when buying a product like this, I focus on whether it meets my needs provided that its age (whether new or used) doesn't affect its functionality. This allows me to allocate the budget I would have spent on it to something else.

It's a choose and capital, secondly is depend on the continent you are. No continent buy secondhands thing's than Africa,  reaon being that Africa are very poor,and cannot afford new cars and original clothes, we buy according to our capacity,  it's not crime to buys secondhand things, I love buying them especially phone and accessories,  I don't buy secondhand underwears it's not healthy for us, can't be using underwear some else have used. Even as we buy secondhand we should be mindful of the one we buy.  News things are good,  and is commendable if you have the capacity to buy them.

Don't look down on anyone using secondhand things, you can't tell their stories,  they have a reason why they're using it, all fingers are not  equal,  let them have the one they can afford,  because many people see those that buy secondhand things as second class citizens and in most cases embarrass them in an event.

Yes, second-hand products can be a great option if you want to save money, depending on what you're planning to buy, but we're talking about cars, and unless you can verify the use the previous owner(s) gave to the vehicle, it is some kind of lottery to me. You may have to pay the money you are saving when you buy multiplied over time in repairs for hidden defects. That's why I agree with Findingnemo and, as long as I can afford it, I'd buy a new car instead.

The only exception would be if you personally knew the previous owner and knew that he is careful, has put the car to very good use and excellent care.

When it comes to vehicles usage in my country, the vast majority of the people are using secondhand vehicles. This is because of how costly one can get to buy a new one. The taxes and all that makes car very expensive when it gets to my country. Without those huge taxes on cars, many elites would be an able to buy new cars but they also opt in for second hand cars because of how costly it is to get a new one. The reason for secondhand products over a new one is due to lack of finances to get a new one. And I think this is the same for all countries that the people opt in for second hand products more.
