Hi all,

I'm Chris, an independent developer from Germany. Running GekkoScience sticks on a Mac has usually meant building cgminer and living in Terminal, so I wrote native macOS apps for it.

BITCOIN MINER GEKKO WORKER
Free download, notarized, Apple Silicon + Intel, macOS 14+

• Runs GekkoScience Compac A1 and Compac A2 sticks through a powered USB hub. A Compac A2 is what I have tested with.
• One card per stick: hashrate, temperature, clock, core voltage, USB voltage, fan speed (when the stick reports it)
• Warn and Stop temperatures: Warn sounds an alarm and names the stick, Stop halts only that stick and the others keep mining
• Compac A2 clock from 300 to 500 MHz in 50 MHz steps, with an optional Auto clock that steps down while the stick is at Warn and back up once it has cooled
• cgminer with the Gekko driver ships inside the app, so nothing needs to be compiled or installed

BITCOIN MINER COORDINATOR
Mac App Store, macOS 14+

• Holds the Stratum V1 pool connection and hands work to the Gekko Worker, on the same Mac, on the local network, or over a private WireGuard network
• One window for all Workers: live hashrate, per-machine status, session statistics
• Menu bar icon: green while mining, orange on a warning, red when a stick is halted by heat, the pool connection is lost, or nothing is hashing
• Pool presets include Braiins Pool, OCEAN and public-pool.io; with public-pool.io it also shows your pool-side hashrate, shares, best difficulty and a daily history

WHAT I'D LIKE TO HEAR

• Results with more than one stick, and with a Compac A1
• Whether other GekkoScience devices are detected (they may work through the bridge, but I haven't tested them)
• Hubs that work well, or don't, on a Mac

No accounts and no tracking. The apps talk only to the pool you choose. Feedback and bug reports are welcome here or at info@btcminertools.com.

Well considering you'll be distributing my free opersouce GPL licensed software, you'll need a link pointing to where to get the source code.

Nice to see proper macOS support, most stick setups I know run headless Linux boxes. How does it handle USB hub power dips? In my experience the Compac sticks are picky about hubs - a marginal 5V line shows up first as share errors rather than a clean disconnect. Keen to hear results with A1 sticks since the A2 is what most people have.
