Sincerely speaking I like the American budgeting system, if you check through the chat you will see that the major areas that affects the people's lives are highly budgeted for, Healthcare and Housing, healthcare is one of the most important aspects of the human life, these days we have a lot of illnesses that people barely have the financial muscle to struggle through with, so if the government helps in budgeting more on HealthCare, it will help reduce the load on the citizens, the other aspect I see here is housing which is also essential, having a roof over your head is an important aspect of the human need, so if the government are budgeting 13% of the annual budget on housing, then i think is a welcome development.

But then every economic year the government has a way of reviewing some of the loop holes they had in the previous budget, so in the new budget they are preparing, they try to correct some of the mistakes and try as much as possible to review or increase some of the percentages in other sectors of the economy.

You clearly know little about the US healthcare system and how dysfunctional it is for the average user if you think it's a good system. Sure, they have good doctors and lots of pharmaceutical companies are based there, but the insurance system is really broken. People are often slaves to their jobs in order to get access to higher levels of insurance coverage, but companies are constantly battling to reduce costs which means reduced coverage for employees. When you actually need to use it, you're also charged obscene amounts - think hundreds of dollars for a paracetamol or thousands of dollars for a blood test, these simply do not compare to the prices charged in other developed nations. This is because the insurance companies are abusive and allowed to run rampant, charging the highest amounts they possibly can attempt rather than offering reasonable prices to all. Money and profit should not be major incentives that form the backbone of the healthcare service of any country.

I am not an American citizen, but from the information I have received, healthcare costs there are very expensive, perhaps that is the reason why the United States applies low taxes in the healthcare sector so that all its citizens can afford healthcare without excessive costs, especially if they have to pay expensive taxes.

Well we can agree that when it comes down to the real importance of life your health comes paramount. You could have lots of problems like finances, relationship, transport or what ever when you just get one serious health problems that becomes your most important problem every other thing takes a sit.
Of course the health care sector is very important but i want you to understand that its not out of consideration that the government taxes the healthcare less but that's the most convincing area where less tac can convince the people that the government is working for them. if you dig deep in this sectors you will find out that's where the rich launders the most money by doing charity to write off there tax and this is just an escape root for the elite only. I may not make a lot of since in this but there is more you will find out in subsequent time if you keep an eye on this.

For what i know, if this statistics be true then it is very ideal. This is because, if you are you carry out a statistical analysis of need, the health care sector will also rank the highest. The health care sector is a very critical sector where if any little things goes wrong, masses are likely to journey to the great beyond.
From resources needed to salaries, etc.

In other sectors, there are things that could be negotiable in other words settling for a lower grade, but this doesn’t work in the healthcare. In some nations the healthcare sector are not prioritized, they are always resourcefully unavailable, posing risks to the life of the citizens.
I must say it’s actually impressive.

I believe one key difference here is that there's spending on healthcare and preferences for it as a tax. Many federal programs, like Medicare and Medicaid, spend a significant portion of the federal budget. And tax preferences may provide a tax advantage to employer provided health coverage. These policies were created for various reasons and when they are merged together. It can get confusing. The larger issue to consider is whether such investments lead to better access to affordable treatment and health outcomes. The problem is not that spending more is an issue. But rather the value that is obtained for that money.

2. To also encourage people to obtain health insurance.
Well, partly, you're right. But the exclusion does incentivize employers to provide insurance coverage, because the premiums they pay are not counted as income. That rule accounts for the majority of that chart's ~$500B, and it's in fact a subsidy to premiums and not a tax cut on healthcare per se.

It also has a higher value in dollars to people with higher incomes (higher tax bracket) and some economists claim it is an incentive for over-insurance. It's still up for debate, though, because some say it's just a greater proportion of low-wage workers' earnings.

So I think the United States government takes lesser taxes on healthcare sector so that hospitals in the United States won't be selling medicines and give treatment at a high price in order to recoup some of the money they used in paying tax.
Good point, but slightly off-topic, the chart is not really about taxes that hospitals pay. The vast majority of this is due to a single rule: premiums paid by employers for their employees are not counted as income.

I guess if I'm understanding it correctly, it works more in the demand realm. Many economists argue that it will lead to overinsurance and that real prices will be less transparent for patients, thereby not clearly putting down hospital prices. I don't think this is a tax issue explanation of pricing as much as anything else, but if I missed something I would love to be corrected.

They say health is wealth, and that's a fact for Americans. Americans will spend heavily on healthcare because they have high numbers of cancer patients, tumors, and organ transplants.

The United States wealthy citizens are funding the healthcare sector via private funding for research institutes. Both voluntary and non-voluntary health organizations are valued in millions of dollars, if not billions. Mostly, the highest-valued sector in a country is where the government used to steal from the people.

There are some things the government usually make cheap or available for the citizens and one of the ways they make those things available or cheaper for there citizens is by putting subsidy on that thing, reducing the tax that they pay or bringing any system that can help them achieve their goal.

Every responsible government knows that not everyone is rich or capable of affording expensive things, so they try as much as possible to make things very cheap for everyone and to make that possible they usually initiate a system that will make things more cheap for the citizens both poor or rich.

Healthcare is one of the most important thing that the government usually look into because health is everything.
The country needs people to be called a country and people can only stay alive and healthy if they have access to good healthcare so that is why U.S is doing what they are doing for healthcare sectors.

I don't think that's the biggest reason, majorly alot of this top Dawgs have their investment deep down in healthcare sector and cutting it will cost them alot so they will always find a way to mitigate that change, plus I don't see that as a bad thing because it invariably helps the citizens so it's a win win.

Alot of this healthcare budget is being channel to research and its important not just to Americans but to the World.

it’s a fair question, since healthcare has a huge impact on everyday costs. tax breaks are often meant to encourage investment and keep services running, but whether those benefits actually lower patient costs is another debate

Because they want to save people? Roll Eyes

Already, US health care is facing criticism for their expensive treatment methods which cost almost nothing in nearby countries with some compromise and also people from US are travelling to India to get their surgery done at half the price, with no delays and faster recovery, while saving a ton of money.

US government should find ways reduce the treatment cost and probably that is why they are investing more money.
In my opinion, instead of funding more treatment programs and cutting edge technology, the government should invest more in the health services that are affordable and accessible. The issue of the cost of the same procedure being extremely expensive in the United States in comparison with other countries remains difficult to explain. Many Americans even choose to have surgery in india where it is much cheaper. Health care system should be focused on healing patients and saving their lives, but not charging them with significant expenses. The development of expensive equipment, research and medical facilities is of course vital, but it doesn't account for the cost of treatment. A reduction of their amount by the government will make more people able to get needed health care.

Giving priority to the health sector is very important for every nation because it is a healthy population that can drive the economic activities of every country, so health first before every other sectors therefore I have to commend the American government for this priority. America, is great, they are world power, they have technology and their massive government allocation to the health sector is not depriving them of their greatness so I think that they should continue in this right part.

My only concern on a sector where a lot of tax payers money is pumped into is corruption, I know that a sector that gets so much fundings will have corrupt politicians and officials that will want to be cornering some or most of these funds. Aside from this concern I don't have a problem with America, heavily funding their health sector, other countries that have achieved technological and agricultural advancements should priotize their health sector like America.

Public Healthcare in America is not expensive like the private system. Its not the reason why the government spend more budget there, it's just there priority during the campaigns. This was not how the numbers were during the last few years, another person can come and say I will like to budget more money on education and if he wins, the numbers can change but I guess they wouldn't vote for anyone that does not give health sector a priority.

This is what the governments should do, there is nothing as important as health. I don't think in there is a time US has ever slumber on health budget. This is why even during the Corona virus, they were able to help many countries with health medications to cure the virus. Their government might be brutal with how they acts when angry and very helpful with health medications.

I am no expert in the field of Budgeting but I do think the disproportionate budget allocations on different sectors may have underscored their importance with respect to need of the populace. I personally think that healthcare should be the first priority of a country before security. The first  form of security is health security. And from where I stand, other forms of security may be regarded as external threat that can be combated more easily than a virus outbreak which the government hitherto have no clue about because they didn't fund a research beforehand. Research costs a lot of money, especially in health care. I am in no way justifying the budget. After all, diseases can business to some elites. So, the question is whose interest is the massive funding benefiting? The Elites? Or the Masses?

Healthcare is not a business sector which is why it receives special treatment from government. Healthcare sector directly affects the lives of people and also their financial security. There are expenses that can be avoided but like other expenses, medical treatments are not avoidable because of certain serious illnesses; normal person has to take on debt in order to pay for healthcare. That is reason most of time government comes in to support healthcare and give them benefits in form of tax. But spending more is not a guarantee that the system is doing well. If government is spending billions on healthcare but for ordinary person, medical cost is still too high, then it is the responsibility of the government to examine where their money is going. Instead of reducing tax benefits, they should work on factors that are preventing the benefits; they should focus on controlling treatment costs and they should make sure that public support is actually reaching the patients.
The healthcare sector is one of the most important sectors of any country and it is one of the essential parts but I don't think that it can be completely separated from business. Hospitals also need funding; they also need trained and well-educated doctors and skilled workers and they also require a good amount of modern equipment in order to operate. So that they can operate efficiently. The issue rises when the system is prioritize their own profit over their patients lives. It is the full responsibility of the government to support them and provide them with the necessary materials but tax benefits cannot continue blindly if they fail to help the ordinary people. Healthcare sector is quite expensive because of corruption, poor management and unnecessary spending. Instead of just increasing these funds or trying to protect the tax benefits, it is the responsibility of the government to ensure transparency without putting their patients into debt.
