For me Crypto casino isn’t legal in every country just because they are using cryptocurrency. Every country has their own gambling laws, and casino need to follow the rules that oversee their operations. Even if casino has license in one particular country, it doesn’t mean that they operate everywhere. That’s why it’s advisable to check country’s laws before using any crypto casino.
A country that accept cryptocurrency is likely to accept crypto casino as well, this issue about not accepting crypto casino mostly happen in those countries that does not accept cryptocurrency. And in such countries the law of not betting on crypto casino can easily be maintained. but as for those countries that accept cryptocurrency even though the government made crypto casino to be illegal yet some guys will be doing it secretly and the government wouldn't find out, Especially in a country that have experienced crypto casino before maybe due to the high increase of addicted gamblers made the government to consider banning crypto casino. Won't agree with this, because cryptocurrency is far different from casino. Also it doesn't mean the country allow cryptocurrency, it also allow crypto casino activities to. Like for example in South Korea they permitted crypto trading activities, but they are heavily disallow online crypto casino. Also in Netherlands crypto trading is legal or permitted to, but they have rules not to accept crypto deposits. So with that we can say everything depends on the regulation of each government in their jurisdictions.

But my question exactly is; in this countries you listed here do they accept Fiat deposit? I mean the citizens are they allowed to bet on normal sports like football, or they restrict gambling completely? I need your answer because you know there's a difference between sport betting and casino so I'm just asking to know if the government also stop the citizens from making deposit through Fiat.

Are crypto casinos legal in every country?
The use of cryptocurrency does not automatically make an online casino legal. How do gambling laws, licensing requirements, and local restrictions affect access to crypto casinos?
Just as it's impossible for you to like all food or have it as your favorite, not all crypto casinos are legal in every country. Adopting the use of cryptocurrency as a payment method of a gambling platform doesn’t change it legal status of the gambling activity itself, nor does it make it qualify to provide gambling services in every geographical location. Some countries regulate or ban online gambling based on their local laws, regardless of whether players deposit with fiat or crypto, and most crypto casinos operate under offshore licenses (like Curaçao, Anjouan, etc.) have restricted countries.

They already have the laws but how about the enforcement? Is it effective? I guess not. Look at these countries, Thailand and Indonesia, they have clear laws against gambling, and yet illegal gambling is still high. So it's up to the government whether they can enforce those laws or not, because a law is just a piece of paper without effective enforcement.

Reading through the thread, a couple of questions came up for me. If crypto is banned in a country, how would the state even know that someone is using it? And if a VPN opens blocked sites and a crypto wallet still works, what problems could actually come up for a player in that case?
It depends on how far the government wants to go to track people. If crypto is straight-up banned in a country, the state usually just watching the gateways. Basically, the banks. The moment you try to move local currency from a bank account onto an exchange or P2P platform, alarm bells go off. Unless you are buying crypto with raw cash in a dark alley, theres almost always a paper trail connecting your real-world identity to a bank transaction... and thats how people get caught. For me, the real problem for players is the cash out, not the access. Winnings still go through a local exchange, then to the bank, and big amounts can trigger questions about where it comes from. Like here in PH, you will still convert your winnings through a local exchange, then to a bank or some e-wallet, so if a big amount suddenly comes in, they can ask where the funds are from. What will you say, from a casino that is blocked here? lol. So for me, even if you can access it, think first about how you will withdraw.

Same here in the Philippines, there were even a lot of cases with regards to gambling and our government try to stop it. But nowhere near the records that one might expect as gambling is still very much prevalent here. So even if there are laws that are mandated, if the government doesn't imposed it, their population will go on to gamble and there could be a lot of lives getting ruined as gamblers might became addicted to it. Worst there could be someone who's going to steal for the sake of continuing their gambling habits.

Crypto casino is legal in every country where gambling is legal.
I do not agree with this conclusion. Just because any country allow gambling doesn’t mean it allows every type of casino and gambling operation. There are many other thing involved, including legality of gambling, regulation concerning cryptocurrency and licensing requirement for operator. Consider a country where licensed land based casino and legally regulated sportsbook are allowed to operate. Offshore crypto casino are not necessarily covered by same authorization. Any jurisdiction has its own rule for online gambling. That cover licensing, business registration, permitted payment method and many more.

For example, in my country, only offline casinos with a national license are legal. These legal casinos are located strictly within four regional zones. Gambling is prohibited in the capital and other major cities in the central part of the country. 🙋 Online casinos with offshore licenses (Curaçao, Anjouan) are also illegal in my country. Their websites are blocked. However, there are no sanctions for gamblers who gamble. This distinguishes my country from other countries, where gamblers can even be imprisoned for gambling. Some countries only allow state-owned casinos. Some countries only allow casinos with a national license. Each country creates its own legal framework for regulating gambling. There are no international regulations in this area. Perhaps they will appear in a few years, when the world becomes globalized again. As we understand it, creating such international regulations is currently impossible. 🧑💻

The enforcement of some crypto casino restrictions depends on how the government understands how to enforce the laws and how ready they are because the reason why we're seeing what you used as case study is because of what I stated about the government stance. How ready and understanding the government is in making sure the rules are set in stone will determine how effective the restriction is. If the government fined the team behind the illegal gambling with huge funds and also penalized the internet service provider that didn't block illegal gambling services on their soil, most of what happened in Thailand and Indonesia would have stopped.

The use of cryptocurrency does not automatically make an online casino legal. How do gambling laws, licensing requirements, and local restrictions affect access to crypto casinos?
In my country gambling is illegal, whether it’s online or offline. A few powerful people operate the casino behind the bar, but they get caught after a few days. Even the government banned the casino domain here in my country. Cryptocurrency itself is illegal here, so the crypto casino is more strongly restricted. Most of the time people use a new casino website that hasn't been banned yet or use mirrors; otherwise, they have to use a VPN to access crypto here. Yet I don’t know if the government provides any licenses here, but sometimes I read news about the government punishing offline casino providers.

As we understand it, creating such international regulations is currently impossible. 🧑💻 The terrible part of my country is the one that yours allow, we have a 15k dollar fine for anyone who gambles in illegal websites. So if you go gamble at Stake, for example and my government finds out, then you are out 15k dollars and have to pay that fine. And it also grows much larger when you repeat, not with each bet, of course, but with each fine. It means, you go gamble, you get caught, you pay 15k, then you keep gambling, and get caught again, this time it's not 15k, but something like 40k, and it grows larger and larger that way, I am not sure if there is even a cap, like maybe it reaches millions? I have no idea. That is why people usually try to gamble at legal casinos; we have a lot of legal stuff online, so people just prefer those.

Yes, this involves managing many people, and it is very difficult. Some comply, while others resist. Indonesia has tried to block online gambling sites. But still, many users can still access them. It seems that users are indeed smarter than the government. Currently, there are also many cases of crime in Indonesia due to online gambling. Because they are unable to control themselves, and when they are cornered and already addicted, they will do anything to get money for gambling. There are many cases of suicide, robbery, and loss of assets due to gambling. This is because such cases frequently appear on social media.

That is to say that banning gambling in certain countries may not sit well with all citizens as some person might consider gambling as something not harmful. Therefore, you will always see people that will gamble in secret even in countries where gambling is banned. Gambling sometimes should be lenient to such people if they truly respect the rights of their citizens.

A government that prohibits gambling will not need to protect the risks taken by gamblers. They clearly prohibit it, and if someone forces themselves to do something illegal, then that is their own risk. Managing gambling for a country that has long banned gambling will not be easy. It will certainly face a lot of opposition when the government tries to manage gambling.

No, every casino have a list of countries that are prohibited for those citizens and also the make sure you read them in their terms and conditions page while registering to them. Some countries allows certain games and limit others, which will also be listed. But the ultimate thing is you should know whether tha gambling is allowed or banned in your jurisdiction and failure to acknowledge that may lead to loss of funds and your account permanently.

Some countries have their strict regulations every casino platforms must comply with before they give them license to operate in their country, while some countries might not take that seriously because their citizens can use VPN to access the casino platforms as long as it involves crypto in both deposit and withdrawals especially non-KYC casinos. This answers you question; No. For casino platform to be legally allowed in every country, they need to be licensed by that country, be it a casino that uses crypto or fiat; the country have a say in their services because some might get a percentage of their citizens profit, while some will have to task the platform for operating in their countries.

The government banning gambling in their jurisdiction is one step taken to protect the gamblers from those harm. If the gamblers after seeing that the government has banned gambling or a particular casino, still goes ahead to gamble through other means, the gamblers will take responsibility for the risks involved and protect themselves from any harm. We can only be be demanding protection from the government if they legalised gambling and are earning revenue from gambling through taxation. Since they gave the gamblers the freedom to gamble, they should also make their protection a priority.

I think you are mistaken about the government being good players here. What the government does is to make people think and reason from the perspective that you are viewing them from, but in reality, what they are actually doing is to make laws that will favor them more than it will benefit the citizens, while trying to lie to us that their decision is based on the interest of the people. Each government with different selfish interests and visions changes the law that doesn't go along with them, not the one they see the citizens are not comfortable with. If it’s actually for the benefit of the citizen, before completely banning gambling, there should be a public survey to capture the interest of the people.

I believe government are suppose to consider regulation and responsible gambling rather than total ban, they still need to protect those that gambling are harmful too.
Even in countries where gambling is legal (like mine) people who gamble and bet in sports do not get any specially treatment by the government in the case of them becoming addicted to gambling or betting. All people assume those who gamble are doing so at their own risk, it does not matter the legal status of casinos and bookies in an specific territory. It is true there are some initiatives in developed countries to treat gambling addiction and those initiatives are sometimes funded with taxes, but that is rather the exception to the norm and not the norm itself.
